Twice on my morning walk today, I got a notice that I was moving too fast and shouldn't be playing Pokemon while driving. :/ I wasn't even walking that fast!

i get the moving too fast notice too, blarg.

my office is in an historic building which is a gym so at least once every few days i will take it, but because it's so high traffic i can't hold it very long. and there don't seem to be many yellow team members nearby to help build prestige.

i'm pretty sure there's as red team poke-nemesis that also works in the building but i can't figure out who it is.

i've been taking my dog to local parks so that i can hit up more stops and i can hatch more eggs. but because the eggs hatch based on gps and aren't connected to your pedometer i feel like i'm cheating on my commute. i take a tram from the train station to my office and there are 9 stops on the way, while i'm collecting the bonuses i'm racking up the kms too. it feels wrong. :( that's my pokemon confession, glad i was able to get that off my chest.

I drive really slow through my neighborhood so I can hatch eggs, LOL. I don't feel badly about it, either! (I'm not looking at my phone or blocking traffic, so it's not unsafe driving. Just pull up Pokemon and set my phone it the holder, and go about 20mph, which is only 5mph less than the speed limit here.)

that's what my boyfriend does too! when i was visiting he'd even pull over and have me get out of the car with both phones if we're too far away from a stop to access it from the road.

I work at a university and the speed limit is 15- on my way home I take the longer way to get a .5 more of a km. I don't know what I am going to do in the winter! I don't tolerate the cold well at all. I tried walking back and forth in my house and five back-and-forths only gave me .01 :(

I bid you. I had it when sitting at my kitchen table this morning. I am serious. Just switched it on, and there it was I was going too fast.

the back and forth won't work because the distance is calculated by the gps not the pedometer. you're better off walking in a straight line one way, even running on a small circuit will underestimate your distance because the gps coordinates don't refresh constantly - that's why treadmills won't work either. one trick you can try when walking to get the most distance out of it is to frequently click on a pokestop, even if you are too far away to access it, as apparently that forces the gps to refresh.

I was amused by the "What's New" notes on ios version 1.3.1: "No text fixes".

Thanks @dutchandkiwi! Good info on conserving battery power. haven't went after a gym yet. Still building levels, I can confirm that there are pokemon north of the Arctic Circle, however no gyms or pokestops so I must conserve pokeballs and try to hatch some eggs.

Magikarp update: 383 to go! This time next year, it's evoloution day, oh yeah! ....Smh.....

In other news, it's actually been a good Poke day: Hatched an Eevee and evolved it into Vaporeon. Evolved Krabby into Kingler (finally) and caught a Goldeen and a Poliwhirl, all on my lunch time walk.

Oh, and I finally hit level 18 - go me!

i think I'd rather have the goldeen than it's evolved form. so blah.
i've been lazy with the walking. my eggs are sitting waiting for me to move

Ready to evolve my Abra, Weepinbell, and Jigglypuff.. Waiting till tomorrow ( I will have a lucky egg)

right now I am seriously stacking pidgey, weedles, and ratata to use with my lucky egg. I have 500-800 candies for them!

When you start evolving - evolve to a new pokemon first, as that also gives you pokedex registration points. Then the more candies you need to evolve the more points so evolve those with the 100, 50, 25 and 12 in that order. The problem potentially with that many candies you may run out of lucky egg time as evolving takes a fair few seconds.
And yes I have run out of lucky egg in the middle of evolving - not going to repeat the language that was uttered at that stage o:)
