It’s nearly Friday!!! Woo hoo! I travel to France tomorrow for Christmas. I just have to pack my suitcase. I hate doing that. Just such a faff and worried I have so much to take. I keep putting g it off and I still have cards to write and post before I go. Going to be a long night. xxx

Tracy - our company merged with another which has meant cutbacks. So we are all looking over our shoulders. Dont need any more stress this year - do we? Glad your stressful discussion ended well enough.

Tomorrow is Friday for which I am grateful. I have more presents waiting for me to open than I have had in years so those at work have been generous. I dont discuss my small holidays as it is a "downer" so I guess I have just met some wonderful people this year at work.

My rant that I wanted to post solves nothing, so I move on. Wishing all a good night

    FRIDAY

    Good morning,

TGIF all around - this is the kind of week I am tempted to go streaking at work and blame it on stress.

Had a dream last night that I am now a cook at a hotel.

Seems I am a maniac about work before lunch and make mistakes, oh what to do? Stop working half hour before lunch or just slow down??

Fruit/Veg box is awol this month - it is probably at the office. I checked my other place and not there.

I sat at my dining room table and look at the presents - many people know of my struggles and it is heartening to see that I am not as invisible as I imagine -mgmt level different story - but I will never be mgmt too feisty

Not sure what today brings, will try and lurk

    Good morning Sara~
    A hotel cook, eh?
I hope that your fruit/veg box turns up. Very nice about the presents!

Are you very hungry, and that's why you are a maniac before lunch and make mistakes?
Can you have some yogurt or fruit or cheese stick mid-morning, so you are not so hungry before lunch?
I hope that you have a good day.

Baby it's cold outside - the rhododendrons are drooping/frozen~~

I will wait until after noontime to take Ru on a long walk somewhere. I need the walk. I almost went batty yesterday.

Fruit/Veg box found me so I am impressed.

Lana - yesterday we had our Christmas office party and while food was good/okay - I did find myself pushing so I could go to lunch. Everyday is a new adventure in that place.

Cannot for beans remember my state online password, so will make a new one tonight.

    Good Friday morning.
Woke up this AM and really wished I could roll back over. Of course even if it was the weekend - Ms Maggie would require my attention
Hopefully last day of all this food at work. I have eaten rotten all week. Holding my own on weight - but that is at my higher end again....wont hit my goal for December that is for sure....
    Here is the sad reality:
    CW 192
    HW 207
    GW December 190
    GW January 31 185
    GW February 29 180
Next wedding - 3/14! Gotta get on this!
Have a great weekend, not sure how much I will pop in. Daughter coming to stay from colorado. So looking forward to it, but have to get a room ready and the upstairs bathroom which is kind of my "sons" bathroom because he is the only one left there. No clue how trashed that is lol.
    Will be lurking though.

Lynn - Don't let things slip too far.....you know that old WW saying something about if you stumble at the top of the stairs, do you throw yourself down the entire flight?

Rodolpho and Cabana Boy contingent are coming to Wisconsin to cheer you on in your son's bathroom. Battle stations!

Sara - I am super happy that your veggie box found you. So much porch piracy going on these days.

After lunchtime, it should warm up enough for me to throw Ru the pupper into the car and go to the park for a nice flat walk on pavement that will be good for both of us.

Here I go again Left WW although I loved the plan it was getting way to costly and my motivation left me. So I am mixing it up trying to combine what I learnt from them into an easier MFP plan. Now with Xmas approaching need all the help I can get. Felt so bloated yesterday I’m trying to knuckle down and get a good week in before my supposedly two bad food days over Xmas. Allowing that to myself but have to maintain better eating before and after the big days

alsha welcome, we take things in small steps, and stop by and post when you can. You are on the right track....

My HR complaint is as follows, my trainer has bad time management and I spend too much time dealing with her training anxiety - I also mentioned that I did ask for another person to train. Third point is her anxiety fits are verbal badgering - forgot to mention that one, but I have a feeling I will get a chance.

Felt so between a rock and a hard place that doing that today will make my weekend easier. Note to self - dont celebrate with caloric food.

    Wishing all a good night

Today was Christmas “party” at work...pretty much just a luncheon. They began putting snacks out about 9:00am...ugh... I grabbed a couple pinwheels (very small) and, a cracker with cheese ball...I suddenly felt myself about to shovel everything in mouth, put on the brakes and began eating nuts...yes, they were honey roasted...but, I ate less than a handful and was able to walk away from the buffet..lunch was just deli sandwiches, potato soup (had about 1/4c cuz I had ate too much) didn’t eat all of bread on sandwich (which we thought were sliders, turned out they were on buns) I won’t say, I didn’t pick all day. But, I walked away more than I ate. I could have done better, but I also could have done so much worse.

Food has been such a struggle for me, lately. I’m eating way more bread than I normally do. I’m finding myself eating cinnamon toast or PB bread for breakfast and sandwiches for lunch...it’s just quick, easy and cheap... I keep telling myself, I’ll get back on track...I just can’t get there....blah..I love Christmas, but it puts me into a serious depression as well..that sounds strange, but it’s true..I’ve got to figure out how to get out of this funk...TOM definitely doesn’t help, either...

    SATURDAY

    Good morning,

A domestic weekend laundry and dishes are overdue.

Dog lets me sleep in a little longer but I have to respect her need to go out. So she is taken care of.

Hoping a game plan for meals will find me as I am shopping. - Saw a FB ad for roast chicken and vegetables and the only thing I need to buy is chicken (ad was for a stove) so that is so easy I am running with it. White potatoes/sweet potatoes, radishes, carrots and onions.

Welcome to alsha - I hear you on the WW price.

*pulling out Cabana Club soapbox* ..... I frequently hear about how WW is losing ground and not doing so well. Well, I think that they should figure out how to give a reduced price to us older folks. Maybe show a Medicare card or something like that? I could afford $30, maybe $35 per month, but $45 is just too much for me.

Are there any other weight loss programs that have weekly meetings? I might go snooping around online.

Dawn you did well at your office groaning board. You were aware, and you did not eat as freely as you could have done. Pats on your back. How about keeping hard-boiled eggs around for breakfast? I need to get going on that.

Sara - I'm glad that you went to HR to get this business on the record. I hope you can have a restful weekend.

I am not feeling very well today. Achy and depressed. Time to go lie down for a bit.

Lana- we actually bought this like egg thing... I don’t know what it’s called...you put 7 eggs in it, put lid on, and it boils (more like steam maybe) not sure how long it takes...used it for deviled eggs at Thanksgiving... I really thought, this would be my definite way to have an easy snack or breakfast....has not been the case...something is going to have to click in my brain...just not sure what will help me get to that point... I think this every single day, every time I get dressed/undressed...hope your day got better..snuggle with Ru, if he’s a snuggler...

Sara- hope things get better with your job, or a better opportunity pops up..DH just made a roast chicken with veggies, last night...sooo yummy ...enjoy yours

Dawn, the egg thing sounds interesting. Sorry that you are in a rut sort of. You'll get out of it soon.

No, Ru is not a cuddler. He is a tad neurotic, maybe has a smidge of dementia? As his owner told me, he does only three things: eat, pace around the house, or sleep. Occasionally he'll fight with his healthy bone toy, and of course he takes me out on walks 😉 He doesn't see well, so he can't fetch balls and play really. He's a good boy, but just squirms if I bring him up on the sofa with me. He'd rather pace or sleep on the floor.

Sara - I've been watching a lot of Netflix today. Nothing else interests me. I'm in a rut too.

    SUNDAY

    Good morning,

    Up to feed dog.

Another great "work" dream - not quite the way I want to spend my nights, but it is what it is.

Groceries, dog to vet (I have been lapse about giving dog her last meds of the night as I have been passing out) so we shall find out.

Lana if you are dog sitting is there $$$ for this? My step grandparents would babysit dogs for a time to make a little $$ but also to have the company.

Lots of cooking on tap today- got lazy last night and used frozen box for dinner.

oh yes, I could clean house, empty boxes or take a nap this afternoon.......

    Good morning Sara -

Yes, there is a modest amount of $ involved, thank heavens. That is why I went for it. A young lady in my neighborhood put out an email appeal on the neighborhood mailing list for someone to watch Ru while she went away to visit family for the Christmas holiday. Frankly, I need the money, and this sort of small cash deal is the only way I can earn it nowadays. So I am grateful for the check she gave me.

I must give Ru credit where it is due. He is easy to deal with with going outside and doing his business; so far no accidents in the house, and he doesn't jump on things or bite or chew on things. He doesn't bark at all; he doesn't whine. He is never petulant, and always does what I ask him to do. He is really good about going out for exercise walks.

I just wish I knew what he wants when he comes over to me and looks at me as best he can. I give him lots of love and petting and talk to him. Then he walks away, circles around the house, and then comes right back to me and looks at me. This is in spite of having been outside to go pee and poo and has been recently fed. I wish I could read his mind.

Lana - you are taking such good care of Ru - glad there is a little $$$ and there may be more down the road. Ru may be looking for what he is used to. Did he come with a bed/blanket? He may just be a little lost. Talk to him, I drive Miss T nuts I know. >:)

Her apt went well and the supplement did well enough in the test to continue with the meds. They will no longer carry her phenobarb so I have to go to an outside pharmacy - fair enough but pooppeee on them.

Lunch made and there are leftovers waiting for fridge. Have all veg in same area to prep later roasted chicken breasts with olive oil balsamic vinegar and lemon. Think I threw out garlic when I moved, but that's okay.

I now live next to a flight of stairs that goes straight up and I was wondering if I should try taking them once a day for exercise? Just a thought.

Dementia is definitely a possibility. The pacing makes me think pain, or neurological...sad to say..is he on any meds? He probably is confused, if he’s never been with you before. “Where’s my mom” is probably crossing his mind...yes, I believe animals think and have feelings...I also believe they remember, even tho many will argue this...sounds like he’s a pretty good house guest, even with the pacing...at least he’s not leaving any presents for you...

I’m hoping, taking a few days off will help me. I do know I’m depressed. And, my job is certainly #1 on the cause list....

Glad Miss T’s appt went well. Bummer about the meds. It may be a safety thing, for them. I don’t know if that is something Chewy carries. I know they are cheaper on many things and it’s delivered...

    Good morning All~~

    Raining and super-gloomy here.

Ru's owner told me that he hates the rain, and it's even hard to get him to go outside to pee and poo. Well, thankfully, that was not the case this morning: out he ran, as if it were dry, and did everything he had to do, and then wanted to walk around the back yard (I take him on a leash). I had my umbrella intended for him, but he didn't care at all that it was raining. He just walked along and stopped to smell the smells in the air. It was only sprinkling, but I was glad that he did his thing and I didn't have to deal with the doggie rain coat. Yay!

He does have all of his stuff here: comfy crate with cushy bed in it. His regular laying-on blanket, padded underneath with several beach towels. An old comforter of mine in another spot, which he is happy to lie down on. His kongs and his food bowls. I guess he's doing OK. His mistress will come and get him Thursday evening. So far, so good.

Dawn, he does have anti-inflammatories to take if he shows any of a list of signs that was given with his nicely detailed care instructions, but so far, his arthritis et al has not been in evidence. That's good.

My day will be sorting and filing that stack of mail that I let pile up. I have not implemented a good filing system quite yet.

Sara - Leandro has brought some "kindness and understanding" spray from Brazil. He says it is not always effective, but you can take it to work to use on anyone who is not nice to you.

Dawn - I'm with you on the depression. We will get through it. I hope.

    Lana

no idea what I weigh - it can't be good, so I avoid the scale
