@trooworld Our bike ride was sort of on the edge of the city (although it’s only Launceston so even using the word “city” is a stretch 😂). We went along the river and some bike paths that were a mix of concrete, wooden boardwalk, gravel and dirt. Had to abandon one detour because it was a bit boggy. I probably wouldn’t describe it as “relaxing” but it was definitely enjoyable and sort of…..grounding? Centering? A great reminder of priorities in my life. Funniest part was chasing a local “turbo Chook” (native hen) down the path for ages because it wasn’t smart enough to go sideways into the brush - kids thought it was just like a cartoon 😂

@gemwolf110 How are things with you?

@trooworld Have you talked with your hubby about this? You are not being a big baby about this. You matter. You deserve to feel special. I have that problem on my anniversary. It's just another day to him. On my bday I make everyone pay attention to me. I go on strike. Don't do anything. If he wants to eat, he's taking me out. I buy my own present because he says no matter what he chooses I can't be satisfied. (he doesn't choose the right things even with a list) So I go buy it and say this is what you chose for me. Win Win. My bday is so close to Valentines day (don't get me started) that I have a friend that likes to throw a party around that day and they usually have a cake with my name on it. That works for me too. But I had to make my own day special. I'm glad you and hubby had fun at the street fair.

@tamevv that's great you have made a habit out of morning exercise. It's hard when we get busy. I'm planning a trip on Thursday for a week and I have a hard time tracking when I'm away. That will be my main focus. Your bike ride sounds fun. I haven't ridden a bike in about a decade.

Exercise was 90 min in the gym.

@Tamevv That sounds nice, except the boggy part lol.

@theslightedgeforever I did so he took off yesterday from going over there. I love the way you celebrate your birthday! I'm sorry about your anniversary not feeling special to your hubby. Good job with the exercise and F&V!

@sugarfreesquirrel Hi! I put things like cut-up fruits and veggies, store-brand lowfat cheesesticks, I make hummus for the veggies (this is my favorite recipe: https://www.allrecipes.com/recipe/14830/hummus-iii/ ), shelled edamame, roasted almonds in small amounts...those kind of things. I hope that helps, maybe someone else can chime in, too!

Hi all. My husband stayed home yesterday and we just hung out watching movies and listening to an audiobook. It was nice. We ordered pizza for dinner and I didn't do good. I'm working on that. My knee is bothering me terribly, I was able to go for a 38-min walk with my friend yesterday but paid for it later. I'm going to have a tough time at work, walking between buildings to go to the bathroom, get coffee, etc. Here's the cake my husband is going to make for me, it's based on a WW recipe:

    Chocolate-ancho chile cake (12 servings)
    2 sprays cooking spray
    1 cup all-purpose flour
    6 Tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
1 cup Splenda Granulated no calorie sweetener
    1⁄4 cup unsweetened applesauce
    2 tsp ancho chile powder
    1 tsp baking soda
    1⁄2 tsp baking powder
    1⁄2 tsp kosher salt
    1⁄4 tsp ground cinnamon
    1⁄8 tsp cayenne pepper
    1⁄2 cup low-fat buttermilk
    1 large egg
    1 large egg yolk
    1⁄2 tsp vanilla extract
1⁄2 cup hot black coffee or espresso
1 1⁄2 Tbsp powdered sugar (confectioner's) for serving

Adjust oven racks to divide oven in half. Preheat oven to 350ºF. Lightly coat an 8-inch square pan with cooking spray, then line bottom with parchment paper.

Sift flour, granulated sugar, cocoa powder, chile powder, baking soda, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and cayenne into bowl of an electric mixer fitted with paddle attachment; mix on low speed to combine.

In a second bowl, whisk together well-shaken buttermilk, oil, egg, egg yolk, and vanilla.

With mixer on low speed, slowly add wet ingredients to dry ingredients, then slowly add hot coffee to form a very loose batter. Scrape bottom and sides of bowl with a rubber spatula, to fully incorporate ingredients. (The batter will be very loose but that’s okay. Make sure to fully mix in coffee as directed otherwise the cake will sink in center.)

Pour batter into prepared pan. Bake on middle rack until a cake tester inserted in center of cake comes out clean and sides of cake are pulling away from pan's edges, about 25 minutes.

Cool in pan on wire rack for 30 minutes, then remove cake from pan and let it cool completely.

Create a pattern on cake with powdered sugar using a stencil. Slice into 12 pieces and serve.

    Water yesterday: 20 oz

Pretty much the same old stuff. Pups are okay. On meds now and monitoring. Got into cheaper MBA program so I’m going to go with that one. Need to save money while pursuing more education so I can get a better job. Diet is okay ish could be better, exercise need more of it. Not just for losing weight but for being less stressed as well. How are you?

@sugarfreesquirrel Welcome to the group. Here's a list of snacks that might help you.

    https://amamablessed.com/53-easy-0-point-weight-watchers-snacks-2022/

@trooworld A couple of things I like to do with pizza is cut one slice in half that way it feels like I'm getting 2 slices in my mind. Then also keep some salad in a bag on hand so I can add it to my plate. Otherwise I can eat easily 3 pieces of pizza. How's the knee today. Would it help if you wrapped it? I hate when I have knee flare ups. Since I've been consistent on my stretching and leg strength training, my knee is much better. Right now I'm in a good place because no hip pain, knee pain, or heel pain. It's always something usually. Thanks for the recipe. What does the chile powder do? Deepen the chocolate taste?

@cbabie Good idea on the crockpot veggie soup. I airfryed some veggies today to get them ready to eat. When I think about eating the veggies they aren't made then I'm too lazy to go fix them because I'm hungry right then. So I have them ready now. Although I did find out that when it says 4 servings on the bag, that's not true. Even before airfrying I measured and there was not 4 cups in the bag. That's great you played some kickball. Anything to burn calories.

I had a good loss this week 2.2 lbs Don't know if water weight or diligence but the scale moved downward.

Exercise=50 min in the gym Hill/spring program on the treadmill/stretching
    13/24 f&v: blueberries, carrots

Another week another child saga 😢. Got a call from school today which sent me to tears so I left work for a 3km walk to get myself together. I’m a bit exhausted now and just ate some chocolate so am coming here to stop that behaviour in its tracks. Not sure what the evening holds - I’m just kind of ignoring everyone right now. Wish I could ignore dinner and take a bath.

@cbabie Today is a new day. Veggie soup sounds like a wonderful, nourishing meal. Good job. I think in my case, it's overuse. I walked way too much at the street fair and plus maybe the weather? Thank you! <3

@gemwolf110 Thanks for joining us on F2F. I look forward to supporting you there, too. When do you start your MBA program?

@theslightedgeforever I always forget about that trick. I meant to do it with this pizza but it totally slipped my mind. The knee today is terrible. If it keeps up, I may have to go see the doctor. I don't know if it would help if I wrapped it, maybe. But I don't have anything to wrap it with here right now. I'm glad your knee is better. That's great no pain. The chile powder deepens the chocolate taste (as does the coffee) and gives a little "bite" to the cake. It's slightly spicy. Congrats on the loss! Woot woot! Great job with the exercise and veggies/fruits!

@Tamevv Aw, I'm sorry. <3 I hope the evening got better.

Hi all. Well, yesterday was terrible. I had to work until 2:45 and work was super stressful because of how busy I was. I'm behind on a project and it's stressing me out. At 2:45, I had to go get my tire checked out and after 2 hours, they told me it needed to be replaced. But at least it was just one tire that they had to replace. I came home and my husband had made dinner and a cake for me. The cake above. The day ended much better than it started.

Morning all, I got no exercise yesterday and my legs are telling me about it. I did eat a little better and the soup was good. I jumped on the scale this morning and I am down a smidge...let's see what it says on WI day..LOL

@theslightedgeforever you are funny with your mind games...I guess the old saying is perception is reality..LOL works for you. great job on the loss and keeping movement. Yea on no pain...I think I have it all...LOL

@Tamevv I am so sorry about your stress..I have been there so many times, I can't even begin to tell you. Since we have the newborn in the house and watching how people run at the first cry...I am trying to see all perspectives. Children can makes up happy and distraught...sometimes all at the same time..LOL. I don't know your situation, but here's what comes to mind when praying for you...don't let others SHOULD on you. You know what's best for your child, don't let others make you feel a way that is not right and if they are right, then know this is a season...not a forever. Sometimes we take the moment in time and our mind says it will always be this way...NOT. I will continue to pray over you and that you get the peace inside that you are seeking. (sorry a head of time if I have overstepped) I really just want to encourage you.

@trooworld sorry your work was stressful..I find that when a part of me is hurting, my stress is more...I am less patient and far more cranky...ask my family, LOL.. So glad you day ended better....means hopefully you got some rest. I was talking to my daughters/grand daughter this weekend and it seems we as a whole world are stress and anxiety ridden. I am looking forward to a time of laughter and joy....for more than an HOUR..LOL. I hope you get caught up and your day goes well and your knee stops. hurting...Sometimes Alieve helps me...and I know some people can't take it...my doctor always told me to take 2 on the onset of my never pain, (even though the bottle says 1) I listened to my dr..(sometimes). LOL

@gemwolf110 Good to hear from you, sounds like you are making wise choices for you...keep up the positive thoughts and so glad you popped in..

@tamevv I'm sorry you had such a bad day. Good for you for coming on here to get some support and not go into the kitchen to eat something.

@trooworld So nice of your husband to have your food and cake ready for you. I hope you find some time for relaxation in these busy/stressful days

@cbabie I just told someone yesterday you aren't supposed to SHOULD on someone. LOL I'm glad you had some soup and the scale moved a bit for you. I think there has always been stress and anxiety. But I think now with social media people are more aware of it 24/7.

I made good choices today and only went over my calories by 98. I ate a side salad instead of fries. 1/2 my patty melt and 1/2 my ice cream. I expected my calories to be waaaaay up.

Exercise 65 min (but I need to do my stretching so it will be another 15 or so)

@cbabie I'm glad the soup came out well. Yay for being down! YES! When we are hurting, everything seems stressful and I get cranky too. :( Laughter and joy...well, the holidays are coming up, so hopefully we can do that when the holidays come! I've tried Ibuprofen and it doesn't help. Is Ibu the same as Alieve?

@theslightedgeforever Yes, it was. I hope so, too, but this week, we are having a special event at our work on Friday. It is the busiest day of the year for our company. That's great you were so close to your calories and made those good choices. Your body will know. Great job with exercising and F&V!

Hi all. Well, I decided to make an appointment with my primary care doc about my knee. It's just bothering me too badly. I couldn't get an appointment until Nov 1st though. It will probably stop hurting by then lol.

Morning all, I tracked, but no exercise. I just joined beach body stream, I have to do something and current circumstances in my life doesn't allow me to go out of the house much and I have no room for equipment like I used to...so I am going to try this...maybe I won't get so bored with the routines. LOL

@trooworld Alieve is not Ibu....it's naproxen. Thats about the truth with Dr appointments...LOL. I truly hope you feel better sooner than Dr appt.

@theslightedgeforever great job on making good choices...It really is about our choices unless it's something medical. Yes you are right about now we see it in our faces every day..that's why I choose what I look at. I just don't need extra stress. :)

Morning everyone, two days till holidays - I can see the light. Worked hard yesterday physically and mentally. Fell asleep on the couch before 7pm. It is good for me to be using exercise as an outlet, and when I’m alert I feel great physically, but as soon as I stop and relax that’s it, I’m out 😊

Thanks @cbabie for the kind words, those are the kinds of mantras I tell myself a lot lately. I realised during all the shenanigans last year how important it is for me to be the advocate for my son - he needs me to support him and I think (Hope?) I am doing that, but once the adrenaline fades it takes it’s toll 😔. Hope your new program is inspiring 😁.

@theslightedgeforever Thanks, unfortunately the kitchen won last night, but it wasn’t too bad and the rest of the day was good and I did lots of extra walking so hopeful tomorrows weigh in will still be positive. I have to get back into the half servings as well. That one seems to have slipped by. I don’t often share food with the others anymore, but I need to remember when I do.

@trooworld Wow your doctors sound as bad as ours - if you want to see someone specific it is weeks and a lot of them simply say they are “not taking new clients”. We moved last year and I’m dreading illness. Specialists are months in the waiting.

Hope everyone is headache, pain and stress free today 😁

@trooworld Even though I cut a piece of pizza in half today, I still ended up with 3. :o Sometimes even mind games don't work. I hadn't had that type of pizza in about 30 years.

@cbabie Did you try your beachbody? Yaaay for your tracking

@Tamevv I'm glad you have exercise as an outlet. It helps with the stress

I'm leaving tomorrow to go on a trip with my daughter. Last trip for awhile....winter is comin'.....so I won't be around til I get back.

Hey all. Again. I've been off and on MFP the past few months. Hadn't been eating properly and lost 12lbs in 2 weeks due to this but I've got my appetite back and I'm eating better now. I hit my highest weight ever again in July at 276.2. Today I am 270.8 but also have my TOM right now so it's been up and down a lot.

@cbabie That sounds like a good idea. Teresa loves Beach Body. I hope you like it. My knee feels a bit better today but not good.

@Tamevv I'm glad exercise is a good outlet for you. Yep, that sometimes happens here, too. It took me 6 months to get an appointment with the weight loss specialist. Thank you, my headache, pain and stress are all better today!

@theslightedgeforever Was it worth it? If I hadn't had that type of pizza in 30 years, I may have had a hard time stopping at 1 too. Enjoy your trip.

@roz0810 Hi there! Nice to "see" you! I don't have a Fitbit anymore, I have a Samsung Galaxy watch. Otherwise, I totally would! I'm glad you popped back on. Hi all. Yesterday was such a busy day, I hit my step goal without even trying. I was running around the campus from left to right up to down all day long. Today, I work from home and I'm glad, I need a break! I'm doing so-so. I got into the vending machine at work yesterday. Not so good. My head is better though. I didn't drink enough water yesterday, was too busy to think about it.

Morning all, I only have a quick moment and wanted to pop in. (consistency) I ate better yesterday, I haven't had time yet to start the Beach body, goal is to start today. I was down 1 lb, so I think I am heading in the right direction again.

@trooworld Don't you love it when you don't even try and meet you step goal? LOL. glad you are feeling a little better especially with all that walking yesterday.

@Tamevv So glad you are doing better today, yes sometimes the kitchen wins, but it's only a small victory for it. LOL.

Hi everyone. I’m up and done my exercise. Man it was stubbornness that got me up and going this morning, but I feel good for it now. Today is the last day of month, last day of school, last day of work. I can do this!!

Had a loss this morning which means I lost every week in September and met all of my exercise goals this month too. Pretty proud of myself and rewarding this weekend with shopping for great food for EVERYONE ELSE to make up gift hampers 😂.

@theslightedgeforever Hope your trip is fantastic - enjoy!

@roz0810 Welcome back! Glad to hear your eating has settled. Hope the week finishes up well for you.

@trooworld yay for physical relief! And yay for being at home (where there is no vending and plenty of water 😉 - keep a glass in every room and the rule is whenever you exit a room you have to drink the glass (then go refill and replace it).

@cbabie Hope you get to do the workout, and yay for some positive feedback on the scales! As much as I enjoy all the other wins, that darn scale still holds sway 😊. I’ll have to check out this beach body thing everyone is doing. Yep, I consider the kitchen as a single battle, but right now I’m winning the war 👍

@cbabie Congrats on the loss! Yes, it was nice to not have to think about the step goal lol. Thanks.

@Tamevv Great job with the exercise! You CAN do this, you are doing this! :D Wow, losses every week, that is awesome! Congratulations. I did better with water yesterday but not where I want to be.

Hi all. Even though I was working from home yesterday, I was pretty busy. Today, even though I usually work from home on Fridays, I am going into my work because it is the busiest day of the year for us: we have an open house today. I have to get dressed up more than usual today, too. That means I have to iron lol. I did okay last night with food but we had spicy sesame gochujang noodles with chicken which means I was a little bloated from carbs when I weighed in this morning. I was up 0.2 lbs, no big deal but it's not a loss so I am disappointed.

Morning all, still trying to get to the beach body workout..I got to the first few minutes and then my middle child wanted to go on a walk with her grand baby, he was fussy...so we did and took baby girl on her ride bike....while I walked next to her. I ate better yesterday and I am weighing myself every day.. baby steps

@trooworld I love that you are not disappointed as you know the cause. LOL I know I thought I was the only person that stilled ironed. LOL

@tamevv great job on being stubborn. LOL. Sometines I think women are more stubborn than men...but I know it's not really true. Except we have that internal thing in us as moms, whether we have children or not.

@cbabie Well at least you walked! That's exercise too. Yes, I'm sure it was the pasta that made me gain, but I didn't weigh in today maybe I will tomorrow. LOL I rarely iron! I hate to do it although I love how ironed clothes look.

@gemwolf110 Oh that's good you have time to get ready.

Hi all. I was really busy at work yesterday running around meeting people and talking about the library. I got 9,314 steps in yesterday. That should tell you how much I was running around. I also grazed on food all day long: a plain Greek yogurt parfait at breakfast, then a small chicken skewer + bbq potato chips with fresh onion dip + a cookie, then a small portion of fresh churros with truffle chocolate sauce then another cookie. It's a good thing I got all those steps in!

It was a fun day but I got home at 5:20 and my husband wanted to go to Trader Joe's and get some fall items. I got some salted maple ice cream and that was really good, I had some last night. We also got some pumpkin beer. We started watching Hocus Pocus 2 but I was so tired, I fell asleep about 10 minutes into it and we will have to watch tonight. Today, I am getting my hair done.

    Water yesterday: 30 oz

Okay okay!! I’m up!! Definitely feeling the holiday vibes. Have not felt like exercising at all the last two days and have done enough to get my goals but not much more. Yesterday was daughters birthday so it was all about food but no excuse today. Am committed to water and tracking.

@Tamevv Well at least you are hitting your goals, that's good!

Hi all. Got my hair done yesterday she said, "Do you want to start letting the grays grow in?" I agreed although it made me kind of sad. I always run from my age because the only thing that shows my age is the grays popping up in my hair, I don't really have wrinkles yet. So, yesterday was the last of the fun colors (purplish). Next time she will put a temporary color on that is probably going to be just BROWN. :(

Today, we are celebrating the birthdays of my MIL and me. We are going over there early for brunch. Nobody asked what I wanted to do for my birthday celebration (have an Italian dinner). No, the day is not about me, it's about my MIL. Am I a bit salty? Yes lol. Instead, I will have quiche and salad and mimosas, and remember this next year when I insist on my husband making a big deal out of my birthday! I'm not even a breakfast person hmmph.

    Morning all.

So it’s leaving day. I’m prepared but apprehensive. Not sure why, but I ate lasagne yesterday. Not a big deal but it’s more that I just didn’t think about alternatives. Glad that I naturally halved the portion I gave everyone else, but it is an unusual meal for me, so evidence my mind is somewhere else. Which bodes poorly 😒. Who would have thought active weight loss took so much focus and concentration ALL OF THE TIME??

Anyway, I did drink enough water and did an hour workout and journaled so met those goals. Hm, not sure if I posted them yet… nope, So:

Goals for this month will be split into two - I want to be mindful and accountable, but also realistic while away.

So for 1-15 Oct I will have:
    - Min 2ltrs water each day
    - Some kind of exercise every day
    - Journal/ reflection every day. Keeping stable emotionally will be key for this trip
    - I will try to track as I go based on best guess.

@Tamevv It truly does take focus and concentration all the time! Sad but true. Have fun on your vacation!

Hi all. We had a nice celebration yesterday. It didn't feel like it was my birthday but oh well. Next year, I am celebrating big with my husband. We came home and relaxed a bit and then I made turkey chili. It came out pretty good but my husband had doctored it up to make it better.
