@fabgeekmom Thanks, me too. Indeed. It was a lot of fun! Good job with the swim. That's good your DH is healing nicely. We've set off the smoke detector many times cooking lol. It's never fun. I'm glad everything turned out okay.

@theslightedgeforever I hope so too! Going without caffeine is rough lol. We did go out an enjoy the band, it was a lot of fun. I have been tracking my food in the app my surgery center sent me (Baritastic). How about you? Tracking? I hope you have a nice time on your trip. Good job with the exercise. That's too bad about your watch, I hate that.

Hi all. I got my shot and it didn't hurt to get because she numbed it first. We did go out last night, it was a lot of fun. I saw a coworker there but we didn't sit with them because they had a full table. We sat by ourselves until it got busy and this lovely younger couple who were celebrating their 1st wedding anniversary came and asked if they could sit with us. We ended up hitting it off, they were from Ohio (like me) and we had a great time. We may get together with them again in the future. Here are a few pictures from last night. The band was a "rat pack"/60s style.

Morning all, Never heard from the Dr, but good news is we had to take Baby boy back to the Dr. His cough is awful and the next day the DR called to follow up on him. It's rare Drs to that these days. So at least I heard from one Dr. LOL. I had a major binge day before yesterday, but yesterday was much better. I am spotty tracking..LOL.

@fabgeekmom so glad DH is improving and he got the boot. I am sure he will feel more mobile now. That always makes us feel better. I can't tell you how many times we have set off the smoke alarm. Good thing is you know your alarm system works since your DS called. :). You have a good SIL...

@trooworld I loved the pictures, your skin is so beautiful! I am glad your shot didn't hurt..I guess that's what I don't want. (a shot) :). It sounds like you are getting back to normal and enjoying your time off again. Good for you!

@theslightedgeforever I hate waiting, I am not very patient thats for sure. LOL I got a different band for my Apple watch and it has a magnet clasp, every time I am typing right now, it's sticking to my Mac....oh the fun. So sorry your watch was dead, makes me feel like was it worth it, but your body will say yes. Good for you on getting your steps in and working your muscles until they fail....

@theslightedgeforever Have fun on your travels. Good job on the exercise even though you didn’t do what you wanted to. Too bad about the Watch. But your body knows what you did. @trooworld Nice pictures! It’s good that the shots didn’t hurt. Interesting that you met new people. @cbabie I hope baby boy is better. Hi, all. I went for a walk this morning. The weather is nice. Highs are in the 70’s. I did some strength workouts. My arms are a little sore from a few days ago. I hope that means the workouts are working. LOL! Tonight I am making ST Hamburger helper. Years ago I used to make the boxed kind. I think it will be good as everyone on the ST FB group has liked it.

@cbabie I'm sorry you still haven't heard from the doctor. That's awful. I'm glad the other doctor followed up on Baby Boy. What caused the binge? Oh thank you! It's just genetics, I don't take care of my skin lol. Well, the knee still hurts if I walk on it more than 30 minutes so kind of getting back to normal.

@fabgeekmom Thank you! Yes, I am glad the shot didn't hurt. I was surprised it didn't lol. I'm glad you have nice weather for your walks. Good job! I've heard that recipe is good. I hope you enjoyed it.

Hi all. I had a good day yesterday. It started with a disappointment: I attempted to go to water aerobics but when I got there, all the parking was taken up (even the street parking!) so I couldn't go. :( I won't go back to that location again unless I go really early. On a whim, I stopped and got Chick-fil-A for me and my DH. We'd never had it before but the line wasn't long today (like usually it is) so I stopped through the drive-through. When I paid, the cashier handed me this $10 gift card and said, "The lady ahead of you wanted you to have this." It was so sweet and touched me. I have of course heard of random acts of kindness but never have been the recipient of one until yesterday. Today, I am going to put up my Halloween decorations and then going to meet my former manager and a coworker at a cat cafe.

@trooworld That was too bad you couldn’t find a parking spot. That also probably meant that all programs were crowded. That was really cool to get a random act of kindness. Hi, all. I went for a walk and rode the bike today. DD is making ST cheeseburger soup, salad and garlic bread for dinner. I’ve had it before and it’s good.

@fabgeekmom Yeah. That's true. I was touched. Good job with the exercise! I hope you enjoyed dinner.

Hi all. I put up some Halloween decorations but I need to do a lot more. I just haven't had time. Next year, I will start in September. I met my coworker and my old boss at the cat cafe, it was nice to see the kitties play. I only stayed an hour since it was so far from my house (45 mins), I had to get back to get ready for today.

Morning all, weekend was crazy busy, didn't do bad on food. However, I did have pizza last night. 1 piece though so that was good. I have my CT scan tomorrow, so hopefully I will get some direction on the knee. Still waiting on Dr in regards to the infusion....go figure

@trooworld I am glad you got to go to the cat cafe and enjoyed it. Yeah, I hate when I have to travel more than 15 to get where I am going...LOL. so I never leave my house. :). How cool to get the card, did you like the Chick filet?

@fabgeekmom I am assuming the bike meant your stationary bike? Do you like it? I have thought of getting on to exercise my knee. I have a regular bike, but with the kids it's hard to get out and do it. LOL. I don't want to be stupid, but what is ST hamburger helper? I am thinking I should know it. Was it good? Regular hamburger helper, used to give me heartburn bad, so I stopped making it.

@trooworld I bet it was fun to see all those cats. I’m like @cbabie in that I don’t go anywhere too far from home. A lot of people have put up Halloween decorations. Soon it’ll be Christmas! @cbabie I love my recumbent bik! One of my previous doctors told me it was good for my knees. The hamburger helper recipe was good and not greasy at all. After all, it was Skinnytaste! Hi, all. Today was a swim day. I grilled chicken along with rice and salad for dinner. I made a marinade with soy sauce, maple syrup and Dijon mustard.

@cbabie You did very well. I've managed to go down to 2 pieces from 4 SOMETIMES. Other times, it's all 4 pieces. So yes, 1 piece is excellent! I'm glad you have your CT scan today. I hope it goes well. Hopefully you hear back from the doctor soon. Yeah it wouldn't be so bad traveling that far if I didn't do it Monday through Thursday for work lol. I really enjoyed Chick Fil A, the chicken was juicy and delicious and the sauces were really good.

@fabgeekmom It was fun, I like kitties! Good job with the swim. Dinner sounds good.

@theslightedgeforever Good job wow, while traveling! Impressive.

Hi all. Not much going on here, it's a work day lol. My husband made enchiladas using leftover barbacoa (a Mexican beef dish). I made the barbacoa on Saturday night and it was really good in the enchiladas. I had to stop taking my Celebrex (the meds for my arthritis) until after my endoscopy (which is Friday). I am supposed to take Tylenol instead for now. I hope my knee doesn't hurt too badly.

Morning all, I can't wait to go get this CT scan. I would like to know for sure what is going on. I was going good on food last night until DH made me mad and I went for the Fat Cow cookies and cream ice cream sandwich. YUM, but not really worth the calories. So I guess he won after all, since I was the one who ate something that upset me cause I ate it. LOL

@trooworld I hope your knee doesn't hurt either. Hopefully you have enough residue with the Tylenol it will be okay. Don't you just love it when you can make another kind meal with left overs.

@fabgeekmom Thanks for the input on the bike. I am going to have to look up skinny taste. I have not looked at them for recipes. thanks!!

@theslightedgeforever Good job on the movement!! You will thank yourself later. LOL

@theslightedgeforever Good job on exercise at the hotel. @trooworld That really sucks when you can’t take your medication. I use the same drug and it really helps without upsetting my stomach. Hopefully the Tylenol will help. It’s always good to have leftovers. @cbabie It’s Skinnytaste ( one word). That’s too bad that you stress ate. Try finding something else to do. Hi, all. I went for a walk this morning and did some indoor exercises. For dinner I’m making a recipe from the bad back cookbook: beef stew with mushrooms and bacon. Except for the bacon there’s no chopping. I’ve made it before and it’s good. I’m doubling the recipe for leftovers.

@cbabie You got it yesterday, right? I hope it can give you some answers. I eat out of anger, too. It's the first thing I reach for when I am mad. I'm sorry that happened. Yeah, I hope so too about my knee. Yes, it's nice to have an easy time cooking!

@fabgeekmom Yes it does! I hope the Tylenol helps, too. Good job with the exercise! That's good you are making something that you enjoy.

Hi all. So far so good with the Tylenol but it takes a few days for the Celebrex to get out of my system so we'll see. My insurance approved another sleep study (I got one about 4 years ago and they said I had mild sleep apnea). My primary care doctor is concerned that the sleep apnea may have progressed and she wants me to find out before my surgery, she says it will be important for the anesthesiologist to know.

Hi! Quick stop by. Got to see the aurora borealis this evening. Was very cool to see and was on my bucket list. Of course I thought I’d have to go to Alaska to see it but because of the solar flares got to see it. Which idk if I should be more amazed by the natural phenomenon or concerned about the flares?!?

@trooworld I hope you had a good day, despite having to work. @gemwolf110 Nice pictures! Hi, all. Today was a busy day. I had a bone density test this morning. I have already found out my results. I have osteopenia which is no surprise as I’ve had it for many years. I don’t know if I have any improvements as I have not heard from my doctor. I’m not worried as I’m doing what I need to do. When I got home, I rode my bike and then DS and I went grocery shopping. It was nice to go with him as he carried everything inside. After lunch I went for a walk. It was cool and brisk but sunny. DS grilled salmon. He maintained it in equal parts soy sauce and maple syrup and also made a glaze with the same ingredients. So good! And leftovers for lunch tomorrow.

@gemwolf110 Very cool looking. Thanks for sharing!

@fabgeekmom Thank you! Sorry about the results but it sounds like you are doing what you need to do. That's good DS went shopping with you. Your kids sound great. Yummy dinner.

Hi all. I have my endoscopy this morning. Of course, I woke up with a bad headache and couldn't take anything. I also can't eat anything or drink anything. I'll be glad to get this done.

@trooworld By now your tests have been done and you can enjoy the weekend. I’ve had an endoscopy before so I know what that’s about. Hi,all. Today was a swim day. I went to Sam’s Club and that was exhausting. For dinner I prepared Skinnytaste Giant turkey meatball Parmesan. It was good. I also made sauce with some tomatoes I needed to use up and some pasta shells.

@fabgeekmom Yes indeed. Good job with the swim. I have to go to Sam's today. I have a friend who loves that giant meatball parmesan. I've made it myself once and I liked it.

Hi all. Endoscopy went okay, The procedure itself took 8 minutes. I was awake enough during the whole procedure to realize what was going on and hear the noises my body was making. I don't know if that is normal to be awake but that is how it was. My throat was a tiny bit sore immediately afterwards but the soreness went away within the hour.

@trooworld That’s pretty normal to have a sore throat. I’m glad it subsided. Good luck at Sam’s Club. Next time I go I might have DH take me, drop me off at the door, park and pick me up when I am finished. Hi, all. DH and I are going to my cousin’s house tonight for Break-Fast, the end of Yom Kipper. She’s serving a traditional dairy meal which is my favorite. Bagels with lox and cream cheese, kugel and other good stuff. My goal is to eat a little of what I like and not go back for seconds.

Morning all, I did get the results of my CT scan back..no surgery required, but lots of stuff going on with cartilage and my ligaments. I need to see a Ortho, but now waiting on another referral. My eating was not good last night, I have no idea why, but I kept taking a bite here, a bite there...everywhere a bite bite..oh cbabie had a farm..e i e i o..... :)

@trooworld glad your endoscopy went well..I have never had one of those. It sounds like you made a good choice with your new medical team. I am glad they are being so thorough.

@fabgeekmom SO glad you have your results and you are still in the peni stages...I love that you are not worried as you are doing what you are supposed to do... I am NOT doing what I need to be doing..I was and I know it's time to get back to it..I am thinking of getting a bike, but I know the walking is the best. Just hard to do that right now.

@cbabie I’m glad no surgery is needed. The bike will help your knees and hips but won’t do much for your bone density. If you don’t feel like walking, you can do upper body exercises. You even can do body weight, without weights. I forgot to mention that my doctor messaged me and said my numbers had increased slightly and to continue doing what I am doing.

@fabgeekmom Yeah I figured the sore throat was normal. The part I didn't think was so normal was for me to be awake lol. Thank you. That's a good idea about Sam's Club. I hope you had fun at the Break-Fast celebration! Good goal. That's great your doctor said your numbers had increased!

@cbabie I'm glad you got the results back quickly. It sure does take time to get things done in the medical world, right? Yes, I like my new medical team a lot. They are very thorough and know what they are doing, I think.

Hi all. I didn't do too much yesterday. I did grocery shopping and then I had a Spanish lesson with a new tutor. After that, we took the dogs to Pug Rescue San Diego's Halloween pug party. We didn't stay too long as it was hot and Violet started to get overstimulated and began barking at people. Today, I am donating blood this morning and working on a base/platform for my Halloween display: a friend at work gave me a pirate ship and I'm making a platform that has water with waves for the ship. I've never tried this technique before so we'll see how it goes.

@trooworld That’s awesome that you can donate blood. Good luck on the Halloween stuff. Hi, all. Last night was fun and I did what I said I would do. Food was really good but I was able to limit portions. DH and I shared desserts so we didn’t overeat. One of my cousin’s friends tried to get me to take home some of the dessert she made, but I said no, several times. Food pushers annoy me! Tonight we are having a birthday celebration for DD. My cousin and her husband are coming over. The menu is grilled flank steak, salad and baked potatoes. Healthy so far. Of course, there’s an ATK lemon cake that DS made. We’ve had it before and it’s so good.

@fabgeekmom Yes, I know not everyone can so I try to do it when I have time. That's good you had fun and were able to limit your portions. Oh food pushers, yeah they annoy me, too! Happy birthday to your DD. Sounds like a good menu.

Hi all. I achieved my 3-gallon donation yesterday at the blood bank! They gave me a certificate and some Halloween socks (everyone who donates this month gets the socks). After that, my DH and I went for coffee and ran some errands. We came home and I took a nap, the blood donation wore me out. I worked on my Halloween display platform: now it is drying and then I will paint it. Today, I have work and a phone appointment with the cardiologist to go over the test results.

Morning all, I am still fighting this head cold thing, and didn't do well eating yesterday. My daughter was here helping me and DH rearrange the playroom and something went POP in her back..It was like a comedy club later in the day...me with my knee and my back at times and her with her back...but on to a new week and better goals.

@trooworld sounds like you are enjoying having time to do your "halloween" stuff. Congrats on the blood giving. Good luck with the phone call over the cardio results. I pray all goes as it should.

@fabgeekmom I am so glad you were able to control your portions...You and DH worked together as a team. I just need to get back to walking when I can and that's that!!! SO happy your numbers are good.

@trooworld Congratulations on your 3 gallon donation. That sounded like a good day. @cbabie That is too bad about the head cold. Also your daughter’s back popping and your knee. Hi, all. Today was a swim day. DH had PT and is doing well. He is learning how to tip toe using the walker as he still can’t put pressure on the foot. We had leftover flank steak for dinner with a salad and air fried potatoes.

@cbabie Sorry about your cold. Oh no! That sucks about your daughter's back. I am enjoying my Halloween time BUT I am not going to get all the decorations up, I just don't have time. SO, I'll be a bit sad about that lol. Thank you!

@fabgeekmom Thank you! Good job with the swim. That's good your DH is doing PT and is doing well.

Hi all. The cardiologist said my heart is normal and I got the clearance from her to proceed with surgery. Now, I just wait for them to give me a date + I have a phone appointment with the surgeon in a week to talk about the results of my endoscopy and maybe what's next. I am hopeful about the future and what it brings.

    Hi all.

My class started yesterday. Was a hectic start because my oldest dog the little bichon was diagnosed with diabetes over the weekend and had to be hospitalized and she came home last night been interesting having to give her 3 shots a day until it’s controlled and the 3 different eye drops twice a day for her eyes as they were dry and had a small infection. Probably from the diabetes and she has cataracts. I’ve been working from home to monitor her and give the insulin. She’s 14 years old. Poor pup. She should be good once everything is controlled.

Hope you all have a great day!
