Morning guys, sorry I have been MIA, it's been crazy for me. My routine has been changed up a bit and we know how well I function with that NOT...LOL I haven't done the best with eating or exercise, but I have been so much on the go, that I am okay with where my week ended. We have been having to eat what is in the house because of no money for groceries, so it's been interesting to be creative. I had forgotten how to do that. So it's taking me down another journey. I actually feel pretty positive about where my life (for the most part) is going and I think that is changing some of my struggles. (except my internet keeps going in and out..it's my computer not the internet) UGH . most of the time I don't have internet and when I have to use it...it's frustrating..LOL Like now
@trooworld So glad you got up and went to the gym, I see so many changes in your habits and they are all good... in regards to the carbs, here is what I see in me...if I get up and eat something that has lots of carbs in it...my day is done, I crave all carb foods, and don't eat right...however, IF I were to say have my usual protein shake, then I usually am good until I have to make some "sweet tooth" choices at night. But that is a lot better than eating bad food all day long.
@theslightedgeforever was your cabbage cooked? If so UGH...if not, that sounds really good with the apples. I was wanting to make some apples and rasins with yogurt the other day and did not.. you are doing great with your exercise....good job
@trishastime it's a good thing to make "me" time and take care of yourself. We as women on the whole do not and that I think is why more and more women are dying of heart attacks or strokes than by cancer. So keep thinking of your health and keep doing those things you see make you feel better. GREAT JOB!

Morning everyone
We are 12 hours ahead (at least) so it is 5/7 here. I decided to stay home today, major changes are going on in this household and I feel I need a mental health day. I have at least 9 months of sick leave accrued despite me having to take about 5 months off for my not so recent surgeries, so you can see it is not something I take lightly. Fourth of July is like celebrating Australia day. Australia day is held in January (middle of summer) There are fireworks in a couple of key locations. Only the major shops are open and certainly not the gym. People flock to the beaches.
I hope you all have a happy 4th July

Trishastime I plan one day off a week. Usually On Tuesday so I can go grocery shopping I’m better than the devil in your ear. 😬. I read something yesterday talking about willpower versus good habits. It said change the environment and the good habits come easy. I think I’m finding that true. Plus the domino effect. What’s the one thing I can set in motion that will knock over the other dominoes. My Trello board. I’m glad you are finding your one thing. I’ve been tweaking my Trello boards for one year finding something that works. I found it now. Just figured out 5/7. You all put the day first then the month. Remind us when it’s Australia Day so we can celebrate with you.
Trooworld didn’t do anything really for the 4th but follow my Trello board. Lol. I love cheeseburgers. I have allowed myself once a month Now that I think about it I’m due for a cheeseburger
Cbabie. Being creative in the kitchen might be a good thing as it gets you out of your comfort zone and that’s always a good thing. Change is good. Did you have a bad cooked cabbage experience in your childhood. Lol. Think of it like cole slaw. Sweet yet tangy I’m having the leftovers for lunch Already preplanned it in my journal
Gemwolf. I hope you had a good holiday
I did 54 min exercise. Treadmill stretching walking outside

@cbabie I think we all have a hard time adjusting to changes in our routine. I know I do, too. Why do you have so many internet problems? Is it where you live? Thanks, I'm trying! I see what you are saying about the carbs. I think it's a lot better than eating bad food all day long too.
@gemwolf110 Happy 4th to you, too I hope you had a good day and it was a day off!
@TrishasTime I'm sorry you are having changes in the household, I hope things settle soon. Australia Day does sound like our 4th.
@theslightedgeforever you should have one if you are due for one. We made ours with 96% lean beef. It was good. Great job on the exercise!
Hi all. I went to BodyPump yesterday with friends as planned, hung out at the house, and that's about it. Our poor dog was frightened by jerks in the neighborhood setting off fireworks, he was whimpering and unsettled all night, so I didn't get a good night's sleep. I'm starting a new morning routine where I make a plan for the day on paper. On this plan, I review my goals for the year, break them down into smaller goals and then what I can do today to help get there. For instance, my goal is to lose 60 lbs this year. I broke it down into losing 5 lbs a month --> 1.2 lbs a week --> today, I will drink 100 oz of water, only eat the foods I brought, I will avoid the free food at work (except if it is fruit), and I will leave 2 bites of food on my plate at dinner. Have a good day!1 -
Morning all!
I just got back from the gym, went yesterday as well. I am on a FB group for a book I read called Miracle Morning and the funny thing is they are helping us stay accountable...something as simple as a spreadsheet. I had to “check” the box that I got my Exercise in today...only thing that made me go..LOL. I love checking the boxes as done...It sounds like the Trello for someone else in this group..
@trooworld It’s not my internet, it really is my computer. I think the wireless is going out..Like right now, I am typing on my IPAD because I couldn’t get the internet to work on my computer and ugh..it’s working on my comp right now..not sure how long it will stay working. It sounds to me like you have a good plan in place...this book I read “the One Thing” was good and sounds like what each one of us are doing..keep up your mormentum.
@theslightedgeforever Great job on exercise and clicking the “tabs”..LOL I am glad you found your one thing...knocking over those dominoes... I love coleslaw, make my own, but not cooked cabbage of any color... I did 35 min of treadmill today...
@TrishasTime I am glad you decided to stay home....when I was booted out of my company I had the max of vac and sick time you could carry....the only good it did me was they had to pay me for it...but when I look back...I didn’t take time off when my mom died...it was the month of year end and I had “too much work to do”. I totally regret that now...I am proud that you chose to take care of your household...
@gemwolf110 I hope you had a great 4th and are getting some down time!!!

Morning everyone
I also have the day off - which was pre-planned a week ago. I spent yesterday doing all things tax and trying to sort out our finances for the changes ahead, then went to the stationary store to get some stuff for the gift tags I am making. Due to lack of sleep from the previous night - our mood was not sunny, so DH and I decided to bring in pizza for dinner. I keep reminding myself one dinner will not make a gain. Today , I am back to it but have lots of tasks to do. The main one is I am taking GD car to the garage to get the exhaust done. DH says he is going to do it - 3 months ago and now that she is on the verge of getting her license, I can no longer wait. So will drop it off and wander around the shops getting my steps up.
@cbabie - I am more of a list girl and crossing things off. It is funny, I do not mind many things on my work trello board, but hate having more than 20 work emails in my inbox that I need to attend to.
@theslightedgeforever, what do you do when you are on the treadmill Do you watch TV or listen to music? Great job doing 54 min exercise
@trooworld - Love your plan - making it into manageable bites of data. It does not seem so overwhelming from saying what you want to lose this week as opposed to the year
Back to tax stuff
Take care everyone
Trish0 -
Trooworld. I need my carbs in the morning to start my engines but I guess it depends good or bad carbs. But then I have planned snacks and meals all day long too. I do better that way If I feel like I want to eat then I go check the plan and eat that. I eat 2 fruits chia seeds and 2 Oz cheese or oatmeal on alternating days through the week. Fridays is always pancakes and eggs and Saturdays is omelette and toast The key is finding out what works for us and sticking to it. Sounds like a good plan you have there.
Cbabie Checklists are our friends I read that book. I wonder now if I would have a different opinion of it. I might go back and read it Trying to figure out what you mean by clicking the tabs. I don’t think you can tell this cabbage is cooked. It’s so finely shredded it tastes like raw. Although I hate regular coleslaw
Trishastime. Treadmill-it depends on my mood. Sometimes I watch TV. Sometimes listen to music. Sometimes I just think Yaaay on getting on your treadmill. At 30 min I’m ready to get off but I’m learning to get back on at night to finish up any burned calorie deficits I might have.
I got in 66 minutes of exercise. Extra 10 min walk because I decided to walk to a different place instead of taking the car. Parking is such a nightmare And onto the next day which will be lighter. It’s my yoga day plus something else to reach my burned calorie goal. 315 exercise calories a day per week is my goal So I just keep checking that Fitbit to see how many more I need to go for that day.0 -
@cbabie I love checking boxes too. Good for you for going to the gym! And coming here! I'm sorry you are having computer problems, that can be frustrating. Thanks, I do have momentum and need to keep it up.
@TrishasTime I hope you can find some "me" time on your day off. Yes, but I realized that I don't have 60 lbs to lose, I only have 53! LOL So, I have to redo my plan.
@theslightedgeforever that sounds very healthy. Yes, definitely finding what works for us is the key. And likely, what works for one person will not work for another! Great job on the exercise.
Hi all! I am including a before and during pic. The before is my highest weight ever (248) and my during was taken yesterday (218.7). I didn't realize there was that much of a difference until I saw this picture. It gives me motivation to keep going. Today is supposed to be very very hot and I have to work in an non-air conditioned building in the afternoon so it's going to be terrible. But at least I get off early today. Have a great day!
1 -
Morning all!! I am on my way out the door...it's HOT here!!!! I feel so much better about the choices I am making..not all good, but growing!!
@trooworld wow great before and after!!! I would have never know the first picture was you. Yes you are on the path to good health!!! keep it up.
@theslightedgeforever I would STILL know its cooked..LOL yes I do like my check list...they keep me on task. I see where I didn't get it all done and strive to get er done...today!!
@TrishasTime You are making sound choices, I am so proud of you. I am so glad to get to know you and glad you are here! You always have a fresh viewpoint...I need that. LOL
Cbabie0 -
Morning all
Hot - I wish, it is bitterly cold here - The cold you get when there is no rain. Wearing layers of clothes at the moment. The roof man is restoring our roof (house is only 10 years old) he is banging and crashing up there for the last few hours. I lost this week The loss included the loss that did not show last week and my work this week, so I am happy.
@cbabie - I have learnt this week that one bad meal does not make a fail. I picked myself up and kept going and the scales have shown me I did the right thing. So what I am saying as long as the good choices outweigh the bad, then you are moving forward
@trooworld - Love the before and after. I hope people are commenting on how well you are looking
@theslightedgeforever - thankyou for your support, and your little nudges I really do appreciate them
Take care everyone
Trish0 -
Quick check in here.
Trooworld Loved the pics. You give me hope. I used to have nice cheekbones. Maybe I’ll see them once again. And my chinline.
Cbabie. Just keep at it
Trishastime. I love to nudge people just ask my sister
I did 23 min of yoga 10 min walk0 -
@cbabie that's great that you are making better choices, kudos to you! It's hot here too. Yesterday, it was 100F or more in places! Thank you, I'm trying!!!
@TrishasTime CONGRATS on the loss!!! Well, I don't know many people (I only have 2 friends and they haven't noticed the difference because the loss has been so slow). At work, they didn't know me at my highest. BUT...one of my work colleagues did notice I am losing weight and she asked me about it.
@theslightedgeforever Thank you. You can do it! Great job with the yoga and walking.
Hi all. Speaking of yoga, this Sunday, I am doing yoga with baby goats!!! Yes, there is such a thing lol. I can't wait! It's at the Blissful Goat Yoga. Unfortunately, it's supposed to be really hot that day (and it's outdoors). But we'll have fun. Today, though, is BodyPump day. I've got a calendar on my front door with my BodyPump days all mapped out so I do not forget. Have a great day, everyone! Stay cool (except you, Trish, you stay warm!).0 -
Morning all...I didn't eat well yesterday, but somehow, I feel like I am really on the path that is structured and secure. I didn't go to the gym and was supposed to go today, but it will be late as I have Worship Practice in a bit and my grandson said he would go with me..but he likes later, I like early. LOL
@TrishasTime Congratulations on the loss!! I wish we could layer...it is SO HOT here...it's been 113, 108 expected high, it's our monsoon season, but no rain yet.
@trooworld are you sending rain over here? LOL goat yoga uh? I would be running.. :0
@theslightedgeforever Yes you can nudge...or as I say NAG Glad you are keeping your routine
cbabie0 -
Morning everyone
Stayed in bed until 9am and read a book. Weekdays I get up at 5.15am so that is a real luxury for me. Today's plans menu planning and then food shopping - yuk. I would love to have a 24 hour grocery store and I would go at 3am in the morning when there is no one there. Especially kids that are screaming and parents that ignore them. I used to take mine outside and wait until they stopped rather than bother other people
@cbabie - I am confused - what do you do at worship practise? Do you learn extra hymns?
@trooworld - Baby goats - how interesting, do tell us how that went ?
@theslightedgeforever - are you by chance an older sister?
Hope you all have a fun day
Trish0 -
Trooworld. Baby goat yoga. That’s interesting lol. I’m not an animal person I’ll pass. Their voices would be destroying my sense of peace Keep up the good work.
Cbabie. I think it’s HOT everywhere. I know I am. See some people appreciate my nudges 😬. My family doesn’t. Ha
Trishastime. Oh no I’m actually the younger more beautiful sister. What a lovely way to wake up. I got woken up from my nap today by DH rubbing my arm. Evidently I yelled and flipped saying what do you want in a mean way. He should know better. Do not wake me up. Especially don’t touch me That’s why they made alarm clocks. Yeah I can’t stand screaming kids especially those that run while they scream.
So I was in a very bad mood and didn’t get in all the exercise I wanted to. Trooworld remember that cheeseburger I have been waiting on. We went and they had closed down the place. So still waiting. I’m not settling for just any cheeseburger.

@cbabie that's good that you feel like you are on a structured and secure path. I hope you get to the gym. We have no rain to send, it's dry as a bone here! It hasn't rained since...maybe April? BABY goat yoga lol. It will be fun! I will post a pic of me running from the baby goats.
@TrishasTime I hate the grocery store too for that very reason I wear headphones! lol I will tell you how the goat yoga goes. It should be fun. Good luck at the grocery store. I'm glad you got to read a book in bed, that sounds relaxing.
@theslightedgeforever lol...well, they don't set your expectations for the yoga class high, they call it "yoga light". Mostly, you are fooling around playing with baby goats. I am an animal person, so it's right up my alley. Oh that's too bad you didn't get your special cheeseburger! Yes, it's not worth it to settle.
Hi all. I don't think I will get much meal prep done today. In hindsight, I should have done some yesterday to make up for time lost today, but I did not. Last night, we had a really good salad with a lot of healthy fats, it was called an "Avocado Salmon Salad" and it was basically a Greek salad with salmon and avocado. It was delicious. Here is where I got it from: https://cafedelites.com/salmon-salad/
I went to BodyPump yesterday. It's getting a bit easier but not easy by any stretch of the imagination. Have a good day!0 -
Well I have decided to give WW another go at it but I will still keep MFP If anyone would like to add me on WW please feel free to do so Valeri_Mari0
-
Trooworld. So now you know what to do for next time I’ve just never developed a taste for avacado. The salad sounds good though
Valeri_Rose. Welcome. Maybe this time will be the one that gets you to goal
I did 50 min exercise. Treadmill stretching and a 5 min walk outside1 -
-
@Valeri_Rose I'm still a WW member so I added you. I hope you find your groove with WW.
@theslightedgeforever yes. Funny thing about avocado, I never had one before I moved to CA! It was a good salad. Great job on the exercise. Thanks for the highlights!!!
Hi all. I had a lot of fun yesterday at BABY GOAT YOGA! Yes, it's a thing. At least here in CA. lol Yoga with baby goats. They walk all over your backs while you are in pose, they stand on you, you hold them and cuddle them, if you are unlucky they pee or poop on your mat! (I was not unlucky!) It wasn't good exercise because we were mostly giggling and playing with the goats, but it was fun. Here are a few pics from the event. I came home and had a massive migraine from the heat (it was 100F out there, and even though I was in the shade, it had an affect). I only got one meal prepped so my week may be challenging.
3 -
I lost 2.6 lbs this week
2 -
Trooworld. The goats are cute and it looked like you had fun. That’s relaxing right there. Ok until you mentioned the poop and pee. Lol. Can you do a bit more meal prep tonight or just make it really simple this next week. Eggs or other zero point foods with a bit of something else thrown in
Gemwolf. Yaaay on your loss. Let’s repeat again this next week
The reading bug got a hold of me and wouldn’t let go. I got in 5 min exercise. So now I know don’t bring Kindle with me to breakfast. I sit outside each morning and just kept sitting til I got too hot. But then I was in a good place in the story.......so I said I’ll just finish this chapter and you all know how things went from there. It’s like one more episode of Netflix1 -
@theslightedgeforever congratulations, your plan is working!!! The goat yoga was a lot of fun (except that part you mentioned). Unfortunately, I get home every night at about 6pm, and I have to go to bed at 8pm, so that leaves me 2 hours to walk the dog, make dinner and eat and get ready for bed. So...not much time to make any extra meals, unfortunately. I hate eggs and barely can eat them for breakfast lol. I already bought stuff for my meal plan so I have to stick with that. Luckily, it's not too complicated. I'll just have to get 'er done. I know what you mean about reading, I'm that way too!
@gemwolf110 congrats on your loss as well! It's really fun, you should try it!
Hi all. My new plan is to go to BodyPump on Mon, Wed before work and Sat mornings. I couldn't go before work yesterday because I had to be at work at 6:30 so I decided to go to the 5:30pm class instead. It was a 50/50 chance that I would actually show up, based on how tired I was and if I could make it because of traffic and whatnot. But I did it, I made it. I peeked at the scale this morning and, if the number holds, I should have a good loss on Thursday.2 -
Morning all, I have been MIA and not staying totally on plan, but I am trying.
@trooworld yea no goats for me...I barely handle the dogs that my grandkids have..LOL
@theslightedgeforever good for you, yea the reading bug needs to get me...I am behind in many things.
@gemwolf110 you and Trooworld can do goat yoga together and I stick with my machine...LOL
have a great day guys
cbabie1 -
Morning everyone
Got sent home from work and went straight to the doctors - seems I have a chest infection, on anti's but terribly tired. Coughing dissipates as long as I am really rugged up No exercise for me this week
@theslightedgeforever - The younger more beautiful sister - love it Wonder if you will get a bite? Nice job on 50 min. Love your weight loss this week.
@valeri_Rose - Nice to see you here. I am no longer a WW member but I think a few of the group here are.
@trooworld - Is CA California?? Mmm.. I am with theslightedgeforever - no baby goat yoga for me
@cbabie - Trying is good, it is better than giving up
Got to go
Trish
0 -
@cbabie keep trying, don't give up. Yeah, the goats aren't for everyone! lol
@TrishasTime oh, do take care! I hope you feel better soon. Yes, CA is California. Okay, all the baby goats for me then hahaha!
Hi all. It's been really hot here. Over the weekend, it was high 90F-100F. Yesterday, it was mid 90F. Hopefully it cools down today. I'm going to the doctor today, for the past few days I've been having pains in the left side of my chest and I don't know if I've pulled a muscle at BodyPump or if there is something more sinister going on, but I thought I'd better get it checked out. I'm not going to BodyPump this morning because I'm having this pain, I don't want to have a heart attack during BodyPump! It's probably nothing but want to be sure. Unfortunately, my regular doctor didn't have any appts so I have an appointment with the one nurse practitioner that I do not trust/like. He's gotten a diagnosis totally wrong with me in the past. Oh well. Hopefully he's on point today.1 -
Hi all running behind today. I just dated down and have to leave soon again. No gym, but trying to stay accountable.
@trooworld. I trust you appointment goes well and hopefully just something minor. We gitnrain again last night...now its humid.....
@TrishasTime. Wow I hope you feel better soon. Good news is you have sick time..bad news is you have to use it..😁
Cbabie0 -
Trooworld fingers crossed the number on the scale holds
Cbabie add reading to your Trello board and stick with it. Maybe reading is just not a priority for you at this time
Trishastime. Yes no exercise for you. I kept exercising with a chest infection and then it turned into bad bronchitis and didn’t go away for a long time. I learned my lesson. Maybe something non intense if you don’t have a fever like stretching just to keep you in the exercise groove for 5-10 min
I did 45 min exercise including stretching
Went and got a Pap smear and my mammogram came back normal0 -
@cbabie it was something minor: it was a muscle sprain, so, unfortunately, no BodyPump for 2 weeks or until the pain goes away. But I feel better that I at least got it checked out.
@theslightedgeforever it did not! Great job with the exercise, I love that you are including stretching. That's good that you had a normal pap and mammo. I hate those events.
Hi all. As I said above, I have a chest muscle sprain and can't do BodyPump for two weeks which really irks me but oh well. He said I can't even do the treadmill because that would mean swinging my arms, but he ok'd me to do the stationary bike. I did go to bokwa yesterday and just didn't do the upper body parts. This morning, I weighed in and I didn't gain, I didn't lose. I guess that is better than gaining. I think I have a bathroom trip still in me . Have a great day, everyone!0 -
Trooworld. Haven’t got my pap results back yet. Just another one of the cancer tests to worry about. God willing all will be well I had a chest wall muscle sprain when I was pregnant. So painful and I couldn’t take meds. They suggested a hot moist bath towel wrapped around my chest while I slept. It really helped
I did my usual 30 min treadmill 10 min stretching and 5 min walk outside0
