so is 48% carbs and 24% fat not too high for both?

47% carbs and 23.5% fat would be much better.

j/k, it's fine, as are many, many other possibilities.

yeah i'm just trying to mess around, 500g carbs was making me feel more sluggish tbh so lowered them by 60

Why not talk to your doctor if your constantly having these strong concerns over nutrition? Mfp can only help you but so much. Every week you create a new thread with a new worry. You may have to really sit down with a professional and talk about these issues your having. It isn't healthy.

Then don't come here? And I don't mean that harshly at all.

Either way, get enough protein, train hard and eat enough food to gain and you will. That's assuming your on a progressive lifting plan and following it correctly.

In that case, MFP is currently a bad place for you to be.

Coming here and finding out that you don't know what you think you know probably isn't a great thing.

Get your issues taken care of first, then maybe try coming back, if able.

You know the easy solution to this? Change up your macros and see how it makes you feel. If you feel better, either keep it up or try even more fats.

It doesn't matter what anyone thinks is the "right" macro split; it's all going to depend on your personal preference and performance at different levels.

Talk to your therapist about this and make sure he/she/they know how you are using MFP.

yeah that's great thank you. Just trying out 440 carbs, 220 protein and 115 fat so lets see how this goes, the other ratio didn't work so lets try this

because its an impulse - whenever I get a thought in my head I need to seek reassurance, its part of my condition and its something I need to address :(

Respectfully, here's not the place to do that.

Good luck but you must know that if someone on here says "440 carbs, 220 protein and 115 fat is absolutely perfect" it's not really going to give you that reassurance?

Really think you need to break the cycle.
You don't actually even need to log your food, let alone hit some mythical perfect macro ratio, to achieve your goals.
Deactivating your account might be your better option.

Just so we're clear: I can't/shouldn't speak for everyone, but I'd be willing to bet the others would agree, so I'll include at least some of the others.

It's not that I/we want you to go - so don't think that. I/we want you to succeed and feel good about yourself. Right now, this might not be the best place. That's all.

You should probably address your mental health issues first, imho, because they seem to be complicating and standing in the way of attaining the physical health goals you have.

I agree. Mental health trumps anything else but really they go hand in hand. you're obviously struggling with the physical side because of the mental side of things...

Logging isn't a must. My son is currently bulking and he would laugh at me if i told him to weigh and log his food, he eats like a normal person and listens to his body. He doesn't log when he cuts either.

The OCD is very evident. You'll drive yourself crazy obsessing over trying to eat to exact macro percentage points every day. Set them somewhere that feels good for you, hit somewhere close to them and quit sweating such minor details. Guys have molded great physiques eating at all kinds of different macro ratios, it's not like you're going to find one "magic" setting that will turn you into Mr. Olympia. As others have already said many times before, get enough protein, be consistent with a good workout program and have patience.

    Qft
    Op -
I've met body builders at competitions that literally have never owned a food scale and don't track macros.

I don't think this is a healthy place for you OP. People see your threads and their eyes glaze over because they already know it's going to be some sort of questions and you over thinking it. You need much more help then mfp can possibly give you. Your only feeding your sickness by posting these redundant threads

Op we aren't telling you this to be mean. We're being honest with you in hopes that you can see things for what they are. It's not that your not welcome here on mfp, it's that this place isn't healthy for you right now. We'd love to see you post one day in the future once your healthy .

Thanks for your help, I guess I just need to stay off this forum. Btw do you guys hit macros or calories? I find I go over my calories by about 150g but underhit my macros by quite a bit

It's a good decision, this place is too troll and derp heavy and you are not in a suitable mental place to evaluate and differentiate between good sound advice and faddish trolls

There used to be enough people around from scientific backgrounds who were capable of talking straight to counteract the ridiculousness but sadly they have disappeared, or been disappeared

    Focus on your mental health

    Best of luck to you
