OH now THAT I would love!... I've never hunted bear before. When I lived in Arkansas, I lived close to a game reserve, so couldn't. We only had black bear around, though... probably nothing like you have up there. You probably have it all and much bigger ones

@Tweaking_Time
Crossing my fingers for ya that it helps the otter situation. And $200 didn't sound like a bad price at all. Don't ya wish sometimes that you could put underwater cameras in'em to see everything LOL Or at least cameras that could see through the murky water...
We call ponds, "tanks" here LOL When I traveled, I used to get laughed at a lot when I said let's go find a tank to fish in, they always looked at me like I was crazy, they kept thinking military tanks LOL But I still love bein' a Texan, hehe0 -

That's great to hear! Nothing like being able to provide for your family.
I just took this White Tail this past Sat. 5X5 at 300 Yards.

That is awesome! My dad got a good sized doe.
Top one is my mother's from last year the one below is hers from the year before. She has out hunted everyone in our group who have been hunting for many more years than her.
And the bear is my dad's first form 8 years ago.2 -

Get a clue. animals die to feed us. we top the food chain as humans. its how life is. maybe if you don't have the "stomach" to kill your own meat, then just don't eat any. its not pretty, not glamours but it is how the human race works.

Meat hunter here, I mainly go for does and cow elk, better tasting. I process all my animals myself. If you are ever looking for tips or ideas for making your own burger sausage, smoked or regular, I am a nerd in that regard.1

True cast-n-blast. We head out to a local lake where not many people go and setup early in the morning for dove hunting and fishing. Wet the line and stand around and pop dove as they come by. Not tons of flight action but enough to make it one of my favorite trips. And we get the pups to do water retrieves.

Start them as young as possible so they understand nature and the circle of life. Make it about the fun and the experience and not about success only. These are my favorite moments.

Go where no one is...the adventure...the exploration. My favorite places are closed to motor vehicles because too many people want to just drive in, step out and shoot, then pack and drive out. My favorite hunts take me hiking in miles where not many go. The country is rough and it's work, but more than worth it.

People don't understand that most hunters have a deep appreciation and responsibility in hunting or fishing, and being part of the circle of life. We are grateful for the bounty and what is provided for us.

What beautiful country! where is this? I am from the New England area and hunt mostly Maine and New Hampshire. sometimes you can go several days without seeing a deer. You need a lot of patience in this part of the country. Heading out the week of Nov. 7.0
