@UlvenFru, the first things that I would check would be the air pressure in the tires, and lubrication of the axles, the bearings of the axle should be packed in a heavy grease. Maybe for some reason, they may need to have more added, not common though. The axle lube may require a visit to the bike shop. As far as the handlebars, try straddling the front tire and hold it with your knees and see if you can pull the handlebar back straight. It might be too tight and not move. Don't know what type of bike you have, but that adjustment should be pretty easy if you have a minimum amount of tools.

I would very much like some input on an issue I have with my bike. It doesn't seem to want to coast properly.

Is a brake pad rubbing on the rim? Might need to adjust for new pads?

I can join in... I'd like to hit 750km this month; only made 700 for August, but a little cooler weather will hopefully let me enjoy the long rides a little more.

Up to 546km for the month so far. Lots of life stresses eating into my riding time, so it's going to be a push to hit 750...

698 down, 52 left... going to be a tight race to the end of the month between life stuff and a very windy/rainy/cold forecast....

Managed to get out tonight before the weather got ugly.... 770km for the month on 16 rides... mission accomplished... tomorrow is a beer night :)

Huge congrads to the folks who recently made their totals @columbus2015, @tcaley4, @Missnu13, @smyle5 and @Sp8zmanSpiff (and anyone else I missed who just crossed the line)!

Just got through my remaining mileage the past 2 days as I did a team ride (wow, the wheels make that easy), and a ride with some neighbors tonight. Off for my team tempo sufferfest ride tomorrow, but with the shaved legs, and fast wheels/tires, I suspect I'll have a much easier go at it. Getting a bit afraid I'm giving myself too much of an advantage, so I may just swap back to training wheels until my next race. I guess I'll see how closely my old cassette/wheelset lines up on the rear derailleur, as I'd hate to have to tune it when swapping wheels.

    9/3 - 19 miles
    9/4 - 12 miles
    9/5 - 14 miles
    9/6 - 30 miles (expresso + baseball commute)
    9/7 - 28 miles (errands + baseball commute)
    9/8 - 100 miles (Pittsburgh - Rockwood on GAP trail @ 14mph)
    9/9 - 107 miles (Rockwood-Hancock on GAP/C&O trail @ 15.5mph)
    9/10 - 112 miles (Hancock-DC @ 14.5mph)
    9/14 - 20 miles
    9/15 - 5 miles (train station home)
9/18 - 19 miles (trainer sufferfest during Sunday night football)
    9/19 - 34 miles (w. intervals - testing new tires)
    9/21 - 33 miles (tri team ride)
    9/23 - 20 miles
    9/25 - 57 miles (IM Augusta 70.3 @ 22.2mph)
    9/28 - 33 miles (team tri ride)
    9/29 - 31 miles

    Total: 665 miles
    Goal: 621 miles
    Done!

@UlvenFru - Best thing to do is just pick up the bike by the seat, spin the rear, look to see if the brakes are rubbing (if so, then adjust), if the rear is wobbling, if the tire pressure is low, or if there is a sound coming from the rear bearing in the wheel hub.

@sijomial - Glad your specialized roubaix was rebuilt! Luckily mine (2004 comp 18) has held up well over the years (although I'm on my tri bike and city commuter more as of late), and I think I've seen pics of @SingingSingleTracker riding one as well. Definitely a great endurance road bike & surprised how fast I can keep mine at given the more upright geometry.

    Thu 29 - 23.67 miles

    MTD 239.8 / 250, YTD 1950.67 / 2500

Pretty hard work, with energy-sapping headwind on both trips

@Ulvenfru - similar advice as @ohhim, it sounds like either you've got something rubbing or the hub needs lubricating (or is damaged). I would turn the bike over so it's resting on its seat and handlebars and spin the wheel from there - you should be able to see whether the rotating wheel is completely straight or is wobbling.

Sufferfest ride this morning was a piece of cake, as I kept up with the fast kids (even having the strongest rider pulling right after me at 30mph as I tried to recatch the paceline) now that I've shaved my legs, and swapped out tires/wheels (even without my aero kit). Got to send off 2 teammates to Kona after the ride as they are racing in the ironman world championship next weekend. Looking forward to seeing how they perform.

9/30: 53 miles - set out with the intention of doing a century this morning. Obviously did not make it. About 40 miles in I ran out of energy and headed home. Not sure what happened, as I've made it 60 miles before with plenty of energy left. I think I'm fighting off a cold and probably didn't fuel properly beforehand. Need to have something more substantial than a 300 calorie breakfast burrito apparently. I know I should eat more if I'm biking longer distances, but after 3 years of restricting it's hard to give myself the extra.

    Month to date: 211 miles

Just got over the line for the monthly target. Fairly pleased with that - was expecting a short month with 2 weeks of holiday in there, but wasn't expecting the 3 days off last week. One more ride should see me over 2000 miles for the year...

    166.6km for September

Not the 200km I was originally aiming for, but with some "extended" commutes in the last days, at least I made it past 150km. And I just realised I'm now at 1014.3 km for the year. I know some of you guys ride that much in a single month (I can't even imagine doing those long rides), but for me, this is probably 10 times more than what I did last year, so I'm pretty happy about it :)

Congratulations to everyone who reached their monthly goal. And as @2run2ski wrote, thanks to all of you for posting your rides! A few times this challenge has been what motivated me to ride my bike instead of the car, even on days when I might have otherwise been too lazy.

@_nikkiwolf_ LOL-- YES! Exactly! This thread helps me to get over the "lazies" and get out the door! Congrats on over 1k miles! I know, some folks on here are AMAZING road warriors. I'm just pleased to get out the door and log my rinky-dink miles. ;)

    @kendallvon I hope there's a new challenge, too! :)
