I think that there are men who prefer big or 'thick' women and yes that's just a preference. But there are also men who are 'feeders' and want to make their women as fat as possible and film them eating etc. That's a fetish because it's about behavior rather than what you find attractive visually.

So, most of the time, as it is in sex, people just have fun and don't worry too much about how the dictionary defines it.

I think any preference taken to extreme can be called a fetish. Preference = more attracted to a certain characteristic, but still open to anyone, fetish = focusing almost solely on one characteristic. When all the woman becomes is her fat, foot, breast, *kitten* or hair color she is with a fetishist.

I think it can be either. I suppose there is a line one crosses when a preference becomes a fetish.

There was a larger, taller girl I just knew from being in this bar I was a regular at in California.
