    I am 55 and almost 100# overweight. Can I start with walking short distance or is there a minimum for the challenge?

    There's no minimum. I was intimidated to start because I vary in my amount of steps per day. A friend on MFP recommended this group to me. I posted on this thread I was scared and people were supportive.
    And-any movement is better than no movement, so YOU GO FOR IT!

    11/1 - 7,380 steps or 3.09 miles - my goal is 10k a day but that is probably not realistic for me. :#

    Will update tomorrow with 11/2 total - so far over 10K :)

    11-2, 10,356 steps and 6.13 miles. Met my goal of 10,000 steps a day. Yay

    anything you like, any steps, amount, whatever you want. The challenge is to gradually do more for yourself. Not in competition with anyone else. Just for you <3

    Great job everybody!

    Slept late this morning, so had to take my walk tonight. I don't like that as much as early mornings, because it is not as cool outside; there is more traffic; i always have to pee :p Still, i managed 3.27 miles!

    Stats:
    2 Nov: 3.27 miles
    1 Nov: 2.6 miles

    Goals:
    • Take a walk every day.
    • Walk at least 60 miles by end of month.

    Working on that 60 min of exercise a day. Starting with walking the dogs. 38 min yesterday, 50 today. Fitbit numbers are moving up!

    I'm taking an imaginary Walk Across Texas: 857 miles down I-10, from the Louisiana border to El Paso. Since June 1st, I have walked 369.47 miles. I have reached Kerrville, TX (mile 369)!! :grin: Next stop: Mountain Home, TX (mile 387).
