I was thinking in front of our window to the backyard but there's a heating vent right in the middle and we like heat. I'm guessing it's gonna be in the hallway off the foyer. I need one of those you hang from the ceiling
Are you doing a real tree? Because I always worry about drying out the tree being too close to the heat. I thought about one that hangs from the ceiling because of my cats but I think they would just view it as more of a challenge

We always do fake. Hubs is allergic and gas strong opinions apparently about cutting down trees for decoration.

I'm now letting it simmer in it's 4rh spot. I've moved couches and tables. It's a bit ridiculous really 🤣
Slightly off topic I’m thinking of starting a Christmas tree farm. They mature in 6 ish years & I have the space. I shouldn’t have read that book

Real trees are the “green” option and help small farmers typically. (I have no opinion what kind of tree people choose. If my kids didn’t love cutting one down I would probably switch for various reasons.)

You should there's a Christmas tree shortage because of a drought and not enough being replanted to replace the ones cut down.

I watch the news a lot and this was the top story a week or two ago

I'm on my way in my pj's, no makeup, knots in hair...

ETA - thank God I wasn't in the store more than an hour bc this sounded so cocky and it bothered me.

Love Actually would have been a better movie if Mark had been in love with Peter and if they had eliminated the fat jokes and if Emma Thompson kicked Snape to the curb and if any of the characters other than Billy Mack had had any endearing or interesting qualities

Feel good movies are wasted on me

It’s a cast iron dutch oven and it was empty 😂
Eta: I want to add that you’re probably the person on here who would best understand how uncomfortable I was with someone walking around with dirty shoes invading my space in the kitchen and asking me personal questions and touching my food items. Thank you for being here

I put my 15-year-old in charge of the advent calendar this year. He bought the treats ( my money), is writing the notes, & filling the cubbies. I am happily retired. Now I lie on the couch and read A Christmas Carol aloud while they decorate. It’s so good.

Thinking about people who get back with their ex.

My cynical interpretation: You weren’t happy with what you had. Found your choices “out there” weren’t any better. Now you’ve decided to settle because it’s better than nothing.

My two cents - I think some people romanticize the relationship after it's ended. Suddenly they're left with all the good memories from the
relationship. Then they go back and remember why said relationship wasn't good for them. Or they think things will be better. Or they're settling bc he has long arms 😉

Some ppl just can’t be alone - I’ve seen this happen with my mom - she went back to my dad after like 30 years - and he’s still the same drunk she left all those years ago - hasn’t changed - but I don’t think either want to die alone - and I think they are just comfortable with each other 🤷‍♂️ - 2nd is my ex - she divorced her 2nd husband last year and is currently dating him again- my kids can’t stand the dude but that doesn’t matter - I believe she fits the scenario you listed above to a tee - before she married him she called me crying asking if I’d take her back - that was a hard pass - a month later she married him - ppl be crazy yo - I think I’d rather die alone then ever settle again

Especially when you’re an interesting person and know how to entertain yourself. It’s just not worth being with people who bring you down
