    This is the opposite of selfish.

    To be able to run and beat some younger guys in a 5k.

    To be able to mow my lawn shirtless.

    To make my wife more amorous.

    To prove to my family that we don't need to look like our parents.

    We're all here ultimately for the same reason - to get fit and healthy - and we all have our altruistic motivations for doing it (to be around for our children and spouses, etc., etc.).

    But what's your 'selfish' reason for wanting it? Want to look good at a reunion? Get back at a cheating ex? Women, wear a bikini, and guys, go shirtless at the beach?

    What is your totally selfish, shallow, artificial reason for wanting to get fit (lose weight, tone up, etc.)?

    Here's mine: I'm cheap, and fat clothes are expensive! I want to buy all the cute small clothes that are inexpensive.

    Can I just say on a side note that I love your tank?

    To look good IN clothes and OUT of them. I feel and look strong. To inspire and motivate my overweight girl friends. And most especially to have my kids feel proud of who their mom is on the inside and outside.

    It's nice to turn a few heads on occasion also. Male or female :)
