I started at 183 in January. I am currently 138, my goal is 120. At the beginning I thought this wasn't even possible, but here I am and so CLOSE. And honestly the last four months have FLOWN. What is better than the scale reasons is my over all well being. I feel fantastic, loads of energy and confidence. Nothing to it but to do it. You have GOT this. What helped me, instead of focusing on the finish line that seems so far off, I focused on mini goals and celebrated them(not by eating but by doing something small but nice for myself).

Also, I really want to join this thread! It is so inspiring to hear about all these ladies at the same height as me being so successful. I am 5'2.5 btw. I would like to get to 120, maybe a little less, just depends on my body and how I am feeling when I get to my goal.2

This inspired me! I'm 5'0 looking to lose 20lbs. Just started but currently down 2 lbs. more importantly my energy has been through the roof these days since eating better, drinking more water and exercising. Congrats!4

A little weight gain, but that's ok! I figure I've got nothing but time to get to that 117 -- less than 5 lbs away now!

Hi, I'm 37, roughly 5'1" (1,55m) and currently at ~156lbs (I'm from Germany, so I have to round my values to meet your imperial measures ). I like being that short, but for weight management it's a desaster. Most dietplans don't work for my/our very low BMR, so here I am, counting calories. Feel free to add me, my diary is open for friends and I try to stay at ~1000 calories on most days.
SW: 167,5 (April) 76,2Kg
CW: 156,5 (wow, that loss sounds huge, when calculated to lbs ) Just left the adipose BMI 70,8Kg
GW: 115 I think... let's see. 50Kg1 -
Hey all I'm 30, 5"4 from England UK, My current calorie goals are set to 1370 but with exercise I often eat around 1600 depending on how much exercise I do, I plan my meals a day or 2 in advance my diary is open to all, only been at this since 16th Jan this year but already lost some weight so whatever I am doing must be working for now... would be nice to have more friends with similar goals/stats to me.
SW: 22st (308lbs) -16th Jan
CW:18st 10lbs (264lbs) - 6th May
GW: 9-10st (126lbs - 140lbs) Hoping to reach this may January 2019??3 -

I'm not sure there's a way to join. I've bookmarked it and it notifies me when someone else comments (Look for the star at the top of the page.)

As you might can tell, I have just started over on my health journey. I found staying with my goals harder without the community. Would love to have some new friends to motivate me and so I could motivate them as well.

We use to have a group of regular posters on this thread who started their journey in the fall or Dec. I was one of them. I sometimes wonder if those that stopped posting gave up, so I wanted to post here one final time. I last posted here 11 weeks ago. Today marks 183 days in a row to log in but it has been only to record my weight fore the past 11 weeks. My final report --
Eleven weeks ago - 135.6
Last Sunday - 135.8
Today -- 133.8
10 more pounds to lose, then back maintenance. Wishing everyone well on their continued journey to good health!5 -
@Rebecca512787 great job, 2 lb loss in a week!!
I booked marked this thread ages ago when I first started using the forums. I still want to be active in this discussion. :-) it's really nice to see other shorter ladies and their successes and also they understand the struggles of being short. Struggle: when I have said I wanted to get down to 115-120 my MIL always looks at me with this horrified look. Then says something like "that is WAY too thin" like I'm going to be skin and bones. Hardly. It is a COMPLETELY healthy weight for my size and my body. At my height that is NOT even close to scary thin. What's worse is she has known me when I have weighed in that weight range(10-13 years ago). She is a whole 5 inches taller than me though and I think she images me at her height weighing that??

I've lost 10 lbs since I last posted.
I've also been tracking inches since the beginning and I take progress photos every month. Last month I started adding strength workouts in. I lasted a week of 30DS and just couldn't do it for whatever reason. Now I've joined some workout challenges: planks, glute lifter workout, push-ups, 24 hours of exercise a month(I usually do at least 60 minutes 6 times a week). My other goal is to get better times on runs. I have a goal to be able to do 20 regular push-ups in a row(never been able to do it, currently can do 12).
Since I am getting close to my goal weight, I am trying to add in strength, then weight lifting to replace some of my cardio eventually. And also so I can be ready to start recomp and maintenance.5 -
@roboliciousbob Look at you go!! Terrific weight loss job over the last 5 months. Congrats!
You're exactly right. I also enjoyed following the progress of women of a similar height. When I was almost at my goal weight -- ten years ago -- I joined Weight Watchers with the plan of weighing in every week to stay on track. Every week I was embarrassed by their questioning my weight. All much taller and heavier than me. I finally quit going. July 1st I'm going to start posting on a maintenance thread that is reposted each month for weekly posts. One piece of datum they include is height.
Love your goals of the push-ups. I need to move that direction myself. Thanks for that reminder!0 -

Big supporter of weight training, because it sculpts your body.
So many people just lose the weight, and realize that they don't like what they see in the mirror when they reach their goal, because they're just a thinner version of before.
But you want sculpted arms for the tank tops,
The lean backs for the sundresses,
and almost 6-pack for the bikini.
My goal is to reduce body fat, to reveal all the muscles I work hard to gain.
Great progress.

Thank you @Rebecca512787 I'm not sure taller people understand the trouble of distributing weight on a smaller frame. Gaining or losing even 5lbs is so much different on shorter people. And thank you. I'm trying to get in a different mindset as I near my weight goal. I like to focus on things for improvement/goals as it helps me stay motivated and moving.
@huango I am trying to change my cardio bunny ways. Although I do love to run and it is great for the health and burning calories, I really want to focus on sculpting, becoming stronger, and taking it easy on running (I have a bad ankle that is doomed to cause me issues the rest of my life). I don't want to get rid of running completely as it is my zen and makes me happy. I just want to cut back on amounts and change out half my time to weights. The nice thing, this month is the first time in my life I have been able to regularly do body weight(and some hand weight) moves. AND I am actually starting to enjoy it and I feel the desire to start doing better. I knew I had to start out with baby steps first though because I know myself. I know trying to start out doing just weights would have left me very unhappy and overwhelmed.2 -
How about losing 20ish pounds? Add me if you'd like!1

Nice to see this thread still going! I'll keep posting weekly weigh ins when I can...I've been at it since last August --found this thread in December. I've mostly been maintaining since losing 30 pounds, but it's been a real lifestyle change, and I'm finding summer to be hard. For the last couple of months, I've been weighing in between 120 and 125 -- currently at 122 -- and I have gotten rid of all my old clothes -- I figure that if nothing else, I'll stay where I am just so I have clothes to wear! I'm still hoping to get to the 117 range -- five pounds to go.1

5'0. Was at lowest weight this time last summer 128 and now have crept up to highest in several years 145. Hate the 10 lb yo-yo and ready to make permanent changes! Starting over with 146 as SW and 128 as GW. Feel free to add me0

I'm 5'0"
I'm recommended to eat 1,200kcal but I can't seem to get below 1,600. I don't want to 'diet' exactly but integrate permanent changes to my diet/eating habits.
I recently changed my evening meal from a normal sized dinner plate to a sandwich plate so I eat better sized meals for my height but it hasn't made any difference to my weight at all. I think I'm eating the same amount but spreading it out more through the day.
What does everyone else eat to live normally and keep calories that low? Especially living with taller people!
Thanks for your help!!!1 -

I have to choose to eat less starches.
It's not easy to eat 1000 calories in vegetables and even grilled chicken breast, but boy, is it easy to eat 4-5 servings of rice, noodles, pasta.
So most of my meals are 50% protein, such as grilled salmon, and 50% vegetable, such as a large (LARGE) bowl of mixed greens, radish, sweet peppers, cherry tomato, etc.
I focus on filling up on vegetables.
example:
I understand the struggle.
good luck.
