Good morning. Thanks for the support. I am feeling good today. Last night I was out and I started to feel like I needed a snack. So I had bought some nuts with raisin mix but it had salt and I couldn't eat that. I need to stay away from salt. Border line high blood pressure. So I remembered what the trainer was telling me about protein. So there was a healthfood store and as soon as I walked in there I saw these simple protein chips-spicy chilli. They were right on time and it reminded me of eating potato chips but the calories and protein was spot on.

I liked listening to the trainer yesterday but yes it is a business. I am just going to continue on my little journey.

Today is our potluck at work. Would you believe they had no salad or veggies on the menu. So I was going to bring my own salad. I need some type of veggies. So they decided to get a 1/2 tray of salad which was a great idea once I had brought it up to there attention. So I will navigate through the pasta and chicken and beef selections today.

@jeanniewes - hope you feel better soon. That flu going around stinks. I had it a few weeks ago...great when it's over. Rest up and get yourself healthy. It's a time to give yourself some grace and understanding for not necessarily making all your goals.
@jenfra123 - that's exactly what one trainer told me to do...only hire him once a month or so to get a new plan, and then work it in between sessions. He completely understood tight budgets, which was cool. And congrats on your NSV!! I love it when I can get into smaller sizes. I just had a similar victory and it was glorious!

Well, I finished the Amazing Race Challenge for the fall, and our team tied for first place. It was a hard fought battle (which is why I did the 9.11 miles on Sunday). @MiamiSeoul was one of our superstars on the team, usually getting over 1000 minutes of working out every week (I was more in the 600-700 minutes range). We all have admitted that we're all exhausted after the 8 weeks of pushing ourselves, but we're all looking forward to the next one, hopefully in late Jan/early Feb. I did my usual workout on Monday at the gym, but no miles. I did ABSOLUTELY NOTHING yesterday, but think I needed the break.

However, today, the weather was glorious again (it was yesterday too), and I got my new board out. Water smooth, light wind from the south, after the fog lifted, it was a nice sunny day, but not too hot. Didn't see much while out, just a few rays and sharks. The pelicans were divebombing into the water a lot today. My board is looking to be consistently faster than my old boards by about 4 minutes per mile. Got to try the new paddle today, but other than being a bit lighter, it didn't seem to be much different than my old paddle...though my shoulders seem to be less sore, which would be a good thing. I even walked to the store after my shower....but I needed to get some cat food as I had none for my beasts for dinner. All in all a good week so far!

    WOO-HOO Fab Fives!

My diet & exercise has been way off. The next race can't come soon enough, but your summary is spot-on as far as typical endurance & competition/challenge attention span! I'm beat.

It is a new picture ... taken Dec 13!

I graduated with a Grad Certificate in ICT (one small step above a Bachelor's Degree toward a Master's).

    And I'm in Tasmania. :)

    Ok - a better week.

Just over 10k steps a day on average, and another 15k peak day.

Jenfra - quite agree, many wonderful days here too - even the grey and misty ones are atmospheric. Life is for relishing!

Machka - congratulations. So well done you...

Paddlers both - well done, challenges etc sound like they are really keeping you going!

Plodders all - yeah some impressive distances being made....!

Jeannie - oh poor you. Hope you get fully well soon.

We travel off to Wales end of this week - so hoping for some serious walks to balance out the serious eating!

Good morning everyone. Happy Monday. The weekend was fabulous. I did have a slip up with the sugar over the weekend and from that darn office party. It wasnt too bad. The scale didnt move so i feel grateful for that. So today back on plan. Got my banana and drinking my water with lemon. I was able to get into a pair of jeans this weekend and they were tight but now they fit with a little room. Great feeling. This week is going to be a long one. Maybe my office will let us out early on Friday. Hopeful. I have finished all of my Christmas shopping except for one present that I am waiting for my mom to research. If i don't hear anything from her I will just get her cash and she can go for it from there.
