Hello all. Last night I reached goal one of two for 2018: 10 unassisted dips. Saturday I go for my second of two, bench pressing 200 pounds. I got 190 last Saturday. If i don't make Saturday I still have 16 days left. I am going to do this!

    Well done 🙂

Happy Friday friends! Is anyone else sitting in an office full of cookies, chocolates and other treats? I love the holidays, and I've avoided the temptations successfully, but I'm ready to not have so many around.

    With you there

Amen, sister. Someone else described it as "cookie season". I can usually ignore the temptations in the grocery. I'm getting better at it in the workplace, but it is a challenge.

Newbie here! I’m turning 50 in 3 months and decided it was finally time to finish losing my weight. I started at 450 seven years ago, and lost 150 over a period of three years or so, leaving me at 300, which was still120 pounds away from my goal of 180 ( I’m 5’7 and gain muscle easily). Unfortunately I then suffered a brain injury that left me with mild dementia. I could still drive without getting lost and remember to take my pills and such, but my social interaction went down to almost nothing and my physical activity went out the window.. alas, because of my relatively young age, my neurologist didn’t diagnose and start treating me for dementia until two years later. If the surveys gave the option of “ barely moved for two years” I would take that one. I’ve spent the last two years trying, sometimes strongly, sometimes not so much, to increase my endurance, and it’s gradually improving. My diet has been problematic. I’m trying to adjust to eating less food (haven’t had to change what I’m eating much as I never stopped eating healthy, just enough more food to not lose any weight and to gain back 20 pounds), but I have really been having difficulty with it. I would say that I have gone over on the calories 4/5 ths of the three weeks I have been on MFP. And yet, I have lost two pounds. Consistent. I’m staring to think that myTBEE(sp?)is too low. I will work with that as the weeks pass. As far as exercise goes, I’m still in the process of tapering down until I’m not wiped out by exhaustion. I started with two hours of physical therapy and eight minutes of swimming ( breaststroke), and ended up pushing myself so hard that I slept for three days straight! I’m down to one hour of PT a week and two 250 step pips on my Fitbit a day. I’ll see how it goes. I’m also going to try to not kick my butt so hard at PT. I Don’t Have To Need A Sweat Towel when I’m there to work on my balance. O.K., so I left out A LOT and my post is still hella long! If you feel like you would be interested in getting to know me better, friend me, and hopefully my account is set up so you can do that. Pictures to be added shortly!

Nice day for a hike. And my youngest daughter asked last minute to go with me. That was a nice treat.

This year I had 3 goals. 1.) Get to my goal weight. Done 12/1. 2.) Do 10 unassisted dips. Done 12/12. And finally 3.) Bench press 200 pounds. Today 12/15 I met that goal. I’m proud of my accomplishments and can’t wait to set and meet new goals.

    Awesome work, congratulations 👏👏

Hi all! I'm Kat, 37, from Los Angeles. I'm just about 3 weeks into my journey. My first BIG goal is losing 75 pounds in a year, and I'm down about 6 pounds so far, so right on track! I'm doing mostly clean eating and alternating HIIT workouts and cardio.

Beautiful! Memories made with your daughter...priceless.

Thank you IslandGal. I have 2 daughters but my youngest is my outdoor gal. Always great memories. I have to make memories with my oldest girl a different way. Glad you enjoyed the picture.

It’s tough. Little samples instead of full servings seem to help I think. Happy Sunday.
