Where are you getting all these ideas?

It's almost like you're going through a list of weight loss myths one at a time here and in the Food/Nutrition forum.

Obviously from people and that's what this is for. To ask questions. Smh. Bye

Ignore. People can be rude here. Who cares what you ask? Ask if water has calories for all I care. I think it doesnt matter when you eat really.

Eh, I eat heavier at dinner time. In fact, I eat about 90% of my calories with 2 hours of going to bed and have been doing that for a while now.

    I've lost 94 pounds.

    It really doesn't matter.

I don't know all the science stuff behind this, but my experience proves that it just is personal preference. I'm simply not hungry early in the day. I wake up quite early in the morning too.

In my honest opinion, it comes to a point where you just have to stop trying to be a perfectionist in regards to dieting/fitness. There are a few hard and fast rules that everyone seems to agree on, and beyond that, you just get a lot of muddy water, and mixed opinions. I started losing the most weight when I A) Stopped trying to perfect every aspect of my fitness/diet, B) Learned my daily BMR, and went by that where calories were concerned, and C) Tried to stop eating at least 2 hours before bed. Those are the only 3 things I do, and I do just fine. Do I lose massive amounts of weight per week? NO. But I lose .5 - 1 lbs per week, and I see a steady decrease in BF%, and I'm happy with that.

Please don't. Not only is there a search function where you can see existing threads on your topic, but there is also The Google. There are such things as stupid questions, they're the ones that are really answered by putting in a little effort yourself and using your brain.

    No you're a troll.

I don't think he's a troll. I understand where you are coming from. There is a lot of information out there, and it's hard (at times) to separate the good from the bad. I know that you want to make sure that you are getting good information, but what this person was trying to say is that THERE IS NO WAY TO kNOW FOR SURE EXCEPT TRYING IT FOR YOURSELF AND SEEING IF IT WORKS. Even if someone else has tried this, and has had the most success in the world, it doesn't mean that you will. Eventually, you have to stop seeking the approval of everyone else, and just try it, or don't. Have some confidence in your decision. People aren't always going to be around to give you approval on things. What this person is saying is that eventually, you are going to have to start thinking for yourself. And that's not rude to say. That's just a fact of life.

I only consume a 400 calorie meal when there is a full moon and the tides are at their lowest. Otherwise you gain fat.

    LOL! That's funny.

Lost 76lbs so far. Meal timing doesn't matter.

He is a very healthy guy. Is this true? I ate heaver at dinner today but still stayed in my calorie intake.

    Is what true?

Did the very healthy guy say this was the only way to lose weight? (not true)
The best way to lose weight? (could be true but only on an individual basis)

You should eat in a way that satisfies you and still keeps you in your calorie goals.

And, you should stop listening to all these people who keep telling you woo stuff. Also, when someone throws woo at you, say, "Here's the deal. The only requirement to lose weight is a calorie deficit. Every single thing outside of that is preference." You could even add on something, such as "I prefer (whatever it is)," or whatever. :)

I typically make dinner my largest meal for a few reasons. One, after a large meal I am usually more lethargic, or have less energy. There's probably a reason for that, but for me, I'd rather that happen in the evenings rather than in the mornings or after lunch because I have stuff to do and need to get it done at those times. But I have experimented with eating 5 or six smaller meals, and it seems to help me quite a bit.. however, dinner is still the largest of them no matter how I split up the rest. As long as you stay within your set goals I see no reason you can't eat however you want, whenever you want. It makes no difference for weight loss, or even weight maintenance.

That's a good point. I'm tired after my late eating too, and it leads to a good nights sleep.

The other thing it does is keep me full for a good part of the next morning/early afternoon.

I like to run fasted, because running with food in me doesn't work out very well for me. Eating close to bed the night before and running first thing in the morning without eating works really well for me.

Think logically...why would it matter? If you need XXXX calories to maintain, why would it matter when you take those calories in? If you eat under those XXXX calories, you're going to lose weight regardless of timing...

he said our bodies are designed around the Sun and we were made as hunters and gatherers and we need to taper off when it gets dark and we need to eat and work during the day if we eat heavy at night our bodies won't respond well to that.
He's incorrect here again. We hunted in the day and ate at night. Hunting at night would be inefficient because lack of light. Really, how much gathering or hunting can you do in the moonlight?
