Juice cleanse

So I got talked into doing a 2 day juice cleanse. Actually it's supposed to be 3 days but I know myself well enough to know I would hate that. I can handle 2 days. Anyone else ever do this?

Why would you do it for even ten minutes? Cleanses aren't a thing, and drinking juice is just removing the fiber and concentrating the sugar.15

Well I already paid for it and it's in my fridge so dammit I'm doing it. Also, it's not just "juice". Some of them look really dense with veggies.1

That sounds like a miserable thing to do for no good reason.
If you feel the need to do something to draw a line in the sand on poor eating behavior, just take up a healthy habit. Give up soda. Stop snacking or make better snacking choices like fruit or vegetables and hummus.11 -
Rather than be miserable for 2 days existing on juice, you could just have one serving every day and figure your getting a couple of extra servings of produce. That way you didn't waste your money at least.18

It's just two days. It won't kill ya. Best of luck with it.
Just be aware, a lot of people expect miracles from these sorts of things. A lot of the weight you lose in two days will just be water retention, which bounces back. Juice cleansing isn't sustainable long term (not that you're trying for anything like that) and it doesn't teach you anything about how to eat for life. This is why so many people are against it around here. At its best, it's a waste of time and money. At its worst, we've seen a lot of people end up yo-yoing on cleanses like this and never actually able to ease into something more sustainable. As I said, you seem down to earth about this, but most people here just hate to see people waste time, money, or energy on something like this.12 -
So, back to my original question- has anyone actually done it?0

Yes and was miserable. i almost passed out while driving, it scared the crap out of me.13

To answer the OP...yes, I have. It wasn't fun. Then I realised it wasn't doing anything for me (or anyone else doing it....got sucked into the claims) and never went back. /

Yes, when I was young and naive and dumb. I lost maybe 5 lbs in water weight then immediately gained it back. It was an absolute waste of time, money, and energy. In a few years you can tell everyone the same thing about your cleanse.10

Have fun. You'll gain back whatever you lose seeing that you're hellbent on doing it, no matter what anyone says.8

OP: never mind all the negativity, and .. um .. enjoy your two days with juice. It wont do you any harm, and with the calories you saved you can either give yourself a little treat later in the week, or you can lose some extra weight the coming week.
Since you already saved some calories, ut could be a good idea to keep your calories to whatever mfp has assigned to you after your two days.

No. I have never done a juice cleanse. I personally think it is a scam and a waste of money. I know a few people who have done them and none had any kind if real success. I did lose 68 pounds using mfp as designed and eating at a calorie deficit.14 -
OP, I have done a juice cleanse. It was absolutely miserable, and did nothing for me. I do use a nutribullet to supplement my intake when needing extra fruit and veg servings and/or protein powder.4 -
my ex best friends dad would do these things all the time thinking he would lose the weight. he was absolutely miserable,crabby,cranky,etc. He would lose water weight and a few days later gain it all back(this was in the 80s and 90s)he was in the bathroom often,but other than that they did nothing for him. oh and a few years ago I had to be on a liquid diet for a test I had to go through. I had to do it 2 days and let me tell you,its not fun,The difference was I HAD to do this for 2 days. I would never do it willingly4

Yes my old roommate did these regularly. He's 300+ pounds and recently diagnosed diabetic.
Needless to say it did not help.6
