This has been great thx for creating this thread. It's been a good motivator to get my butt in gear and be accountable.

Could keep this one going, perhaps change title to something different to incorporate further months?

    Question????

I found this thread very motivating. Thankyou all for joining. I was wondering if you would like to continue. We can either:
    - continue the thread as it
    - Start a new thread for February and every month from there on
    - Or stop

    ???

I'd love to continue. I think it's motivating and helpful to see how others are managing maintenance.

+1 Another vote that a new thread opens up every month and/or season. Even if nobody reads my updates, I like this checking in thing. Also, it's nice to see how others are doing, especially those who have been maintaining longer than I have.

I think we should continue as is, just maybe post our February numbers in February, March numbers in March and so forth. It's a great motivation and way to support each other, but I don't think breaking it up on a new thread every month would be as good. It it's all together, one can always look back for references without unearthing old threads.

Definitely up for carrying on - excellent idea! I've found this really useful. Maybe rename the thread so it's not just January, but carry on the same thread so that we can refer back easier?

    current weight 133.4
    height: 5'4"
    age :45
    Total Weight lost:42-45 lbs
Time it took to lose:5 months
    How long in maintenance:1 month
    Maintenance weight range:130-135

I am happy to join, I suck at maintenance but as I am getting older, currently 45, I don't want to have to LOSE weight again. As of today 1/29 I am 133.4 and would like to get down to 130...so I'm not quite at maintenance...but I am building strength and if I never get there...under 135 is acceptable.

Success/struggles of the week:Yesterday I passed up Breakfast at Big Boy, Donuts my hubby brought home and pizza he ordered for a party... I did enjoy one thick slice of homemade bread with jelly! It kinda sucks to be the ONLY one watching their calories at your house.

weight today - 128, has been for a week and a half now. Unlike me to hold onto bloat daily normally i fluctuate lots, I've not over eaten enough to gain 2 lbs, i may have worked out hard enough to annoy my muscles and make them bloat though i've gone pretty crazy on them and its also TOM next week so, i will wait till that is over and see what the scale says after that and address the issue. (if there is one!) My gut is telling me after TOM is done ill look leaner and my muscle memory will have bounced back a little more, hopefully!

    3 months to loose.
    happy range 128.9 - 131.8

    2 Jan 59.5 kg, 131.1
    9 Jan 59.2kg, 130.5
    16 Jan 58.1kg, 128
    23 Jan 58.6kg 129
    30 Jan 58.1kg, 128

Highs/lows- Happy with my first month of maintaince, I have maintained. At this point I'll be logging my food for a while. Without mfp I would be filled up on high calorie meals and slipping back to old habits. Still learning to reconcile when I get bit too light during the week but weekends aren't as active and I tend to eat more cico. This thread has shown me that it all balances out. Thanks for the thread what ever way it continues I am definitely in.

Time it took to lose: 2 years (maintenance was hard for me, kept bouncing up)
How long in maintenance: 4 months
    Maintenance range: 140 - 145

    Week of...
    2nd January: 143.6

    16th January: 144.2
    23rd January: 145.4
    30th January: 144.6

Definitely been a struggle this month, work stress is high and I'm an emotional eater. Trying to focus on fitness rather than a scale number but I want the number to be in control.

I vote to continue for February, but perhaps a new thread should start.

Success/Struggle for the week: My struggle this last week was my nearly constant cravings for sugar. What the heck is up with that? My success is that I aced my weekly Fitbit goals! Daily step average was 14,000+. Happy to finish out the month within 1 pound of where I started it. I'm ready for February!

    My name is Irina.
    Starting weight 220 lbs.
    Current 151 lbs.
Took about 8 months to lose
    Maintaining for 2 months
Would like to stay within 148-153 lbs range for now. Maybe eventually try to go down a little more or aim for recomp.
    January 2nd -152 lbs
    January 9th - 150.8 lbs
    January 16th - 152.2 lbs
    January 23rd - 152.2 lbs
    January 30th - 152.6 lbs
The lowest number this week was 150.2, and the highest 154. So overall I'm happy with my weight and the way maintenance is going. Still surprises me how much sweets i manage to get into almost nightly, i wish i could resist the cravings better. I think I'm doing better with getting enough sleep, that's a big one for me.

    GW: 175# then 165# & finally 160#
    SW: 196#
    CW: 160#
    Weight Lost: 36#
    Time it took: 5 months
    Time in Maintenance: 1 month
    Desired range: 158-162#

I will report my progress at end of Jan 2017.

I think that weekly reports are too frequent but, if there's anything meaningful to report in the interim, I will.

Here's my report for January (including daily weight and 7 day moving average):

    Week of...

    2nd January: 160.1/160.1
    9th January: 160.3/160.2
    16th January:160.5/159.7
    23rd January: 161.3/160.0
    30th January: 159.3/159.2

    Max: 161.3/160.3
    Min: 158/159.2
    Median: 159.8/160

Notes: 2nd full month of maintenance. No struggles. Success is in the numbers. Maintaining daily weight w/in a 3.3# range and 7 day average w/in a 1.1# range. Median for the month right on target. Much better than expected. Very happy with the results.

Maintaining calories on an average of 1853/day. Macros still 40P/40C/20F. Couple of "off" days but no serious backsliding.

Now doing just one heavy compound lift a day -- DL, SQT, BP & OHP using The Waterbury method that involves a 10x3 routine. Also currently doing 60 pushups, 30 pullups and 40 dips on DL & SQT days and on 5th day when I go to the gym and do 30 mins on the Stairmaster. Do 30 GHRs and 50 sissy squats on BP and OHP days. Strength is continuing to increase and activity level is satisfactory to maintain weight at current calorie intake level.

Total Weight lost: 111 pounds (goal was 100 pounds so I have a 9 pound cushion I call it)
Time it took to lose: 14 months (July 2015- September 2016)
How long in maintenance: 4 months
    Maintenance weight range: 145-150

    Week of...
    2nd January: 139.2
    9th January: 139.2 (3 weeks in a row!
    16th January: 138
    23rd January: 140
    30th January 138

Struggle this week- Trying not to worry about everything I put in my mouth even when I know it is within my calories. Since I had fluctuated to 140 (which again is still below my maintenance range and within the weight I had had consistently for three weeks) I was paranoid about it.

Success this week: I really do know how to eat for my weight and need to trust myself! I was 138. I know in my head that weight fluctuates so I need to just trust myself more!!!

    Total Weight lost: 85lbs
Time it took to lose: 9 months
    How long in maintenance: 2.5yrs
    Maintenance weight range: 165-170lbs (6' M)

    Week of...
    2nd January: 173.2lbs
    9th January: 170.4lbs
    16th January: 170.4lbs
    23rd January: 167.8lbs
    30th January: 167.0lbs

Success/struggles of the week: Had a calorie heavy couple of days early in the week so took a few days to flush down and get to today's weigh in. Definitely happy with the weigh in a a bug difference from the Christmas bloat and I can see much more definition.

Still tweaking the nutrient timing around workout days and finding a balance. But I've nailed down the calories/day I need to eat to continually lose weight each day. Next week will be tougher as it'll be less routine of a week but we'll see. Would like to be in the low 160's by spring for the upcoming running season.

How long in maintenance: I declared it at 140 last January, but that was too high for a petite lady. So not really in maintenance quite yet.
Maintenance weight range: Would like to stay under 125 at morning weigh-in. Was down to 126.4 after a month of pre-Holiday dieting, but am back up to 127.3 on TrendWeight today.

    Week of...
    2nd January: 127.2lbs
    9th January: 127lbs
    16th January: 126.4lbs
    23rd January: 126.6lbs
    30th January: 127.1lbs

Success/struggles of the week: Total panic bingeing over the holidays. I still need to learn to trust my body cues, be content with eating just enough, and stop asking food to be more than just fuel.

Same struggles. Life after work is just filled with getting steps and eating food. Really need to make peace with having fewer cals to work with. Contentment and an attitude of gratitude (and maybe a hobby) are the order of the day.

Struggles remain the same, though I have recovered from my cold and started working out again. So for my attitude of gratitude moment today, I am grateful for my good health!

Still struggling with the struggles. Attitude of gratitude moment this week: I am grateful for my job. It keeps me busy, I feel useful, and I mostly enjoy it.

    2nd January: 185.6 pounds
    9th January: 185.0 pounds
    16th January: 185.0 pounds
    23rd January: 183.9 pounds
    30th January: 183.0 pounds (trend)

Looks like I'm leveling off, which is good since I took a resting week from the gym and got more sleep...was feeling overtired and thinking was getting fuzzy, so I figured it was time for a bit of a break on the exercise front. TDEE seems to be settling in at about 3100-3200 calories/day, so still aiming at about 3000 calories/day to be cautious.
