Good morning, feeling kind of blah. I had such a good week but the scale says differently and I know I should not let this get me down but it does. Well I can only move forward and keep trying. Have a great day everyone!

    Morning Ladies~
I was a slug most of the weekend, got home here and did a load of laundry.. and got dinner together, Tom did start Pot Roast in Crock Pot..I watched Beaches original and the new remake Saterday and yesterday I watched the Princess Diaries 2 and American Pickers..
My DSIL said I might watch Faith another weekend end of Feb and that she is glad to help out moneywise for the lawyer.
Tom was planning on going to casino on Saterday and he called me later and said he got part way down and got something to eat and came back... Now I dont care if he went to see Elena or not.. and he would tell me that isn't what he did.. the damage is done...and any money I get I will be keeping out of bank account as that is community property.
Barbie~ so exciting about getting a new furbaby cant wait to see pictures

Love reading about everyone's NSVs and pics of pretty dresses (Katie's).

Strategies for this week: going to Pre-plan and log exercise and food. Eat more veg at dinner- it was a carnivore's dream at my house this week-cooked a standing rib Roast that needed to be cooked or lost to the freezer forever-yikes that was indulgent in so many ways.

I've got 3 weeks to improve my eating and drop a pound or two before my physical. Also want to strengthen myself up for travel- heather's travel illness scares me as I once experienced traveling while I had the flu--unbelievably hard, humbling, humiliating (imagine going through airport security being patted down and vomiting at the same time). I want to be strong and adventurous-while I actually feel very weak and anxious. Fake it while till you make it!??? My worries pale in comparison....

Stay safe all under the horrible weather pattern in southern US.

Got my spiralizer and wouldn't you know there is a shortage of courgettes (zuchini) in our supermarket. I know I can use other stuff but I do love courgette

Good morning all! Happy Monday! OFf to a great start! I woke up and did a 10 minute ab work out, and had breakfast. Zoodles (zucchini noodles), egg white, two yolk hollandaise with sriracha, and half cup of cottage cheese. I have my veg bag made for the day. The 10 minute ab work out is part of a week focus program my niece invited me to try online. She posts the work out every day before 5:00am (bc she knows I get up at 5) and she also posts a healthy crock pot recipe each day. She is calling this focus program Crunches and Crock Pots. SO...day one has gone well.
Kate- There weren't many courgettes (I like that name) at my supermarket, either. There were maybe a dozen small ones and I grabbed the six best looking to get me through the week.
Katie- You look beautiful in your new dress! Parents give nicknames and how they affect us is interesting. My blond blue-eyed older sister was called baby doll by my parents, I was called "cabbage". That stung for years! However, my daughter was "baby doll" and my sun was "bugaboo". So I guess I did it to my kids. I still call my DYS "Bug" sometimes.
Whoops! Lots of kids early! Time to fly ttfn KJ (kelly)

Kate - UK, MFP, for me, is notorious for overcounting my calories burned.

Gym machines, unless they give you the opportunity to enter your gender, age and weight, are usually set to the typical calorie burn of a 155-lb (11-stone) male--and they are often adding in the metabolic rate for the time, so can often be off by as much as 20 percent, according to the machine - here's a good article on the inaccuracies.

Don't know which Fitbit you have, but there are settings for the Fitbits online that take into account your weight, gender, age, etc., so I would tend to go with that one. Fitbit will also usually hook up to MFP, so it will automatically enter your calories burned. You can connect them in the Apps menu, and look for "Activity Trackers."

MargaretTurk, Gloria, and Dr. Katie ~ Your words are so wise.

Margaret, my last year of teaching (5th) grade was horrible. I was the lead teacher and the two teachers in my group did nothing to help plus one tried to sabotage my efforts. The students that year were disrespectful and just plain mean.

Here we all need to support and respect each other's differences and opinions and I think we do most of the time.

Kristina makes me want to jump right in.

    Cheri hope mammogram goes well.

Pip you and Kirby just glow.

Carol I am so sorry you ended teaching on such a difficult note.

Lenora I picture your childhood home with a home much character with all the history and remodeling it went through.

I am also sorry for all the weather damage your region has suffered in the past month. So sad for the families who lost children.

Alison I would be proud to have Lee as an ancestor.

My word of the year is Kindness and now I would like to add a good dollop of Respect.

Julianna here in historic southern Maryland. Today's plan includes weight training biceps and chest, and 25 minutes of cardio. Now it's out there! I could use help with accountability, please. Fueling-up with Fiber One and yogurt, 3 ounces of lean chopped sirloin, crisp salad, handful of black olives stuffed with cheese. Keeping hunger at bay and easing the soreness by sipping GAT "Muscle Martini" . God Bless Ya'll Real Good.

Hello Everyone! I've been trying to get back on track (for more a few days). This group looks like a friendly group where I can find accountability.

Grace – You only punished your DH, if you ate the last 4 pieces of Almond Roca & a Godiva truffle. Hey, I would have come over and eaten at your house, too. I didn’t do so great this weekend either. French toast on Saturday (more than I needed), yogurt with berries, at least 3 Halos, big hot dog w/bun, and my normal protein bar at night … about 1/3rd over my caloric intake; my exercise was ‘washing’ Cracker who had come in after following Louis everywhere (like his shadow) – out into the yard, when it was still raining a little. OMGoodness … she smelled so doggy! After washing her, had to wash the bathroom rugs, the clothes I had on, her bed and crate pad, and then take a long, hot shower afterwards. Today, I will wash the tiles and bathtub with vinegar & water to try to get the room to smell differently. Washing a dog, which easily took me 30 minutes (if not a little longer) shoved me way over the limit [I ate just about anything that I looked at] and the exercise did not help much. Don’t beat yourself up about it. We all do it at some point ... sometimes several times.

Marnie – I type, because it is relaxing to me; but, I do worry about posting what is 4 pages on my Word processing program. LOL! Not that my ‘stories’ would be interesting to others; but, it helps me feel a bit better that I still have ‘some’ memories. I had a MRI done back in December; and, after 3 weeks of not getting a call about it, I called the Neurologist’s office and got upset because his PA (who has about as much of a bedside manner as he does) told me, ‘oh yeah, you have mild age-related dementia’ (and something else); but, cannot remember what it was as I was ‘upset’ about the first diagnosis. I asked her to send the results to my GP (who I will see on Thursday); he will be honest and tell me what it really means. I’m only almost 66 (in March) … was NOT prepared for that. To hear that about my 75-year-old husband didn't surprise me.

Sharon – Both of my sons are very good cooks; and, they also have been washing their own clothes since they were about 8-10; or 9-11 … I got tired of picking up (or finding) clothes in the laundry basket that had not been ‘on their bodies’ any longer than an hour. DYS was the worst! But, his wife does not have to wash his nasty clothes, he does. He is a Wildlife Biologist and manages a ‘hunting preserve’ and when it is not weekends during hunting season, he is out doing something messy all the rest of the time. From the end of January through about the first of July … things do slow down a little for him. Not this year, however! They are putting in a ‘duck pond’ but he isn’t the one putting it in, it has to have a well; and, he has to be there to oversee it.

Leigh – Thankfully, it looks like the rest of the week will be free of storms; but, we will have a day or two of ‘gusty winds’. I wanted to go help; but, Louis does not want me to drive, especially after having another ‘dizzy spell’ this morning. I’ve been keeping up with my BP daily and when it drops down to 70-ish … I get dizzy. I’m not so sure I have felt better since being put on HBP meds; but, it has dropped down from 85 – 90.

Louis is of “French” descent … his great-grandfather was 1st generation American. His grandfather did not learn how to speak English (nor how to ‘read’ and ‘write’) until he was an adult … probably in his late 40’s or early 50’s. I touched on that in my post earlier to Margaret. My in-laws were the first couple to be married in the Catholic Church at the entrance into the Dixie Crystal Sugar Refinery in Port Wentworth, GA (right outside of Savannah, GA).

Lisa – I bought my first pair of size 10 jeans … they are made of that stretchy denim; but, they are not my favorite slacks/jeans. I do wear leggings, yoga pants, or skinny jeans with long tops. I really hate tops that are ‘normal’ length … mainly because it seems if I have one, Louis is going to ‘help’ me by putting all my clothes in the dryer. Now, thankfully, he will just tell me to ‘empty my clothes’ so he can wash his ‘work clothes’ (and towels).

Oh, I’ve got to clean out the freezer today. DYS is coming home Thursday passing through while going to a “Man’s Weekend” with some of his college friends. And maybe a few of his HS friends as well.

Sarah – I only get weighed in at my MD’s office (every other Tuesday) … I stay away from my scales at home. I want to throw them against the wall; but would not want to ‘try to explain’ that to Louis. They are not consistent and they weigh ‘heavy’. At least for me.

We (more correctly – Albany, GA) made the National news. This is the 2nd time in 3 weeks that it has been ‘slammed’ with really, really bad storms. Straight winds or tornadoes. It is BAD! Hit our old neighborhood (not so much the house we lived in – only 1 tree down and it had fallen down away from the house); but, other friends in neighborhood, just a couple of blocks away) had trees down, some in their houses. That one occurred at night. There are ‘tornado warning’ towers, around town that when they go off, can be heard for at least a mile in all directions. Yesterday 11 people in the area, lost their lives and they have areas they have not even checked; because of downed trees and live wires, 4 were in Albany. Weather Alert channel telling everybody living in a trailer to get out and go to a safe place. There is a tornado warning tower for our old neighborhood that's about a mile away, as the crow flies. When it went off on 1/2/17 - people heeded its warning. There was a ‘big’ trailer park in East Albany – probably 200 trailers in it, if I had to guess. - that got hit yesterday afternoon. Lots of military people live there because it is close to the MCLB. Story on TV (pictures taken by their city/county commissioner) was pitiful … with people milling around or walking down the street, some in a daze. Someone posted on FB that a 4-year-old and a 2-month-old were missing. I don't know if that is true; but 3 men and a woman lost their lives in the Albany area. It hit several towns in its path. I have ‘not’ heard that on TV – so it could be ‘fake news’. So many, all over the country, are having unusual storms. We really are not in a 'tornado' alley kind of 'expect' tornadoes and have shelters or basements to go into. Jenn called her Mother; she was in the path cone; but Trey kept telling her that she was not in its direct path and unless it changed course would be mile from it. I'm not sure if it made her feel better or not. Her little house is built along the lines of being a trailer, it just isn't one.

Put that on top of a picture posted on FB about one of the Women’s March with a banner that really upset me really wanted me to ‘ask’ … WTH were they ‘thinking’? I know that it did not represent all the women in the March; but, it was BAD! I commented on it because a friend had shared it; but, I was NOT about to share it because all it would show is how many times it was seen with the ‘hits’ it got or the number of times it was ‘shared’. Would not differentiate the ‘negative’ remarks from the ‘agreed with’ remarks. Really made me ‘feel sorry’ for the 2 (one was a man, hairy legs, bad wig, and socks on) carrying it. The woman was also made up to conceal her real identity, I'm sure. I sure would not have wanted to be standing near them when (or if) that ‘bolt of lightning’ hit! All I can say is … at least I won’t have to ‘answer’ for it when I pass on. They have 'free will' like the rest of us ... but it was just plain out blasphemy.

Louis poured out our rain gauge after it got 4” in it … in about 2 hours; and, that was before the 2nd line of storms hit. Kids came down twice yesterday.

Good morning from east Texas. It's lovely outside after a rainy dreary weekend. Finishing breakfast and getting ready to tackle my house and rack up some steps. I need to make a quick trip to the store for veggies & make a decision about dinner.
Tonight I'm teaching a crochet class at my church followed by attending a Bible study taught by my pastor's wife. Looking forward to time with friends.
Today I am determined not to do ANY emotional eating. It never solves anything.
Our 38th wedding anniversary is coming up on the 24th of March. I'm setting a goal to lose 15 pounds before then. I can do it but I'm going to have to work like I haven't worked in a long time. Planning my meals and seriously ramping up my activity. I'm a couch potato
