Plus, 5 weeks ago I couldn't even do 5 push ups and now I can do 50 so I'm actually getting stronger which is nice :D

Your heart <3 is lean muscle mass, too. If you look at my pic you will see that I am what many would say is a "skinny" type person, but I do what I can to preserve my lean muscle. You don't have to be a bulky, super-muscled person to want to maintain your lean mass. Have you discussed your health goals with a doctor?

They both look great, but neither of them are you.

I wish I was that lucky haha

don't be like that, you should work on being the best you can be
don't worry about the people in movies, tv etc
I wish you all the best, don't harm yourself

This actually made me smile so thank you :)
I don't think I will change my diet right now but I will keep an eye out for the problems that have been mentioned in the thread that could happen, and if I start to notice any unwanted effects I will reevaluate what I am eating.
I know its not the answer people want to hear but I have been given something to think about so you could say that I am in a better position now for starting this thread :)

Those signs will be telling you that the damage is done. But I am glad that you are thinking about it. Hopefully as the day passes, or in the next day or two you will start to think about what your goals are and how you can reach them. There is something to be said for health being considered along with weight loss. It's not all about aesthetics. Otherwise, you are just aiming to be a good looking corpse.

I have been wondering the same thing, I am a 5'6" 152lb female, some days I eat 800 to 900 cals and other days I meet my 1200cal goal. I never feel hungry, stomach never growls when under my calorie goal. I just feel like if I'm not hungry, I'm not going to eat (Eating when not hungry is how I gained weight in the first place)

Read my first reply, and then add in that undereating can mess with hormones that can interrupt your menstrual cycle

Uh....SO you don't care about your health and the rest of your life, then? Read the quote below.

The only reason why others have been saying eat more is because they care about you and your health. Really. We care a great deal. We want you to be happy and healthy. We want you to be able to achieve your goals and live to make them.

Do you care about your heart at all?

By the time you see the problems, the damage has been done.

This. So much this. Why ask if it is too little and then disagree with those who say yes? Please stop harming your body.

Ok so what about up upping your intake, and research a personal trainer who can work on how you want to look. you don't have to do heavy weights if you don't want to.
    I like this idea better

go visit a nursing home where people have muscle atrophy caused from not using their muscle or from muscle loss and see what you could eventually do to your body not keeping lean muscle mass or taking care of it(even at a younger age this can happen).

Very helpful input! I guess I wasn't super clear in my first post, for example maybe like 1 or 2 days I would be under, some days I am right on track and some days I go over by a hundred or two. Would this even out or is 1 or 2 days a week under still be doing long term damage in your opinion?

The feelz have jack to do with whether something is healthy or not...part of being healthy and proper nutrition is taking in adequate calories...a calorie is a unit of energy...everything your body does requires energy...when you don't provide your body with adequate energy, it takes energy from other places...like our lean mass (which includes your organs) and will ultimately slow or shut down "non essential" functions like growing hair, nails, menstrual cycle, etc.

You don't feelz hungry because you've crashed your diet and your hormones are responding accordingly...hormones are what control hunger ques...one of the first symptoms of under eating is jacking with those hormones and not feeling hungry...most anorexics claim to not be hungry...and it's legit...because they *kitten* up their hormones.

I didn't feel hungry eating 500 calories and exercising 2 hours a day when I was actively anorexic but for sure I was starving
