@jjpptt2 you are a brave man to have two Jack Russell "Terrorists" in your house. I have one that is a cross and she keeps me hopping. She was not a planned addition to the family, and I've allowed her to stay, despite the carnage of the first year adjustment.
These 2 are my second pair (had 2 brothers before these girls) and I've never really seen/gotten the terror part. I'm fairly active and involved with them, so maybe that's it... or maybe I'm just lucky, I dunno. These 2 are rescues, and we've had some challenges related to that, but not so much because they are JRTs.
And full disclosure - Zoe is all JRT (we got papers when we adopted), Rylie is not. Pretty sure JRT/Brittney Spaniel, but definitely a terrier/spaniel mix of some sort.
They are such good girls. Usually.
The rescue we got Penny from in AL had her listed as a Brittany cross. I have owned terrific Brittany's in the past. As soon as I picked her up from the transport chain that brought her I said "oh boy, now I see what she is crossed with". She was young, and didn't adjust to being a solo dog in an apartment. So she ended up with me on the farm with my two other rescue dogs. I'm pretty sure she was a semi-feral or outdoor farm dog before getting into the rescue pipeline. So living in a house was all new to her. She is getting better, but it was a daily occurrence to come home to some sort of carnage. I have 4 foot gates on all my doorways to keep her out of the rooms that I cannot dog proof. Here she is looking all sweet and innocent:
That's not looking sweet and innocent....that's the look of a criminal mastermind hatching a plan. Look at that grin. The Joker would be proud.3 -

LOL - so if I thought that was her sweet and innocent face, can you imagine what she looks like when she is in full blown terrorist mode? I keep telling her it's a good thing she is cute, it might be the only thing that keeps her living in my house.0 -

Our Plott hound was the size of a large mug when we found him running the road at 6 weeks of age in a secluded area, we named him Shorty because he was so small, look at him now at 2 years old and 115 lbs. later.
