    Nothing like trying to squat and deadlift on a low carb diet. Quite the experience.

    I've had no problems.

    yeah not everyone needs to squat and deadlift.
    I have absolutely NO problems doing squats and deadlifts on a low-carb diet, as well as HIIT. I do a targeted ketogenic diet to ensure I have the required carbohydrate intake just prior to my exercise sessions. And yes, I do TRUE "high intensity" protocols when I do interval training, to a minimum of 95% of my actual (not predicted) maximum heart rate.

    The "< 30g of carbohydrate" recommendation should only be for those who exercise "moderately" or less. I personally take in anywhere from 25g to 150g daily depending on what exercise I'm doing. Average for me is 45-60g per day, but usually under 10% of my calories from carbohydrate.

    Low-carb and daily exercise took me from over 350 lbs to 207 lbs ... and an HbA1c of 12.2% to 5.2%. My triglycerides and lipid profile are also outstanding.

    This is actually my first week on this type of diet and I love it! I have so much more energy, less cravings, and I'm not as bloated after eating. I've been a little hungrier today because of certain reasons, but every other day, I've been golden! This is coming from someone with a serious junk food addiction who built of a food tolerance (always needed to binge to the point of sickness to feel full) and I've not even had any uncontrollable urges to eat cruddy food since upping my fat and also my protein intake. I also notice a difference on the three days a week I lift, that I am able to push myself harder and lift heavier, resulting in awesome feelings of motivation and accomplishment. High fat, low carb is the way to go!!!!

    Update: Got my labs done today. Been doing LCHF for 50 days. My macros are 20% Carbs, 20% Protein & 60% Fat, with no limit on saturated vs. unsaturated.

    This is the result:
    Total cholesterol: 251 -> 216
    LDL 211 -> 141
    HDL 40 -> 45
    Triglycerides 468 -> 151
    VLDL 94 -> 30

    Also:
    A1C 11.9 -> 7.1
    Liver Enzymes AST/SGOT 215 -> 33 (15-37 is normal)
    Liver Enzyme ALT/SGPT 203 -> 66 (12-78 is normal)

    Your numbers are awesome!!!!! These are my macros settings too!

    Balanced diet always better . CARBS + FAT + PROTEIN the way it should be all year round.

    We are speaking from our personal, positive experiences. It works for us, no need to tell us what's BETTER if we're happy with the plan.

    Furthermore, I get plenty of carbs from fruit, vegetables, and nuts.

    Well put...I also get most of my carbs from fruits and veggies...when I don't, I bloat, gain and feel sluggish. I do indulge when I want to and I am still seeing NSV on a regular basis as well as losing inches and changing my muscle definition.

    Works well for me. I tried the just restricting calories route, but it doesn't work--Not unless I want to feel hungry all the time, and battle cravings (not really a winning combination). When I eat lower carb (<100g, 50-60 on average), I feel satiated, and my cravings for junk go way down, so its so much easier to stick to my calorie deficit and thus easier to lose weight. Plus I just feel better eating this way.

    What would vibrant look like to you? Honest question. It's hard to tell with the way that shirt sits on him, but from what I can see, he's in good shape (and comparing to some of the other videos, possibly at the tail end/just off of a weight lifting/strength training bulk cycle, which accounts for what appears to be a slightly higher body fat percentage).

    Also, just because people make their own bulletproof coffee, it doesn't mean they follow Bulletproof Exec's dietary recommendations or even anything close to it, let alone claim it as gospel to becoming "vibrant" or whatever ruler you're trying to use here. Many people that use different LC/HF dietary frameworks drink BPC primarily just because they enjoy it, or because it's a good way to meet one's fat intake goal.

    Balanced diet always better . CARBS + FAT + PROTEIN the way it should be all year round.

    It's these kinds of comments that make me break my silence..... We ALL eat ALL three macros (don't forget, vegetables have carbs!). We do NOT need to eat someone else's idea of what is "balanced". It makes the most sense to eat the ratios that make each person feel the best. Many, many common ailments in today's society respond amazingly to a low carb, high fat food plan. Neurologists, metabolic specialists, and other medical experts, commonly recommend this "unbalanced" approach.

    Additionally, some human societies consumed very few carbs, and at some times of the year ZERO carbs. I live amongst people who did just that for thousands upon thousands of years. Now that they eat like the rest of us, cases of diabetes, cancer, depression, heart disease, etc, etc (diseases that were NEVER seen historically) are now going through the roof.

    You might want to get a bit more educated and, more importantly, more experienced about things outside of your current limited experiences before thinking you know it all for everyone.

    ...... and I see that later on people in this thread are stooping to criticizing the appearance of others as part of their "argument". This BS gets so old.
