I found the conversation regarding our responding to posts very meaningful and thank you Becca for having the courage to get this going. I feel we are all here to get support and offer it in our own ways. Sometimes the way I offer you all support is just by listening and on a thread this is not visible. So from now on I will hit one of the response buttons to show that I have "listened", I wish there was a big ear icon lol!

I had an unfortunate occurrence last night. After exercising and eating well all day, 7 sticks of Kit Kat ended up in my mouth. Not all at the same time but in there nonetheless. This hasn't happened to me for a very long time. I know I am nervous to find out how my job is changing so that's probably it. Will do better today. Please give me heck Re lol!

Thinking of you all and interested in all of you. You are never far from my thoughts. My DH thinks I am obsessed! I find it fascinating how our personalities come out in our posts and our responses and reactions reflect the way we react and behave in real life.

Today I remembered to turn over the calendar page to March. It's the calendar I bought in Penny's church up in the Arctic last June. Lots of icy photos! Hope she comes back on the thread soon.

Good morning, ladies! Happy Wednesday! My son Colin took me to see Logan last night (yes, I love those X-men movies). I actually cried. I guess, I can't tell you more without spoiling it for you ladies that like those movies. Anyway, we ate dinner before we went, so I was actually able to walk past the concessions! Whoot! NSV that I will take!

Responding to posts- Please see me, when thinking of "why isn't any one responding to my post?" I am the perfect example of the woman who hops on, reads or skims the posts, responds to the very few that have stuck in her head and has to sign off in a flash. I enjoy and cherish every post that you ladies share! Sometimes I read and glean info; some times I glean the giggles from the craziness of your lives; some times I read and am bereft of a response because I feel nothing I can say can help. BUT...Please keep posting! I will continue to post the boring details of my life, because you never know if some one is looking for something to help them sleep!

Sarah you gave me a laugh, how did those kit kats jump into your mouth! and why doesn't brocolli just as easilly jump in? and while we're at it, a sleeve of thin mints , yeesh, that sounds like me! I avoid the siren call of the girl scout order form like the plague. I remember the days when the boxes filled up my hallways at home! I used to love freezing the thin mints, yum

Anyway, I prelogged food today and am rocking a pair of boots, just for the fun of it, gonna be an interesting Wednesday.

Thank you for all the "headlamp" suggestions for dog walking. Unfortunately, I am passionate about my bluetooth headphones and my head won't hold both. I am really OK about the flashlight, just whining a bit.

Renee, I started my journey on MFP at age 62 and 183 pounds after decades of failed attempts to lose weight. No one was more surprised than I was that it worked this time. I have no aspirations to do more than walk but I love to walk and even when I was in pain last year before my spine surgery, I walked for hours every day. Now I can walk pain free and I am grateful every moment. Great job on your weeks of paleo and good luck with the gym. I hope you'll come back every day and tell us how you are doing.

Thanks to listening to all of you, I know that my darling husband is about average in his self involved behaviours so I don't worry about him.

Morning all feeling tons better today tummy still a bit tender but ok I too love reading all your posts don't always respond but like others have said wish there was a way to let you know we are listening. If anyone feels the same and I think we all do then let us know and we'll give a little extra care.

HEATHER - Dr was not at all worried he gave me Buscopan and something to reduce acid, he said normally gallbladder pain is cramping and comes in waves as the gallbladder contracts for better or worse will take a chance

Regarding lack of clothing....our community used to have a fellow called "speedo man" who would jog through town, miles per day - no matter what the weather it seemed- wearing only his very clingy speedo's - and maybe a hat and gloves in the winter. It often appeared he was showing off a bit too much for general viewing, and the police couldn't do anything about it because he was technically clothed. He was in good shape from the running and never seemed to get overheated, lol.

Barbie and other winter/rain walkers.... what brand of walking shoes do you wear? I bought some very comfortable mesh-top jogging shoes at New Balance a few weeks ago (I went for them as their leather walking shoe selection wasn't that good and they didn't feel "right".)

I sprayed the NB with rain repellant but haven't tried them jumping puddles yet.

I dragged out my old Easy Spirit walking shoes I can make work with padded socks for rainy day walking. So just wondering what you other gals like. ES stopped producing the style I loved (Jumper) so have switched to another which seems good (Romy).

One more thought on retirement...when I was at work, I think my main goal was to retire -- have a schedule I could be in control of and do things we wanted to do when we wanted to do them. Leaving a job once and for all was a real milestone.

Now, I find the idea of goal-setting much different. The things I thought I wanted to do when I retired.... many of them no longer are as important as I thought they'd be. Or are limited because of DH's or my own health issues.

And so, goals like fitness/improved diet, which is what we are doing in this forum become more important, at least for me.

I can't say I'm getting much exercise but I sure am exhausted! I'm helping my daughter with the adjustment to 4 kiddos and although I had 4 it's been a while since I've been caretaker to little ones for a full day. The two oldest are sick and running fevers so they aren't their normal help. The real challenge is my go-getter daughter. Since she has no hospital stay the first couple of days are forcing her to rest and not jump right back into housework. If I weren't here she would be doing so. Started out today with blueberries and kasha. Blueberries always mean it's a good day.

Walk daily! Very short 1 mile walk today because of extreme cold and wind! Blizzard like conditions.

My keto diet has been going awesome! I lost another .4 pounds! Because of trying to cut the rest of my fat, I am not trying to increase the amount of weight I am lifting until I hit my weight loss goal.

Sarah, Ontario Oddly enough, Olivia had gained too much weight due to her kidney malfunction, so the goal had been for her to get back down to her birth weight, which I believe was accomplished once she was on dialysis. But your question made me realize we haven't been asking about whether she is gaining weight and growing longer, normal sorts of things to be asking about, so we shall ask about that the next time. We did notice the last couple of photos Olivia seems to be back on oxygen. We are careful to ask only a couple of questions so we don't create a barrage coming at them. It's still a fragile situation, both with Olivia and with Katie in many ways...

Lanette and Sarah LOL!!! The dreaded Little Debbie and KitKat flanking maneuvers are apparently well-known among strategists. They join the ranks of Cheetos, Thin Mints, and Donuts, who are also sneaky and seductive with their siren songs. The CEO of my company says if it tastes good, spit it out. Not pretty, but good advice. He is over 70 and as trim as when he was a teenager.

Barbie You made me laugh about your head not holding both a headlamp and bluetooth headphones. I guess you just need an extra hand as you said! They do make LED lamps attached to a retractable dog leash. I prefer a regular leather leash rather than the retractable variety, so that wouldn't work for me, but the headlamp option is fine. Curious about which brand of bluetooth headphones you like? I'm not happy with my headphones.

Wildfires destroyed portions of 2 small Southwestern Colorado towns that I drive through on my way "home" from Denver when I visit. It's disorienting and saddening to read about and see the pictures of Fleming and especially Haxtun, both of which I have driven through numerous times in my life. Fleming has a police department that writes a ton of speeding tickets every year which generates a lot of money for the town. The speed limit applies way past the town proper to the edges of the town and you don't dare go one mile an hour over the speed limit until you are PAST the sign that indicates you can resume highway speed. My mom got a ticket in Fleming when she was on her way to Sterling for radiation treatment for her breast cancer in 1978. The police officer was a horrid man, I am sorry to say. Not an ounce of kindness or apology, just a mean old b@$t@rd who took pleasure in lecturing an already fragile woman about speeding. She was going <5 miles over the speed limit. That was a long time ago but it still makes me mad...oh my, my mind went off on a tangent, LOL!!!
