Success/struggles of the week: I'm so close to maintenance so I decided to join in this month to keep myself accountable. I spent most of November-January accidentally maintaining around 110 because I couldn't give up my winter blah nighttime snacking. I gained weight in February after vacation. This month I've worked hard to get where I need to be and am happy to be moving into official maintenance. I anticipate this month will be a bit of a struggle as I figure out my maintenance calories, attempt to quit smoking and get more active to counter that. My goals are going to be keeping my snacking in check8 -

Thanks for starting this type of thread! I need some accountability in maintenance! Been lurking in the March thread. Thought I'd drop some more weight in March, but I didn't really (probably mostly due to some travel). Have stopped my reverse deficit for now (100 calories short of various TDEE calculators) as it seems like I hit my equilibrium. I am an amateur Stand Up Paddleboard racer and our season starts next weekend, so I hope to drop a bit more during the Spring race season.

Time it took to lose: 8 months
How long in maintenance: Since mid-January 2017 (2.5 - 3 months ago)
Maintenance weight range: ~120-125 lbs, for now (shooting for a consistent range of 118-123 lbs)
[Eventually would like to be down to a maintenance range of 115 - 120 lbs = ~30 lb loss total, probably will happen this Spring as my race workouts increase and I can't eat near enough calories to keep up with calorie burn.]

Success: Happy to see the water retention from my travel and then extended paddling this week has finally dropped.
Struggle: Making sure I get enough protein and water for my goals - was under on both this week. Also, failed again at getting my planking minutes this month...really getting tired with myself for not getting them knocked out.8 -

Happy maintaining!

Success/struggles of the week: My handy rice cooker is now officially hit or miss. Sometimes it'll cook whatever I put inside of it perfectly, and other times it'll heat up for a while before switching to its "keep warm" mode. It's not nice to get home and realize that a planned meal hadn't cooked. *SIGH* I'll be searching for a new model to get in the future.4 -

Success/struggles of the week: My average for March was still in range, but my weight the last few days has been below 126 and my trendweight has dropped to 125.5. I'm not really sure if I should try to get my weight back in range, or drop my range again. It is really hard to go from trying so hard to lose to trying not to lose any more. Last week my daily average CI was 2114 and my fitbit said my daily average CO was 1975 so I should be gaining not losing.3 -
Total Weight lost: 30 lbs
Time it took to lose: came off in stages over several years (with some unfortunate yoyo'ing in there)
How long in maintenance: This round, 2 weeks (in terms of days since I had a weigh-in anywhere above goal range). I "maintained" within 5 lbs of goal for about a year before this.
Maintenance weight range: 129-133
Is there a way to see monthly average weight in Happy Scale? I only see a moving average that changes daily, nothing for the whole month, but I'm new to Happy Scale.

Success/struggles of the week: I'm reverse dieting right now and easing back into maintenance. B/c I struggled over the past year, I'm concerned about maintaining long term (and whether I'll need to weigh/log forever). This weekend I went on a retreat where I ate well (followed my way of eating, fit in a few treats along with lots of healthy food) and when I came back, my weight hadn't changed a bit.3 -
Once again, I am at 115#. I have a lot more to say but will stay mum.4

Success/struggles of the week: Well I finally set my maintenance range. Its kind of an awkward range because the top of the range is still technically "overweight", and the bottom of the range is the top end of "normal" weight range for my age and height. It is the right range for me. My biggest struggle has been thinking about an upcoming 2 week vacation. It will be a free for all of food and cocktails. I want to enjoy myself- I don't want to pack on pounds.
I am still struggling with residual weight loss. My goal to add 100 calories per day each week is starting to close the weight loss but every week I am expecting to hit that calorie range that will result in a gain. It wouldn't hurt me right now, but I so want to keep the weight off this time around. I would like to start the recomposition phase, but I am not sure how committed I am to the weight room. I am doing lots of cardio and I love it, lifting weights- not so much. I could use some muscle recovery. I am hitting protein goals and hopefully that will help as I do some lighter weight lifting. Protein is 150g + per day. It seems like a lot.
Good luck to my fellow maintainers. I have found this section of the forum the most helpful. I am so glad you started it! See you next week...6 -

Success/struggles of the week: I'm seeing a bit of an uptick in my weight, which makes me a little nervous. However I've been lifting more, and more consistently, the past couple weeks, so my rational brain is telling me that is most likely the culprit. Plus I'm still well within my maintenance weight range. It's still a bit difficult to be ok with seeing the scale move up a bit.5 -

Success/struggles of the week: My focus this week was to enjoy filling food and I totally did ! I am really happy to be at this point in my life where weight is nothing more than data and that my mind is at peace. I am enjoying being mindful on a daily basis as well.
The semi struggle was on Thursday when I became very stressed out and running out of time for a deadline and I tried to not use food as a way to feel better. But ended up with going over my cals, which is not a problem since it averages out later in the week, but I felt uneasy thinking back at all the biscuits I ate. I did enjoy them though :-)
So learning in progress but enjoying it all the way.5 -

My trend line in Happy Scale has gone up more than I'm comfortable with since a mid-Feb long weekend. It jumped 1-2 lbs and hasn't gone back down. At this point, it's not just water weight. This is concerning because my pattern is that small gains are easy to ignore & rationalize, but at some point they catch up with you. I've gone back to logging this week, which has been my plan if I get to the top end of my maintenance range. It seems that I need to be about 1400 cals to lose .5 per week but I'm eating 1700-2000. I ate at 1700 throughout my loss phase, so this is a bit frustrating. I really don't know how I will cut 300+ per day. I'm hungry as it is and I get about 100g per day or protein. I'll track this for at least a week, see what my actual weight change is, and decide on my strategy from there.6 -
Lori If you lost weight with 1700 before, why deduct another 300 cals, especially if you are going to be left feeling hungry and dissatisfied. I'm in a similar position right now where I have only topped the hign end of my maintenance. So, technically I'm still in maintenance but like you would feel much more comfortable with a little buffer. I'm back to logging with a small deficit and it has made a difference. We need to remember that, now that we are lighter (even though my brain says otherwise) weight loss is slower.6

That's what MFP is giving me. I seem barely able to maintain now at a higher level. I am lighter now, so I get fewer cals even for .5 lb wk loss.4
