Success/struggles of the week: What a week! I binged like crazy and spent a lot of time understanding why. I am also stressed about a friend coming over and I am trying out some mindfulness exercises to keep calm. It does work but going outside, walking and readning has been what has really made the biggest difference so I'll keep at it :-)

I am really glad for this thread because I tend to forget how much progress I have made during the week and every saturday I can come back here and see in 'black and white' my numbers and where I was mentally.
Thank you all so much !

Time it took to lose: came off in stages over several years (with some unfortunate yoyo'ing in there)
How long in maintenance: This round, 3 weeks. I "maintained" within 5 lbs of goal for about a year before this.
    Maintenance weight range: 129-133

Average weight recorded from January: 132.8
Average weight recorded from February: 133.3
Average weight recorded from March: 132.1

    Week of...
    3rd April : 131.0
10th April : 133.4 (bounced up one day thanks to TOM)
    17th April :130.8
    24th April :

Success/struggles of the week: Maintenance has really been going pretty well so far this round, and I'm happy with my exercise and activity level. Still working with new Fitbit and reverse dieting to figure out my real calories. I have my MFP goal set now to 1820 with Fitbit adjustments enabled. Even though it says I'm burning 2100-2400 cals/day I've been surprised to realize most days I'm comfortably eating 1500-1800 and don't really feel like I could/want to eat more! Maybe my stomach has just adjusted to eating less after all this time? We'll see if I do end up gradually increasing a bit more and what my weight does at this intake and activity level.

How long in maintenance: since July 2016

Average weight recorded from January: 127.1
Average weight recorded from February: 126.5

    10th April : 123.4
    17th April : 126.4
    24th April :

Success/struggles of the week: My weight is back up in my range this week. Although I think it is mostly water weight from the holiday weekend. I guess we will have to see if it drops back down over the next few days or if it will level out here. I'm still just trying to find the right balance between my activity and my eating.

Erm apart from one new change to my medication this week I can't think of why/how this is possible. But for some reason I'm not too bothered about it.

I'm going away on Wednesday and I'll be away from home for 10days. Vacation/work combo. I'm not sure if I'll be able to weigh-in next week. If not I'll just have to come back the week after. Life goes on...

Success / struggles of the week: trip to buffet with the fam, tried many different things, enjoyed every bite, and didn't gain anything from that. I think it's time to lower my range a little, that's a good thing for me. Oh, and it was somewhat interesting to realize, that i don't have a large body frame, like i always thought was the case.

    March avg 155.9

    4/2 155.7

I was 153.8 on Sat and have gained 1 lb per day since! 3 glasses of wine this weekend and 2 birthday desserts. I know it's just a fluctuation, it just makes it hard to see how my maintenance tweaks are working. I'll be glad when my birthday is past, lol!

    Height: 5ft 6in
Time it took to lose: 16 months
How long in maintenance: 9.5 months
Maintenance weight range: 137 - 142lbs (aiming to lower this a little over time so that 140 is my max)

Average weight recorded for January: 141.9lbs
Average weight recorded for February: 141.2lbs
Average weight recorded for March: 141.2lbs

    Week of...
    31st March (for ref): 140.2lbs
    7th April: 140.8lbs
    14th April: 141.6lbs
    21st April:
    28th April:

Success/struggles of the week: I decided to not log at all this week and see how I got on (the eventual aim, if possible, is to be able to maintain my weight by continuing to eat mindfully based on the good habits I've developed, without having to log every calorie). So I'm a bit annoyed with the slight upturn if I'm honest. However, I need to recognise that there have been too many other variables this week to realistically judge whether the upturn is related to my lack of logging or something else - I'm still not back into my usual routine after hols/over Easter (both work and my workout routine are not back to normal yet), it's been Easter-so there's been more chocolate in the house than usual, and also TOM this week.

In hindsight, my choice of week could have been better!!

On the plus side, I've actually seen one of my lowest weights since Christmas this week, my weight is still trending down overall (trendweight is140.7lbs) and I didn't think 'free for all!' and go mad eating any more than usual just because I wasn't logging it. So that's all good. I think I maybe need to give it at least a few more weeks to gauge whether it's temporary fluctuations or real weight gain before I start to panic and go back to logging? I'll see how I get on next week.

How I lost it: My story
How long in maintenance : I declared it at 140 in January 2016, but that was too high for a petite lady. Redeclared it 4/14/17.
Maintenance weight range: Would like to stay under 125 at morning weigh-in.
Ongoing struggle: I still need to learn to trust my body cues, be content with eating just enough, and stop asking food to be more than just fuel. Life after work is just filled with getting steps and eating food to fill my evening. Really need to make peace with having fewer cals to work with. Contentment and an attitude of gratitude (and maybe a hobby) are the order of the day.

    January avg weight: 126.8lbs
    February avg weight: 126.1lbs
    March avg weight: 124.6lbs

    Week of...
    27th March:123.9lbs
    7th April: 123.3lbs
    14th April: 122.5lbs
    21st April: 123lbs
    28th April:

Success of the week: Went out with a friend and had a lovely grilled turkey, bacon, Swiss with apricot chutney sandwich for lunch, followed by a yummy chocolate chip macaroon and coffee. Picked her hubby up from his appointment, and he wanted ice cream. It was tempting, but I stayed in the truck instead.

Reintroduced leg exercises without weights and side planks. Outer knee is still stiff in the mornings, though.

Challenges of the week: No school, no imposed schedule. Guess who's been walking and eating? Also, I'm not loving this business of stabilizing my weight because the numbers have shot up. Will tough it out another week and hopefully will level off if I do better with the sodium intake. Going to try to make myself clean my bedroom today and rest my weary arthritic bones, at least a little.

You can do it, give it time, and adjust as you go. Keep on checking your weight, and that will help sort out fluctuations. And regulate portions, amount of snacks, drinks, etc based on that. This strategy works for me, good luck!

Success of the week: I remained calm and in control of my eating and I kept cool when things did not go well. I didn't use food as coping so this is really great.

Struggles: I did have one day where I was ravenous, so I ate more. At first I was second guessing myself but then I remembered maintenance is about trends over time and so I gave myself more food :-)

I am in a good place and cruising on ! Tomorrow I go on a hike and I am really looking forward to see and feel all the good work I put forth during my workouts :-) and hiking is great in itself ^.^

Success / struggles of the week: seems like SOS, too many sweets and nuts at night, that's my only downfall time. I eat really well throughout the day, and get too lose with nighttime snacks. Ughh. First world struggles. I'm still in my range though, and trend didn't change, so that's good. I was able to stop myself from getting into candy and nuts on Friday during the day , which was an accomplishment, but was easier to do than I've anticipated. Usually, if iget a taste of things like that, it's very hard to stop. I keep on going back for more over and over again. Have a good week, everyone!

    Name: Kathryn
    Height: 5'4.75"
Total Weight lost: ~70 lbs (I dropped about 10 lbs below original goal)
Time it took to lose: 10 months (to original goal)
How long in maintenance: since July 2016
    Maintenance weight range: 126 - 130 lbs

Average weight recorded from January: 127.1
Average weight recorded from February: 126.5
Average weight recorded from March: 126.2

    Week of...
    3rd April : 124.6
    10th April : 123.4
    17th April : 126.4
    24th April : 123.2

Success/struggles of the week: My weight stayed in the 126 range most of the week. I had just about decided that last week's spike was not water weight when it dropped back down. I guess I do need to be eating more. I know that my activity level is a lot higher than it used to be, but I don't really want to decrease my activity. I may drop my range down to 124 - 128. I think this is a good weight, but I know that I can't just keep dropping my weight range forever. At some point I do need to stop losing and actually start maintaining. Some of my family members already think I am too thin. My "healthy" weight range is 110 - 148, so I am still not even close to being underweight. I think the thing that is frustrating me most is that my Fitbit says I am averaging 1938 calories burned per day and I am eating an average of 2153 calories per day. So I should be gaining not losing. I have been told that I am obsessive because I am still weighing and measuring most of my food. But either my CI or my CO estimate is off, so I don't want to stop weighing my food as I am trying to be as accurate as possible. Plus I am trying to make sure I am eating enough. It seems to me that I am burning about 200 calories more per day than my Fitbit says I am.

    Total Weight lost: 30 lbs
Time it took to lose: came off in stages over several years (with some unfortunate yoyo'ing in there)
How long in maintenance: This round, 3 weeks. I "maintained" within 5 lbs of goal for about a year before this.
    Maintenance weight range: 129-133

Average weight recorded from January: 132.8
Average weight recorded from February: 133.3
Average weight recorded from March: 132.1

    Week of...
    3rd April : 131.0
10th April : 133.4 (bounced up one day thanks to TOM)
    17th April :130.8
24th April : 130.8 (trend weight is now also down to 130.8)

Success/struggles of the week: Good week. I didn't really struggle to stay on track, so that's always nice. ;) Good in terms of fitness and activity goals as well. Pushed it a little too hard on Saturday so I had to take an unplanned rest day on Sunday.

    My April Report

Total Initial Weight lost: 36# (196 to 160#)
Time it took to lose: 6 months
How long in maintenance: 5 months

    Average weight in December: 159.7
    Average weight in January: 159.8
    Average weight in February: 158.7
    Average weight in March: 158.6
Average weight (to date) in April: 158.5

Total Net Weight loss (to date): 35#

April weight range (min/max) to date: 155.7-161.2

7 Day Average Weight for the Week of:

    3rd April : 160
    10th April :157
    17th April : 158.4
    24th April : 159.6

Success/struggles of the week: Staying on diet has been my greatest struggle this month. Variation in 7 day weekly average and the min/max for the month reflects this. Ave cals/day are up about 150/day from about 1850 to 2000. This isn't reflected in my average monthly weight YET but my weight is starting to spike up.

My weight was 161.2 today which is the highest it has been in 3 months. So, I have to get back with the program. The main cause of the weight variation and spikes I believe is that I have been starting to drink more alcohol again -- mainly beer and wine --recently. So, I'm going to have to cut them out again. Those empty calories add up!

My protein intake is also way down from about 35% when I 1st started my weight loss program down to 28% in the last 3 months. I believe that this is mainly due to not drinking the soy milk/whey protein drink each morning any more and not paying as much attention to my protein intake the past few weeks.

My g/# of protein intake is also down from about 1g to only .8g/# body weight which I think increases my appetite (hunger) and is causing me to feel hungrier and to eat more.

So, I'm going to start making that protein drink again for breakfast and start paying more attention to my protein intake during the day to see if it helps to suppress my appetite and make me feel fuller again so that I stop munching late at night as I have been also doing recently.

I was pleased w/the last hydrostatic test result of only 10.1% BF at 158# on 4/1/17. However, I've gained 3# in the last 3 weeks and I assume my BF% is also creeping back up again. Not due for another BF test or scan until the end of May. So, I have time to get back on track. We'll see . . .

Just goes to prove that you have to remain ever vigilant in order to maintain your weight/BF objectives.

Hey there everyone. May thread is up running!!

I'm not home so I am unable to weight myself this week. Unfortunately, I've also injured myself and due to the pain and discomfort I have lost my appetite. I'm just eating what I can little by little. However, the medication I'm on has made me retain water severely. I'm extremely bloated. I might miss the next couple of weight-in too.
