Success/struggles of the week: Good, consistent week with a slight uptick as per usual. Off to surgery so no exercising for a few weeks. The worst part is having to cut back on calories for awhile which sucks. On to next week! Have a great one!4 -
Thankyou all for your kind words!1

Thanks for sorting out the May thread @fidangul. Hope you are feeling better soon!
Good luck with the surgery @Trina20402 -
Hey there everyone. May thread is up running!!
I'm not home so I am unable to weight myself this week. Unfortunately, I've also injured myself and due to the pain and discomfort I have lost my appetite. I'm just eating what I can little by little. However, the medication I'm on has made me retain water severely. I'm extremely bloated. I might miss the next couple of weight-in too.
Thank you, @fidangul for setting us up for next month. You rock! Hope you feel better soon, speedy recovery to you. Take care.1 -
Ugh...been a hectic month for me...but figured I should post my current info...this is what I should have posted last Friday...I've been taking a break from the forums, since I'm so very busy with other things in my life right now.
Sorry to hear of your injury @fidangul - heal fast!
Hope the surgery goes well and you also heal fast @Trina2040 !

Total Weight lost: ~25 lbs
Time it took to lose: 8 months
How long in maintenance: Since mid-January 2017 (2.5 - 3 months ago)
Maintenance weight range: ~120-125 lbs, for now (shooting for a consistent range of 118-123 lbs)
[Eventually would like to be down to a maintenance range of 115 - 120 lbs = ~30 lb loss total, probably will happen this Spring as my race workouts increase and I can't eat near enough calories to keep up with calorie burn.]
Average weight recorded from January: 123.2 lbs
Average weight recorded from February: 122.1 lbs
Average weight recorded from March: 121.4 lbs
Week of...(I weigh for record on Fridays)...
27th March (31 March): 121.8 lbs (Trending 122.57 lbs)
3rd April (7 April): 123.0 lbs (Trending 122.83 lbs)
10th April (14 April): 122.4 lbs (Trending 123.21 lbs)
17th April (21 April): 122.2 lbs (Trending 122.22 lbs)
24th April (28 April):
Success/struggles of last week:
Success: Finally saw a drop on the scale today after seeing some of my highest numbers this week.
Struggle: Trending up again this week. Lots of DOMS after my race on Saturday, and pretty lethargic with allergies and hormones (menopausal). No motivation to workout the past two weeks.
Success/struggles of this week:
Success: Trending back downward...think the DOMS threw off the trending last week.
Struggle: Been very unmotivated to exercise. Binged on Wednesday night - food and alcohol...no real reason either, so not sure what that was about. Sort of been in a funk lately. Trying to shake it off. {Note from today 4/25: I did get through it and shook it off...now I'm getting back into the swing of things}
I'm taking a break from the forums for a while, but may try to stick with this group as it's only a weekly rather than daily post...and honestly, I need the accountability...maintenance isn't as easy as losing IMO4 -

I had more birthday celebrations than usual this year, lol. It shows in my weigh-ins! My plan is to keep it tight for the next 5 weeks, hopefully to give myself a little latitude for our big trip in June!

Fidangul,
Feel better soon!

Name: mk
Total weight lost: 70ish pounds
Time to lose: less than a year (called maintenance at 130#, but continued to lose approx. 15 more pounds)
Time in maintenance: Another big question. May 2015 or maybe September 2015
Maintenance range: 114-117
Average weight January 114
Average weight Feb, Mar 115
Weighed in this morning after being away for several days at 114, which is the same as last week and possibly the week before.
Successes: I have been more active than usual, probably because the weather is nice and I can get outside and run and walk a lot. I also have not been as hungry as usual.
@kgirlhart, I had the same problem. It was hard to stop losing, but I eventually found my "me" weight. You will, too. Ignore the peeps giving you a hard time about being too thin. (Are they the same ones who gave you grief about being too big?) Sometimes you have to ignore (not sure that is the right word) the fitbit/MFP/CICO stuff and just find what works for you. I have my MFP cals set for 1800 and most days fitbit credits me with 1200 cals burned and I eat 1500-2200. My weight seems to stay about the same.
@fidangul, Sorry to hear about your injury. I hope you heal quickly and feel better. Thanks for setting up the May thread.
@Trina2040, Hoping you recover and heal quickly from your surgery. We are here cheering you on.6 -
Thanks for the kind wishes! I'm alive but sore and cranky. Moving around just a bit but mostly resting and settling in for recovery. The anesthesia was lovely; no wonder Michael Jackson loved it, but I had some very slight nausea so eating much yesterday was a no-go (a first for me, ha, ha). I'm sure my appetite will recover before I will. Cheers!6

Name: Jen
Age: 45
Height: 5'2.5"
Total Weight lost:140lbs
Time it took to lose: 2.75yrs
How I lost it: My story
How long in maintenance : I declared it at 140 in January 2016, but that was too high for a petite lady. Redeclared it 4/14/17.
Maintenance weight range: Would like to stay under 125 at morning weigh-in.
Ongoing struggle: I still need to learn to trust my body cues, be content with eating just enough, and stop asking food to be more than just fuel. Life after work is just filled with getting steps and eating food to fill my evening. Really need to make peace with having fewer cals to work with. Contentment and an attitude of gratitude (and maybe a hobby) are the order of the day.
January avg weight: 126.8lbs
February avg weight: 126.1lbs
March avg weight: 124.6lbs
Week of...
27th March:123.9lbs
7th April: 123.3lbs
14th April: 122.5lbs
21st April: 123lbs
28th April: 123.1
Success of the week: Went out to eat again. Sandwich, no chips. Chocolate for dessert instead of bakery goodies. Also started reintroducing some more exercises on my bum knee.
Challenges of the week: Not loving the rising scale numbers. Trying to hold on to the goals of finding maintenance and recomping.3 -

Time it took to lose: 3 months
How long in maintenance: 8 weeks

8th April : 64,2 kg
15th April : 64,2 kg
22nd April : 64 kg
29th April : 64 kg
Success of the week: I went hiking for 2 days and it was absolutely great. My workouts paid off, I could feel it :-)
And I planned out my food carefully and it all worked out beautifully.
Struggles: I struggled with goal setting and impatience but I decided to keep doing what I'm doing and trying to visualise my life in the long run instead of immediate results from week to week and I already feel much more relaxed.
@fidangul Get well soon!
(Edited to change the amount of weeks I have been in maintenance)7 -
Even though April was a bit of a higher weight month, I was happy to see the last two weeks have been slightly trending downward. During the week I keep bumping to my lower range number, but can't seem to break the 120 barrier (probably because my activity level has been so low lately). But at least I'm feeling like I'm solidly in maintenance.
Glad to hear @fidangul and @Trina2040 are doing better! Keep on with the healing!
See y'all in the May thread!

Average weight recorded from February: 122.1 lbs
Average weight recorded from March: 121.4 lbs
Average weight recorded from April: 122.4 lbs

17th April (21 April): 122.2 lbs (Trending 122.22 lbs)
24th April (28 April): 121.8 lbs (Trending 121.74 lbs)
Success/struggles of this week:
Success: Back on track with a slight downward trend. Still would like to be a bit lighter, so this is good. Did get at least one paddle in this week; weather hasn't been cooperating for more.
Struggle: Still not doing much exercise if I don't get out to paddle. Work has been very busy and I have been playing end of month catch up for hours, so it doesn't leave much time for working out. Need to be better about MAKING time to workout. Still need to get better about my protein, water and fiber intake - all been too low this week. Fighting some chest congestion today, and need to be healthy for my race next week.5 -

Success/struggles of the week: Oops - I forgot to update yesterday. And was really, REALLY tempted to post this morning's weight instead of yesterday's - I was 139.6 this morning!!!! But anyway - no cheating - that's the whole point isn't it!?! Food-wise all OK this week. It feels quite strange not logging, but I'm getting more used to it and looking forward to seeing if I can do this long term. Exercise-wise this week has been great - I ran my first 10k in more than 10 years! And managed to increase my lifting weights too! I'm loving it!
See you all in May's thread

Average weight recorded from February: 153.5
Average weight recorded from March: 151.8

23rd April : 149.4 by scale, 150.6 by trend
30th April : 146.6 by scale, 149.7 by trend
Success/struggles of the week: Went to the doctor. I'm more than half an inch shorter than I wanted to believe, despite having a morning appointment. My blood pressure is much higher than I'd wanted to believe, even after 15 minutes of quiet relaxation. Between the two of those, I'm thinking I might switch back to active loss, because while I'm pretty happy with the look and feel of my body, it's apparently not healthy at this size, and there's only one way to know if it would be healthier at some other size. I picked this goal range (straddling the very top of "normal" BMI for the height I thought I was) in part because last time I lost weight, I accomplished that with the assistance of disordered eating, which turned around and ate me the moment I loosened my grip on it. So this time, I intentionally lost very slowly and set a high target, and that seems to have worked in terms of better mental health. So maybe now it's time to look at physical health again.2 -

I've lost the birthday bloat! Today's weigh in was actually the lowest I've had in 2 months. The mirror has been telling me that I've lost a little bit, despite the scales, so now we know. My plan is to keep it tight for the next 5 weeks, hopefully to give myself a little latitude for our big trip in June.
