21 days 2 shakes a day, Apr 18- May 9

With traveling, holiday, family and friend functions, I need to reset. For the next 21 days I'm having 2 shakes a day, and a sensible meal. I feel like it will be just as much of a mental relief as a physical one.
Anyone interested in a 21 day reboot? I'm also using this weigh in template that someone else shared, if anyone would like to utilize it as well
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1R05TgMg7Xcv5rf5dAzfuNeaEOEJYtzeq5gBH5dEjnXg/edit?usp=sharing
^not sure why it won't let me link it, but the spreadsheet is there nonetheless.
Looking forward to it!

No such thing as a reset or reboot, nor is one needed.
14 -
There is such a thing, cause I'm doing one. And I "need" one.6

She's right, it isn't necessary. Just eat in a deficit, focusing on nutrient-dense foods that you'd be missing out on with the shakes.7 -
No thanks I prefer to eat my food6

I'm not asking for advice. This is what I'm doing. I know how it works.5

Clearly, since you're crash dieting away those lbs that crept back up. I'm sure it'll work this time

This is you assuming.3 -
if youve been here for years why do you still believe your body needs resetting like its a broken machine? Not only will 2 shakes a day suck (youll lose your motivation fast everyone starts out all excited for any new diet) but you wont learn ANYTHING about how to feed yourself long term, Youll likely cause more damage to your body thn good with lack of nutrients, And in 21 days youll just end up putting weight on from not learning anything about how to feed yourself.
why so defensive if you don't like being told your being needlessly silly dont post on here, No ones attacking you just telling you the truth. Many of the people responding have lost huge amounts of weight and gained a ton of fitness/health. We know our stuff. Learn how to eat. Eat at calorie level. Stop complicating it14 -
It's basically the slim fast plan. How many calories are you consuming?5

I'm in. Unlike all the others on this post I'll be supportive. I've been doing two shakes a day and a sensible meal for about a month and I feel great. I don't have sugar cravings anymore and have a lot more energy. And yes, it is a 'reboot.' My mother lost 50lbs in 12 weeks doing something similar through a weight management program at a hospital (and kept it off!)

Maybe because my family and I have done intermittent fasting for years, and juicing, that's why I do it. And we also, several times a year, focus on reconnecting with whole foods, and nourishing our bodies with the healthiest food possible. It's a great way to "reboot" yourself mentally and physically. Correcting bowel issues, mental fogginess, resetting bad habits. Juicing is a great way to do it, and 21 days is short and sweet, and certainly not complicated. If you have a problem with that, don't do it.
You are all making grand assumptions, when I asked a question for those interested in focusing on something entirely different than your arguments reflect.
Save it, guys. You exhaust people with your unending arguments. Unless you have something productive to say, that actually relates to me in anyway. After my 21 days, if you cared to ask (before you jumped down a strangers throat), I'll go back to eating my normal sensible diet, feeling refreshed, like we always do.
So, if anyone would be interested in taking 21 days to reset their patterns and mind, I would be happy to check in with you.6 -

Thanks. I've actually learned a great deal here over the years, esp regarding CICO. I'm grateful for that. I just mostly read, though, but truly, thanks for the warmth.

I wear a fitbit, so stay within my TDEE calories -500 for now. Right now I'm just mostly wanting to reset my habits, thinking, and relieve my bloat and cravings. My palette is a little disjointed right now.4 -

Wrong, there are tons of shakes out there that have all the nutrients you need in a day, Ensure, Herbalife, GNC Total Lean...to name a few. In fact, a child of a family friend has many health issues and cannot eat regular food, and his doctor told him that Ensure is the way to go. Many individuals in treatment for anorexia will also drink a shake similar to Ensure because it has all the nutrients you need to survive. If a reset is what she thinks she needs, who are you to say otherwise?

You've been doing it a month so far? Well, looks like I'll be joining you then. And thanks for your comment, I'm so glad you're feeling better. I know mentally I'm looking forward to the focus and routine of 1 thing, until I start feeling better all around. I've been feeling like a stuffed sausage, and it's affecting my sleep badly.
Oh, it's a pleasure to meet you!0 -
for Mrs. Seiger and Original Poster: Are you doing any snacks in between and if so, what are they? Thanks0

4lbs a week really isn't that healthy unless you are morbidly obese.

It's been awesome! I stay under my calories almost everyday. I have tons of energy, no sugar cravings, no bloat, and my skin looks awesome because I have basically rid my body of all the horrible things I ate before I started the shakes. I drink two GNC Total Lean shakes a day, I mix with 1% milk so I get a few more calories because I use as a meal replacement. I give myself a day a week that I'll eat healthy meals to get a break from the shakes, and have noticed that I'll actually eat less than I normally would have, so it's definitely helped with portion control.2 -
A hospital supervised weight loss program is rather different from what is being suggested here. Fo r one, it's medically supervised rather than Internet fad. Nonetheless, people will do what they want and find a way to justify It.7

I can have as many snacks as I need, as long as it's whole nutritious food, and I'm listening to my body. Typically I had 2 a day, it depends. Good question, though.0 -

Humans don't need to reboot as we are are not computers. What you're doing has no scientific proof that it's necessary or even helpful. And a miserable way to spend a few weeks. No need to be miserable with shakes.
I remember your previous posts. You got really good advice. Why torture yourself?5 -

It's not torture. And you are right, I think detox is a better word than reboot.1 -
So if you're going to go back to your already normal sensible diet after your reboot, won't you just go back to the way you felt before the reboot also? A reboot isn't really a reboot if your habits don't change, and doing something for 21 days and then stopping isn't going to help form new habits either. It seems like you'd be better off doing something more long-term. Also, I'm not jumping down your throat, just a logical assessment from the perspective of a computer engineer who knows if I don't fix a problem before I reboot the computer, the problem is just going to come back after the reboot.14

No such thing as a detox either. Your liver and kidneys do that for you. If they are not working, you need a hospital not some fad "detox" diet.11
