I squats! I think they are fully responsible for me doing as well as I am on the bike
And for those cursing sumo squats... Try sumo squats with a barbell lift... Not only will your legs want to assassinate you... your arms and upper back will be standing in line for a chance as well3 -

I felt exactly the same starting a challenge last month - I had to modify every single exercise as every muscle felt like it was going to collapse! But don't worry, it does get easier and your body will adapt and improve faster than you think. Just keep at it and you'll have so many reasons to feel proud of yourself! Everyone is here to support you and cheer you on - you got this!4 -

I'm also planning a bike ride after work today, but they're announcing a storm moving in. Not too sure how I, a novice biker, feels about biking in storm winds....1 -

Worst case, just keep repeating the exercises and amounts of day 1 until they're a breeze.. Then slowly start adding in more repetitions once it doesn't feel quite that challenging anymore. It's a matter of building up what your body can do. We'll be here next month with another challenge, and the month after that. So just keep trying and do what you can!
Also, don't try to do too much too fast as that's a direct line to an injury and we don't want injuries
In January, I kept on doing the same 10 push-ups over and over again (I've got extremely week upper body muscles). It's frustrating, but eventually you'll see progress. I have to modify quite a few exercises to prevent a back injury from flaring. I have a hyper-mobile spine, so it doesn't take much to cause me excruciating pain (about 10 crunches will do it...). I have to build my core muscles while balancing the needs of my body. Not always easy.3 -
