How much caffeine do you drink and do you find it helps or hiders your weight loss (or other goals)? Does it interrupt your hunger in any good or bad ways? Has anyone got interesting caffeine stories? Coffee drinker here, three cups a day, no sleep issues but sometimes jittery, with much happier workouts after my first or second cup of the day.

I have a Tassimo machine so I have either one caramel latte or one vanilla latte with my breakfast and then it's water for me for the rest of the day, just because that's how I like it. I can't say that it affects me either way because I eat a big breakfast and snack in the morning before a high protein lunch but I suppose it could make you hungrier? IDK. If it works for you, why try and fix it?1

5 cups of coffee a day

One diet coke per day1

I drink around 10 black tea a day and then take caffeine pills before long runs.3
-
1-2 cans of Diet Dr Pepper, either regular or cherry2
-
2-3 cups of coffee a day and 1-2 cans of diet soda a day.
Caffeine has had no affect of my weight, though during my active weight loss phase I found that diet soda helped me quite a bit (when I wanted something sweet I'd have a can instead).3 -
One cup of coffee and two espressos a day usually. No issues with weight loss. I find I am more alert and have better workouts when I have caffeine.2

I drink about a pot of coffee per day, a couple diet sodas, and when I work out...still take a pre-workout. I dunno. It's a lot but I like it1

I drink two or three Pepsi max a day. It doesn't cause sleep problems and gives me a boost of energy.0

Once a day.0

3 cans of Diet Coke a day0

Depends on how deep into a cut I am
At maintence or the start of a cut
2-3 coffees a day.
Deep into a cut basically an iv drip
Of the stuff3 -
A lot!1

20 oz of black dark roast coffee a day. Helps suppress appetite and increases energy.1

I cut back from 12 to about 8 cups of coffee a day. It makes no difference for me for weight or hunger. I might be a coffee addict though.6

Normally one cup of strong coffee, one diet coke and six cups of tea a day.
On a big cycle ride I will consume a lot more as it's in a lot of sports drinks and gels.
Might take a big caffeine pill if struggling with fatigue but it doesn't do a lot for me.
Not really responsive to caffeine, doesn't make me jittery, doesn't affect my sleep. Even a couple of double expresso coffees before riding my motorbike home from a nightshift didn't stop me falling asleep.... Luckily woke up just in time before I rode into an oncoming bus.4 -

Duuuude, be careful!3 -
As much as I possibly can....
Used to drink 6-12 cans diet code red mtn dew a day. Found it much cheaper to take caffeine pills. It doesnt do anything but make me human and awake. Otherwise I nod off constantly all day and feel like I am walking through jello. No workout if no caffeine.
Then again, I might just need a vacation (finally) !1 -
In the morning, usually 2 cups of coffee. Occasionally one more, or tea, in the afternoon. If I'm going to have any more than that it will be tea. I haven't had any problems and I think it helps with alertness and my activity level throughout the day.1

All my fluids contain caffeine, all 10 cups worth
I need alot of sleep naturally and have 2 kids who think sleep is for the weak (12 year old has never had a full nights sleep, she gets maybe 4 hours of broken sleep and a 15 month old who wakes frequently) so caffeine is needed to keep me awake2 -
If I'm just making coffee for myself, I fill the water up to the 6 cup mark and usually drink most of that. My workouts are great when I can get my coffee in beforehand. And I do IF so drinking just coffee in the mornings helps keep me satisfied so I don't want to eat until around 12:30pm.1

So much coffee. All day. Supplemented with diet doctor pepper. Quick espresso 20 minutes before a run definitely improves my performance1
-
1-2 cups of coffee, supplement with caffeine tablet before workouts. I use Chrystal Light with Energy and drink about 24 ounces of that. I rarely drink soda but when I do, its Diet Cherry/Reg Diet Dr Pepper or Diet Mt Dew.

I experiment with IF too. My stomach seems to like just that cup or two of black coffee and just running on empty til I get hungry at noon or 1:00.deputy_randolph wrote: »I cut back from 12 to about 8 cups of coffee a day. I used to manage at a Starbucks. I drank up to 10 espresso drinks a day. Enjoying 3 cups a day now.glassofroses wrote: »IDK. If it works for you, why try and fix it?
Agree. So a bodywork therapist I saw said my liver area looked tight and it could be too much caffeine. Inspired me to ask around here...

I have 2 cups of coffee in the morning and maybe a diet coke during the day. The diet coke has to be around lunch time because for me caffeine will keep me up at night. Too much caffeine will keep me up at night so I have to be careful with how much and when I drink it.1

I have about 6 cups of coffee a day3

I weighed this stuff on a scale. At work I consume 39 ounces per day, and at home I consume 52 ounces on weekends. Black. It does not hinder weight loss, and in some ways I think it promotes regularity.1

I drink pre workout drinks for caffeine even though I know I shouldn't. I have 2-3 each day and they're the equivalent to 2-3 cups of coffee.
I don't think I get an extra boost from them, I just don't get a headache or go through caffeine withdrawal if I drink them.
I 2-3 years ago I got all my caffeine from Coca Cola and Pepsi Max.0 -
I sip around 2 cups of coffee a day. Some days more some days less. I used to drink a lot more when I worked in an office, basically sipped coffee all day.
I go in waves with diet soda - sometimes it's all I drink (after coffee in the morning) other times I only drink water.
I don't think it affects me much. I try to stop drinking coffee after 3pm because it affects my bedtime. I just have a habit of liking to sip coffee while driving. I have a travel Thermos mug and it keeps my coffee hot all day. I bring it with me in the car in the morning and leave it the car until my last drive of the day.1 -
I drink 4-6 cups of coffee per day. I try not to drink it after 3 or 4 pm, unless I'm going to be working very late, because it keeps me up.2
