As a truck driver I lost 189 pounds using the app

I started out on this journey in February 2014. I was weighing very close to 400 pounds. I was a size 54 waist and they were tight. 3x shirt needing a 4x. Every meal at the time was causing chest pains. Constant acid reflux. Multiple other issues. Now today. 197 pounds. Size large shirt. Waist 36. Sure I get hangry at times. But the food I eat is to live. I used no surgeries. No magical pill. Hell I haven't even worked out til a month ago. All I did was be honest with myself when I started the app My Fitness pal. I gave it a honest shot. It didn't even start out as diet, but, as a watch what I'm eating thing. My wife saved my life. 10 thousand million thank yous to her. And Thanks to the creators of my fitness pal. I will continue to use the app to maintain weight but as of now I'm officially done losing weight. And thank you all for your support and kind words of encouragement through the years. Anyone wanting to lose, I'll help you. I did it as a trucker in the oilfield eating truckstop foods. Weight loss can be achieved. Get your head in the game is all I can really say. Thanks again God Bless

What a great testament! I want to know your truck stop tips. What is your favourite meal today?1

It was a tough road at first, but then I got in a groove. The cravings went away. I haven't had a soda in 3 years, and I do not miss them. Water, coffee and an occasional sweet tea is what I drink. As far as favorite food to eat from a truckstop? Since I've started a lot of places have changed and offer great food, my favorite is a grilled chicken breast with fresh veggies and a baked potato and dinner salad. A lot of food and I normally have leftovers for another meal10

Most couldn't believe I had done it. However I have inspired so many of them and their family to get up and do something. I'm not taking credit by a lot of my family has been on the same road for a year now. They did the keto diet. As I've said before I didn't start as a diet and I really don't consider it one now, just healthier choices. And the one lady who asked about truckstop tips? Nowadays they are starting to offer healthier food for quick grabs. So I look for fruit cups or fresh fruit if I don't already have some in my truck. Also a couple of them offer up soups and I love soup. Usually get a vegetarian minestrone and get 1 chicken tender and cut it up And stir into the soup. I look for truckstop that have subway, but even there you got to really study what you get because it's easy to go from healthy, to thinking it's healthy but in reality it's horrible. (but tasty I'm sure lol)
Also I grab a kind bar or special k bar to help curve the sweet tooth. And McDonald's oatmeal is great so is the fruit and yogurt parfait. I can grab a egg white delight meal and substitute Apple slices for the hashbrowns. Some do this free of charge. If They do not? Paying 50cents to a dollar extra for healthier eating don't bother me. Another great grab is Wendy's baked potato and small chili with 1 sour cream pack. No butter. No cheese. But that's me. I can go on with this.28 -

You are the perfect example for those who say "I wish I could lose weight but its impossible with my job/family/busy lifestyle/[insert excuse here]". No-one ever said it was easy, but its not complicated, its down to individual willpower and discipline. Well done you for sticking with it, you look great.5

Yes it's very tough in the beginning and hitting stalls really hits hard. But as you add new notches to your belt to keep from losing your pants, the pain in your chest you realize is no longer there, you no longer snore and sleep in one spot all night. Or playing with my wife and kids and not hurting. That's the real inspiration. My family was very supportive. A good support group is a must. For all my trucker buddies if you'd like I can give tips on what I ate from the watering holes we mainly have for options.9

I can't tell you how many times I've stood behind someone in line at Subway watching them order a sandwich with no veggies, extra cheese and double sauce.1

My downfall to subway is the raspberry cheesecake cookies. Its a struggle walking away empty handed0

any loose skin problems2

Harts1416 there is the loose skin. The only issue I have is getting pulled aside at the tsa in the airport and see the caution areas on the monitor. They have to pat me down. I think I have issues with it but my wife informs me it's not bad like I think it is. Also since I lost it somewhat slowly there really isn't much, however I call it my trophy7
