I bought each kid one for $4. They lost them inside of a couple days. When they whined for new ones I pointed to the gigantic swi g set and said "there ya go".

It's a fad that should be over by next week

I had a go with one yesterday. I don't get it either , just spins round
I understand it's use for children with ADHD etc but for anything else I just don't understand it

At the school where I work, spinners are banned for ALL kids but those prescribed a diversion are allowed fidget cubes, tangle toys or bits of blu-tack. When I was young "clackers" were the big thing, banned because they were apt to shatter and send pieces flying. Every generation has something!

When I was young the toy that got banned that we missed the most was lawn darts.

Kinda magical when a bunch of them fall from the tree. They always take me back to my childhood.

I guess I never grew up. I still keep a couple of extra bricks of fire crackers & an assortment of other fireworks stored in my garage. You just never know when a spontaneous bottle rocket war might happen. It's a great way to alleviate stress or boredom. LOL

I've never seen one of these either, so I don't really have an opinion of them. This is what my grandson is into now and loves it. He's almost as fast as this! :-)

When I taught sped I loved them because some of my students truly benefited from them. Now it's just some bs fad that everyone is jumping on, making it difficult for those who honestly need them.

I type quickly, so my fidget spinner is actually the internet...for better or worse.

I used to have three of these great tai chi metal balls my dad brought back from China which I would spin around, but then I got into juggling them and then I kind of forgot about them (we had to learn how to juggle in middle school...how weird is that, lol...). I have no idea where there are now.

There's like a whole tai chi thing about this...

Maybe they were Kung Fu metal balls. I'm not really sure.

But they were definitely from China.

My young sons seem to think so, but that will change when they discover girls.

Last week my 12 yo grandson told me how he bought some online when they first came out and sold them at school for high profit. LoL
He is quite a character (just like Gramps).
