No Sugar Coke (the Coke Zero replacement...)

There is thid one diet cream soda i adore its got no aspertine (however you spell it) in it which i love1

Wait so what is the "no sugar coke" called? I only know diet and zero.
Oh yeah and diet dr. pepper. Doesn't even taste diet. The only reason I don't always choose it is because I think it may have less or no caffeine and I'm a struggling person who needs to be caffeinated every 3 hours.
The new one is literally called "coke no sugar". They're phasing out coke zero apparently...1 -

Here's the press release from Coca-Cola:
http://www.coca-colacompany.com/press-center/company-statements/coke-zero-and-coca-cola-zero-sugar
Apparently in some markets it's called Coke No Sugar and in others it's called Coke Zero Sugar (neither of which is the same as Coke Zero as we've known it).
I drink Diet Coke almost daily. I tried Coke Zero once years ago and thought it didn't taste anything close to regular Coke as purported and preferred the taste of Diet Coke over Coke Zero. I still occasionally indulge in a mini can of regular Coke, so I'll be curious to try the new Coke Zero Sugar/Coke No Sugar.
I wonder if Coke Zero wasn't performing well, hence the formula change AND rebranding?
I also never got to try Coca-Cola Life (the Coke in the green can). I never saw it in any store where I live. It's being discontinued as well.
I'm going to be on the lookout for Coke No Sugar!0 -
I think i posted about this several months ago (around December). in my area it looks like this:
As an avid coke zero / pepsi max fan I can attest to the fact that it tastes.... exactly like coke zero always has. They rebranded because of confusion stemming from the coke zero name... suprisingly enough they did research and found that nearly half of british consumers did not know that coke zero had... zero sugar.
"After the company’s research found half of British consumers did not know the brand contained no sugar, it will be relaunched as “Coca-Cola Zero Sugar” in June, in Coca-Cola Great Britain’s biggest product launch for a decade."
https://www.theguardian.com/business/2016/apr/19/coca-cola-zero-renamed-uk-taste-more-like-coke-sugar
From their own website:
Why have you named it Coca-Cola No Sugar? We chose the name to be as clear as possible about the fact that the new Coke No Sugar is exactly that – a Coca-Cola with no sugar.
https://www.coca-cola.com.au/en/new-coke-no-sugar-faqs/
so to recap: it tastes 100% like coke zero or most other "zero/max" non-sugar soda varieties.0 -
They rebrand coke zero to coke zero sugar (apparently people didn't realize coke zero didn't have sugar) in Canada a few months ago and that one tastes exactly the same as coke zero0
-
Isn't this just a rebranding strategy? Because of all the BS media on artificial sweeteners and the uproar of sugar being the devil, wouldn't a rebranding and saying "no sugar" on a label entice the product to be more desireable?
BTW, Diet Cherry Pepsi FTW.

I love Dr. Brown's diet cream soda, but can never find it. There's a Zevia one (maybe the one meant, as they all have stevia as the sweetener), but I don't like it nearly as much.
bbell, is the diet chocolate fudge one Canfield's? That was really popular a million years ago when I was in high school and I loved it then and am scared but curious to try it again.0 -

I'm not sure. There was a big bear on it.0 -

Polar makes one, the company that makes the seltzer water. It is really good, one of the best diet cream sodas, I never checked to see what sweetener is uses.0 -
I usually get Zevia root beer or Zevua cream soda when I crave comes.. they taste Amazing..0

I'm Diet Coke all the way. I only go for Coke Zero when I'm trying to cut back a bit on caffeine and the caffeine free Diet Coke isn't available. Coke Zero has just slightly less caffeine. My work only has Pepsi products so I've grown to accept Diet Cherry Pepsi.0

On Wednesday, Coca-Cola announced that it would stop selling Coke Zero in the US in August, replacing it with a beverage with a different recipe, design, and name: Coke Zero Sugar.
"It is a reinvention of Coke Zero," CEO James Quincey said in a call with investors.
According to Coca-Cola, Coke Zero Sugar is closer to the taste of Coca-Cola Original. However, with zero sugar and zero calories, the drink also appeals to customers who are seeking lower-sugar options.
Coke Zero is already a major hit outside of America, with growth figures reaching the teens. In the US, Coke Zero sales grew 3.5% in 2016, compared to Diet Coke's drop of 1.9% in the same time period.
WTF WTF WTF. Very unhappy about this. Thought it was going to have same recipe but just new name. Nope.0 -

i think i said this somewhere else on the thread... it tastes identical to coke zero. i've been drinking it for over a year and didn't even notice when they transitioned it in my area.1 -
They introduced this a while ago in Canada and yes it's the same taste0

That's odd; the articles I've seen are saying it has the same ingredients: https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/wonk/wp/2017/07/26/coca-cola-zero-sugar-cokes-hot-new-soda-isnt-actually-that-new-at-all/?utm_term=.0d1b28cd154b0 -
Coca-Cola Classic or GTFO0

I gave up soda last week. I was a Coke Zero fan. After reading about soda in general, I realized that the stuff they use to sweeten it (artificial) is almost worse than sugar, so I quit soda, sugar, and 90% of bread. Tummy bloat is gone. I feel better and drum roll... I sleep better. I sure miss my evening glass full of ice and Coke Zero! I hope I never return to it. I am recovering from open heart coronary bypass surgery. I need to clean up my act.12

But, have you guys tried CHERRY VANILLA Coke Zero?! It's my go-to at the Coke mix machines. It's the best of both worlds, if that world isn't going to include Diet Dr. Pepper.
Many years ago, I found Diet Cherry Vanilla Dr. Pepper in a little desert shop in California and my world was changed, lol.3 -
Diet Dr pepper or diet gingerale mmmmmm0

Cherry Coke Zero is my favorite. Zevia Ginger Ale is really good, too!0

As long as it tastes the same I don't care what they call it.1

I think it tastes different to coke zero. I'm a diet coke drinker, but tolerate zero if I have no choice (beats Pepsi).... No sugar coke tasted wrong, and I'd not choose to drink it again.0 -

Oh man I tried cherry vanilla Coke Zero in Vegas and it was amazing. I wish we had cherry Coke Zero and vanilla Coke Zero in Canada.
