fruit is the best
Your health will definitely suffer if it is limited.
Aren't there a bunch of essential amino acids that the human body needs that can't be found in fruit and can't be synthesized in the body?
Also, I rarely (if ever) eat fruit on purpose, and my weight is healthy and my health markers get me compliments from doctors. Perhaps that's anecdotal, but so is "Your health will definitely suffer if it is limited."8 -

How would you get the protein and fat you need from just fruit?
I'm a huge fruit eater but it does not contain every thing my body needs.10 -
if eating all the fruit is gonna make me sick i don't think i want to be healthy.0

Fruit contains sugar and sugar is toxic, by that equation we would have not survived as a species for so long, nor would many others....yayz for the planet.
Anybody considering a diet should read up on the basics of the macros and their function.
You don't need to go in too much detail to debunk this kind of nonsense yourself. This is of course if there is no medical reason for restricting fruit or sugars.
Good thing about the internet, everybody has a voice. Bad thing about the internet, everybody's got a voice.
So yayz for fruit, so yummie6 -
fruit is very beneficial, just balance it within your diet properly as it's high in cals/carbs/fructose. there's such a variety of fruits available, and ive yet to find one i didn't like... i eat mixed berries and bananas most often thou.0

Not all fruit is high-calorie. And the fiber gives you a lot of satiety bang for your buck. The only fruit I find I need to moderate carefully (assuming I haven't done something obvious like toss it with sugar and cinnamon and spread it in a pie crust) is avocado. And even that's one of the healthy fats.1

I hear so many mixed reviews about fruits . What do you guys think ? I hear it's loaded with sugar and it's not good for you to eat everyday . Hmm
If it fits in your calories for the day then go for it!
Now if you have a medical condition that could limit the fruit you eat or the kinds then I would consult a doctor or nutritionist.0 -
fruit is fine! Barring if you are diabetic, eat as much as you can fit into your calorie count. Lots of vitamins in fruit, esp in the skin so I wouldn't peel that apple or pear, but snack away!3
-
Anyone who thinks that the so called "negatives" of the natural sugar in fruit outweigh the benefits of all the natural and healthy nutrients is out of their mind! This perception drives me insane!3
-
Unhealthy to eat fruit? Seriously? What nonsense!4
-
I Personally think that natural sugar is different than processed sugar, and your body responds to fruit differently.13

Yeah, a food loaded with micronutrients is unhealthy.
I don't eat it because I get my nutrients and carbs elsewhere. But of course it's "healthy"
And for that matter, most foods are healthy within the context of a balanced diet.8 -

Sure, if it's over your caloric needs? Fruit itself isn't going to be what does ya in.1 -

I'm wary of eating too much fruit. I have a daughter who's extremely sensitive to the sugars in certain fruits. If she eats grapes, for example, for a couple of days in a row, her behaviour completely changes. She's ten times worse with dried fruit like raisins.0

But my point is that it definitely *can* be. If you are consistently over your caloric limit due to the amount of fruit you eat, it most certainly could be "what does you in."
If anyone had a mind to (and hopefully they don't) they could definitely get fat on a diet that excluded everything except fruit.4 -

I disagree. I get a painful physical reaction to high carb intake (my whole body feels like it's bruised).
One day, I went apple picking. I ate nothing that day but apples. I got the same pain the next day as eating sweets, bread, tortilla chips, heavy carby sauces, etc.6 -

I'm also a kidney stone former. Not all fruit is high in oxalates, though. Most of the time I try to eat those fruits, but every once in a while I like my berries as a treat.3 -

I get that! You're the first person I've found who says the same and now I feel less crazy. After a huge sugary carby day, I wak up feeling like I've been beaten - bra straps hurt, loose clothing is a must. Thank you for making me less crazy!
(although, call me crazy (again) but have we connected over this before? I feel like we may have had this discussion)0 -

What?!?!? You haven't seen me post about this before? I wish I would have known. I feel so lonely. I don't remember us connecting over this!
Yes. It's so bad it hurts to pull up my pants over my legs and put a bra on.
I want to tell you some of the things I've found out about it. Let's chat on private messages sometime.0 -

Well processed sugar is metabolized more quickly, than sugar from fruit, which causes insulin spikes.
Because fruit has fiber, and most fruit expand in the gut, the metabolization is slower, and people feel more full on less sugar--from fruit.
I guess I wasn't very clear in my first post. Sugar is sugar, but the delivery mechanism is different, and produce different results.6 -

This is so true from an evolutionationary-biology perspective. Kudos7 -
Like anything else, if one eats it to excess and it exceeds your calorie intake or so much that it causes gastrointestinal issues, then yes it could be undesirable.
But the whole "sugar" issue is propaganda from people who blame sugar as the cause for weight gain. Go anywhere else in the world where obesity and being overweight isn't an issue and I'm betting that fruit is a normal part of their dietary intake.
