I haven't been intentionally going overboard on exercise and eating. I was shocked (pleasantly) as all to see the number when I stepped on the scale. My goal is still to lose 1 pound per week going forward...x 50 times!! Let's keep pressing forward everyone10 -

My scales are playing up (I've changed the batteries but I think it's pretty terminal) and I can't get a reliable reading. we'll find out properly later in the month when I finally give in a buy new ones
I've had a decent week though, lots of walking/biking and good food choices.12 -
Starting late but will weigh in Fridays. Lost 20# earlier in year to get to my goal weight, and I want to get back to it. Need to get back to healthier eating habits, increase in exercise and more water intake. This sounds like a good place to be for accountability.

Got in lots of walking (carrying a sleeping toddler)and jumping on trampoline. Not counting calories but eating healthier today, my morning smoothie included strawberries, mango, blueberries, spinach, iced green tea and lemon. Oatmeal included cranberries, raisons and diced apple. Grilled chicken sandwich had onions, tomato, spinach,banana peppers, pickles. Drinking only water. Might not lose weight eating like this but I'll be healthier8 -

Back again - am supposedly in maintenance but because of poor food choices have been in a cycle for the last 2 months, of gain weight for 3 weeks then lose for 1. The numbers are starting to creep back.
Mentally I feel like I am back at the beginning, struggling to get the right mind set to lose weight. Find myself thinking "I really need to stop eating so much crap" as I shove some more food in my mouth.
I dont mind fluctuating within a 3kg range but would like that range to be within 50 -53kg not above this.
At least I havent given up.

I'm still stuck. The average is exactly the same as last week. The numbers bounce around from day to day.
At least I didn't gain. It is frustrating, but I have learned to be more stubborn than the stall, and it will blink eventually.
Original starting weight: 243 in 2015.
MFP Starting weight December 25th, 2016: 233
Average from July 24th - July 30th: 214.4
Average from July 31st - August 6th: 214.5
Average from August 7 - August 13th: 214.5
August loss: Gain of 0.1 lbs.
Total MFP loss: 18.5lbs.
Total cumulative loss: 28.5 lbs.

Don't give up. Look at what you have accomplished so far. That is more powerful than one disappointing weigh in.
I get stuck every couple of months or so. It is frustrating, but I know if I just keep on, the scale will reflect it, *eventually.*
Giving up moves us backwards. None of us is here because we want to go backwards.
I am sure we all can relate to discouragement and frustration, I know I can.
Be gentle to yourself, but keep moving forward.
Losing the weight isn't always linear.
I find what works for me is weighing daily and averaging weekly. It actually gives a clearer pictures of overall trends.
If one weighs once a week, and on that day we are retaining water because of a salty meal the day before, we might think we gained 2 lbs., when over the week, we really lost 1.
That method may not be for everyone, but I do it and recommend it. For me, psychologically, it keeps me motivated and accountable, AND it helps me identify foods that cause an uptick.
Knowledge is power. I don't freak out as much about a daily gain if the week shows a loss ... or no gain/loss. This is really helpful during plateaus and helps me stay on track instead of just throwing up my hands and quitting.
