It seems more people are paying others to mow their yards, do their edging, etc.

What do you do?

It's always much better if someone else does it for you.

I hire - my yard is 4 acres of which about 2.5 needs mowing - $75

    Trimming - ha - that's a city slicker thing. Round-Up baby! 2 or 3 times per year.

I brush hog my farm though - about 50 hours of tractor time so far this year. We brush hog about every 3 or 4 weeks. $31k for the tractor plus diesel :-)

I make my 12 year old mow our almost 2 acres of lawn with the zero turn. He's still young enough that he thinks it's fun. Like Mario Kart. :D

So your acreage is littered with banana peels?

Exactly why I make my kid do it. I always say my favorite outdoor activity is going back inside.

I don't know. I do my own and it's pretty good.

My HOA does my front yard, but I'm responsible for shrubs, bushes, etc. I do my own backyard.

For some reason, they keep taking one look at my concrete yard and refuse to mow it!
    The spoilsports!

I don't think I could cope with having a real garden to take care of, I can barely manage fixing my hair in a morning with all the work I have to do - let alone a garden! Lol

Well, of course when I do it myself it's always great but it's still always better if you can get someone to do it for you.

    Hire it out

So you just call someone in JPMorgan's Private Client group and say "hey, send someone over to tend to my mowing and edging."?

If I had a riding mower I probably wouldn't mind doing it but when you have to push a mower up on an incline in 95 degree hot humid weather it's not fun at all. I wonder how many calories I burn though, hmm?

Another reason I miss living in the city.

My husband mostly does the mowing on the riding lawn mower because I hate that thing! I do the weed eating. We clear about 6 acres, though some of that is garden.

You do have to do a background check and health screening first, that makes it less scary. While you're at it you may want to check their credit score.

I kind of feel like you should be my personal life advisor

I am open to that but I feel I should put a disclaimer in there somewhere.

I do it myself and love it!! I think it's nice to be out there working on the yard plus I'm a real cheapskate.

I live on an acre but only have a small walled in courtyard in the backyard with grass...I live in New Mexico, so most people don't have huge plots of grass as it is incredibly expensive to water...I mow myself and it takes me about 10 minutes.

I try to keep up with the rest of the land as well, but sometimes the weeds and whatnot just get away from me and I have to hire some help with cleanup...

I pay someone to come - he does every 2-3 weeks (depending on how the grass looks) - including additional weed spraying etc - it costs me $60 and I consider that money well spent

The weeds are the worst part to deal with.

I was paying someone $35 every two weeks to mow mine. Could not do it myself with my back pain then. I could only make one or two laps with the mower before I felt like puking from the pain & that's while taking a narc to knock the edge off the pain. Dropped a bunch of weight doing keto & back pain got to the point where it was bearable even without pain meds. I no longer feel like puking when I stand up for more than 5 minutes. So I let the guy go & now I mow it myself to save the $70 a month to spend on car parts or whatever.
Feels good to be able to mow my own yard again. Is it worth it to pay someone? Yeah, if you're busy with life it's not a bad thing.

So you attribute your improvement to Keto?
