I watched this video this morning on running safety, it was long but interesting. I love the idea of the hunting ear piece.

I see that BAA announced registration has closed and won't re-open. So @lporter229 will have to wait to see how big the cut off is. The qualifying window for 2019 started on September 16, but I haven't seen an announcement on what the 2019 qualifying standards are. Perhaps BAA is waiting to see how big the cut off is before deciding whether to keep the same qualifying targets.

It's funny, the difference between this year and last. Last year I would have been freaking out if I was in this position. Heck, I was on pins and needles awaiting my acceptance as it was and I had a very solid cushion. This year, I really doesn't matter to me. Perhaps it's because I have already run Boston once or maybe it's because qualifying at Boston last year was never even a goal in my mind, as I was just hoping to finish without too much pain. At any rate, I would be a bit disappointed as I would love to meet @Ohhim and @Mobycarp (since I missed you last year), but whatever happens happens.

Congrats @MobyCarp on being able to run again and congrats to @Ohhim on your solid IM performances. I can't believe you missed Kona by one place! But as @MNLittleFinn said, that still makes you awesome! Also, big congrats to @seanevan10 on completing C25K!

Beautiful pictures of Skip @skippygirlsmom !

@skippygirlsmom That was a great video to watch. I need a stick like that! I mean, not that I have ever come across this situation, but I have seen quite a few guys running out as early as I do. You never know.

@PastorVincent I love your relive video, mine would be so boring ha ha

Thanks! I hope to redo it today with more/ better pictures. Trying to figure out how far apart the pictures need to for relive to separate them instead of stack them.

    45.1/65 miles

I'm taking a couple of vacation days, so I scrapped my run yesterday and decided to run this morning and tomorrow morning. Today's run was another suckfest. It was ~85°F but humid and uncomfortable. I had to remind myself that it was better than yesterday's 100°F feels like 104°F. It did make me feel better to see so many runners on here and Strava saying how bad their runs were this morning. I usually love summer, but I am so tired of this heat.

@seanevan10 Congrats on finishing C25k. I also started running using C25k and then moved on to C210k.

@jessicamcb In my area of Texas we do the same as @skippygirlsmom on the senior pictures. Skips pictures were awesome. With both of my kids we had a friend do the senior pictures. They were just as good as everyone else's.

@JessicaMcB ha ha on Lifetouch OMG they are everywhere! So here is the deal here (in the South) you get your “formal” done – you know girls in black drape and pearls (which Skip refused to wear – she wore a necklace my mom gave her), THEN the same nut photographer takes “school” pictures – the standard ugly marble back ground. Both go in the yearbook for seniors, no idea why. Then people hire photographers to take these casual shots. They start at like $350 for the sitting fee. If you want to go the park, more money, if you want to change clothes, more money, want your car in the shot, more money. I’m like are you kidding me? There is a farm by us she wants me to stop and ask if we can take fall pictures there. Up the street a bit people have Clydesdales horses she wants to stop and ask if we can take a few with their horses. I said I’ll go anywhere you want.

This is her “official” graduation picture that will be in the yearbook - oh yeah $40 just to take the picture.

    xg9ae0okzqql.jpg

Sorry to go so far off running stuff! ha ha

I have a retainer fee (price depends on if you want 1, 4 or 8 hours). It covers the planning, session, reveal/design session and admin expenses. Then I sell products. The only "extra" fees would be if you wanted to go somewhere that needed a permit or entry fee or if you lose your files and I have to dig through my external hard drives to find your session.

Although my style is more documentary than posed. For me, I want to capture real moments that people can have for a lifetime. I am a sucker for making memories.

If you are interested in photography, feel free to ask me anything! I learned on film and now do digital. (And film for fun - I may offer this as a premium someday)

@RunsOnEspresso - I still have a 35mm film camera that I use to take pictures. I think a lot of pictures today are staged because everyone is trying to get the perfect picture and the delete the digital pictures that aren't so perfect.

Anyone have experience with the Garmin LTHR guided test? Looking for info on if it's worth running one. As much as I hate to admit it, I think my 174 from my friel test might be too high.

I FINISHED!!! I finished the couch to 5k program. I have started it a few times but never finished. Until now! SO excited that I can run for 30 minutes. I am going to go for a full 3.1 miles on Sunday just to test, but I think I have it now. Whoop. I owe part of it to you because this has been a great group of people with TONS of motivation and great advice. Thank you!

    Total 22.61/30 goal

If it makes you feel better, it took me 9 years to finish C25K. Now I'm hooked and planning on running the Dark Side Half in Disney in April.

It was 90 today after work, but it didn't feel as miserable as Tuesday, but I only ran 2.8 miles. I just couldn't get up this morning before work. I really enjoy sleeping.

Also today is pecan cookie day or something, so everyone at work was trying to push cookies on me.

I don't know where I'm at, so I'll figure it out when I'm not in my phone.

Some comments on my morning run. Third day this week with no heart rate monitor and I beginning to think, its usefulness may have run its course. Did I really need the monitor? I think its was good to discover the information and collect the data but I'm not sure it was. I think I know my paces at this point and choosing to work a little harder here and there and a little less from time to time makes sense. I think it over complicates a simple process. I have a plan in mind for after my marathon next month. It will consist of running only 3days a week and crosstraining three. I will run some 5ks and 10ks as a progress measure. One day a week (Saturday) will be a 10 mile plus run and. One day will be hill repeats or intervals.

@KatieJane83 pumpkin spice and pumpkin can be two very different flavors, pumpkin pie is very pumpkin.I love them both.

@seanevan10 Awesome job on completing C25K, congrats!!!

@skippygirlsmom Yeah, I don't think I could eat a pumpkin spice hot dog...my initial reaction to that video was something similar to this:
