I see that BAA announced registration has closed and won't re-open. So @lporter229 will have to wait to see how big the cut off is. The qualifying window for 2019 started on September 16, but I haven't seen an announcement on what the 2019 qualifying standards are. Perhaps BAA is waiting to see how big the cut off is before deciding whether to keep the same qualifying targets.

I love ice cold eggnog. It never occurred to me to drink it hot... I only drink a few sips on Christmas Eve because it is so fattening. My husband drinks as many quarts as I will buy - he loves it! He lucky he can spare the calories.

... and @Elise4270 I like pie too... and donuts... and probably most things that aren't good for me, but I have learned to eat in moderation... or run more so I can splurge more...
This is part of why I have to run!

@navygrrl My wife will eat all the pumpkin... but not a big fan here. It is okay is some things, I guess.

Confession: I am not pro donuts, pie, hot dogs or egg nog (especially not egg nog). I did get super fat off of pumpkin spice oreos and sushi though haha ;) !

Very hard run. Did not have good legs today. The fact that I only got about 4 hits of sleep last night and the high humidity made this run a suckfest. Fall officially is here, but it sure did not feel like it.

On a positive note it looks like I will get my goal miles this month. Hope everyone is doing well.

Summer Goal: Get my marathon pace below 9 minutes.
    Official Marathon PR: 4:11:28

Next Races (more as I find them):

10/14/2017 - Stop, Drop, and Run - Fireman style obstacle course - 5km

10/14/2017 - HAWAIIANS LOVE S.P.A.M. (Skin Protection Against Melanoma)
    -- SPONSOR ME: https://walk.aimatmelanoma.org/Hilo2017/PastorVincent

05/06/18 - Pittsburgh Marathon - aiming for sub four hours.

Today's run was much shorter, mainly cause I went exploring and found what might be a trail that could get me nearly 2 miles of offroad running with some really mean hills. Tooks some pictures, but will run it again and take more pictures next time (and run the full trail). Till then look:

Only 90ish tonight. I hope to get some longer runs in once it cools down. And I am the idiot that signed up for a race thinking it was a Saturday only to realize it was Sunday and I am leaving town early Sunday. DOH! I need to learn how to read a calendar apparently. LOL

    Notes:
Yesterday I was planning to do eight miles with some mile repeats at the track, but once I warmed up and got to the track I just was not feeling it at all. Ended up running the rest of the way to the lake, and doing an easy 5.19 miles (my math was a bit off lol) instead, average pace of 9:17. It was good that I cut the run short because my shin started bothering me towards the end of the run. Not bad enough to alter my gait at all, but enough to be noticeable, so I iced it once I got home and stretched/rolled the *kitten* out of my calves. Figured I would see how it felt today before deciding if I wanted to run or not. It felt much much better, so I went out this afternoon for a six mile run. Was hoping to get eight miles to make up for yesterday, but it was SO hot out that even six was a struggle! Super sunny and only a slight breeze, with a "real feel" of 96*F. I ended up stopping at every single water fountain (even in the section of the path that has 3 fountains in a 0.6 mile stretch!). The heat got so bad that for the last three miles, I sped up through every sunny section and slowed wayyy down every time I was in the shade just to savor it a bit more. Average pace ended up being 9:27, though I honestly should have run slower than that. The worst part is that it's supposed to be just as hot tomorrow (though hopefully less sunny) so I'll have to suffer again  I guess Chicago isn't quite ready to let go of summer yet!

Sorry I fell behind a bunch in this thread. I'm trying to catch up but I'll be backpacking all this weekend so I kind of think there's no hope for me to catch back up this month -_- Keep up the great work though everyone!
As far as the donuts, egg nog, pumpkin spice, and pie discussion goes.... I would have to say: only if it is glazed, definitely yuck regardless of the temperature, pumpkin spice only belongs in pumkin pie, and pecan pie is the best (but only if it is made by someone who emphasizes the "KAHN" part and not the "PEE" )

@MobyCarp congratulations on getting in to Boston, and on being able to run today!
@RespectTheKitty saw you were asking about trails near Chicago, didn't know you were also in the Chicagoland area! Sadly I am wondering the same thing haha. When I ran XC as an undergrad, we would drive out to Swallow Cliff in Palos Park on the weekends. It has ~8 miles of unpaved trail and some decent elevation changes (at least for a Chicagoan!), so that might be worth looking into? Only one I know of though. I am unfortunately part of the "no car" population so making it out there isn't an option for me anymore :disappointed:
