9/20 155
9/21 156 UGH! Pizza for dinner at community bingo last night. I only ate the toppings off one slice of veggie and had taken a healthy salad from home. One SF adult beverage but overall maybe not enough fat or perhaps this is the salt.
9/22 156. I ate dinner too late! Almost 9 PM!! This afternoon I go to my retreat and will be without a scale until I get home late Sunday. I will have a lot of catching up to do! Next weigh in on Monday! AARRGGGHHH
9/23 RETREAT
9/24 RETREAT Going home this afternoon. This has been a fun, productive weekend. We'll see what the scale reveals tomorrow, I have had some junk but nothing like last year.
9/25 157.5 Up but not surprised. Had a great time at our mini-retreat. Over the weekend, the only things o should not have eaten were a half piece of Trash Treat and 3 hands full of popcorn. And unmeasured alcohol. Learned to make homemade noodles and Buckeyes. Had 3 dozen Buckeyes to bring home which my husband will take care of. I was not even tempted. My biggest problem was not drinking enough water. I think I will not have a problem recouping. I'm so glad to have spent time with these wonderful women but am equally glad to be back to this group.
9/26 157.5 Getting back to my eating plan. I probably had too much fat yesterday.
9/27 156.5
9/28 156 Ate at buffet last night with friends. They had great rib roast and I may have had more than I should but it was an infrequent indulgence. Now if I could just get my lazy rear out of my chair! I really need SOME exercise!!
9/29 157.5. WHAT was I doing waking up before 4??? I had a headache and couldn't go back to sleep. Going to be a long day!
It seems several of us had gains this round. Well, onward and downward next round! WE CAN DO THIS!!7 -

I came down with a nasty sinus infection night before last. I always lose weight when I am sick (see R15 average weight above). I have been drinking a ton of water and expelled at least a pound of snot. Plus, no appetite, but I'm trying anyway. Hopefully something good will come of this and I won't gain all the weight back. But it's always doubtful with such an extreme loss, which is why I'm trying not to lose so much. -_-
9/21: 128.2
Yep.
9/23: 129.4
Ok, time to get back on track here. I have literally been doing nothing but laying down. Went to the doctor and now I have a respiratory infection as well. I can't exercise and I feel like poop.
9/24: 129.4
Staying steady is a good sign!
9/25: 128.6
Did great yesterday, stayed under calorie goal and even ate a few treats brought back home from Ukraine by some family.
9/26: 128.6
Yay! I know my average weight won't be as low as Round 15 but if I can keep it below Round 16 that would be awesome! Ate under calorie limit and now that I am feeling a good bit better I went for a SHORT run last night.
9/27: 128.6
Going to a soccer game tonight! I always give myself freedom to eat whatever I want on these nights because we get into downtown about 4 hours early to park, walk a couple of miles to dinner, then walk a couple of miles to the stadium, then walk a couple of miles to the car. That plus the fact that I don't drink makes it a lot easier to eat slightly less mindfully on those nights! Yum.
9/28: 128.6
I'm starting to sense a trend here. Yesterday at the soccer game I ate a vegan hotdog (yum!) and a gourmet donut, and only went over calorie count by about 200. I'm good with that, although today I feel like I have a ball of food left in my stomach.
9/29: 127.4
Yay! Ending on a high (low) note! Finished under cal count yesterday so I guess that's why...

9/20 - 222.0 - Back down to my lowest! Let's see if I can hold it. I went to the gym for 30min cardio today and did minimal effort. I wasn't feeling 100% so am glad I at least went. Tomorrow will be better and I will push harder!
9/21 - 221.4!! Woohoo! I didnt make it to the gym today as I was doing errands with my husband on his day off then had to watch the baby while he did house stuff. I don't feel guilty about it so it's ok. I am waiting to hear if i have arrangements for a babysitter tomorrow so i can go to the gym. Otherwise I will be playing baseball tomorrow night so I will burn some calories then! I ate under calories as I skipped breakfast due to catching up on sleep and sleeping until noon. Overall a good day!
9/22 220.0!!! Still going down! I have not found anyone to watch my son while I go to the gym so we are going to go for a nice long walk today. I didn't sleep so well last night so hoping to have a little nap first (when baby naps) and then head out. Looking forward to baseball tonight! And hoping the scale is in the 1s!!!!
9/23 220.2 - leveling out but im.happy to be maintaining. Played 2 baseball games and maybe a 3rd tonight in 30 degree weather! Tying to stay hydrated. Looking forward to what the scale has to say about this tomorrow! Food good today.
9/24 - 220.0 - holding strong. Waiting in anticipation for the 1s! Next week I'm going to push myself with exercise as I have been slacking the last few weeks and see what I can get down to on the scale!
9/25 - 219.8 - woohoo. New low!
9/26 - 221.0 - yesterday I binged on 90 calorie sugar treats. I had 5! The whole box. I can't buy those again! And today I had I peanut butter cookie, sour cream donut and a bagel with cheese and butter! I did balance it with a Cobb salad for lunch but went over my calories and sugar! I'm going to get back on track. I've arranged to go for a walk tomorrow with another mom and have volleyball tomorrow! I'm committing to the following 3 goals each day: 1 ) 30min exercise (increased heart rate) daily, 2) no unplanned treats, 3) 5 24oz bottles of water daily! No more self sabotaging !
9/27 - 220.8 - going back down! I'm really hoping to finish the 10 days in the 10s! Today I'm going for a walk around our mall as it is raining. And playing volleyball tonight.
9/28 - 218.6!!! Woohoo. Feeling amazing. I surprised myself and went to the gym yesterday out of the blue! Clearly it is what I needed. I felt like I had so much energy! My lowest yet. No exercise planned for the day yet but if I get time for a walk I'll take it. Definitely gym tomorrow. I'm hoping to finish off strong.
9/29 - 217.6 - finished off so so strong.
Total loss: 5.4lbs! Wow!!!! I know its a big drop quick and my next weigh ins will have to be maintance but ill take it! Looking forward to the next round where i hope to be more active!6 -
Round 17: my goal for this round is to be in the 150s.
9/20: 162.8 I feel discouraged seeing this number but I will keep on pushing.
9/21: 162.6. No much different
9/22: 161.1. Slow but good.
9/23: 160.5. Well I will be a happy girl if I continue losing o.something lbs everyday. My long term goal is to up my water intake.
9/24: 161. Hmmm hanging in there
9/25: 163.4. Well this is one of those time I see the scale go up and I can't even complain cos I know what caused it. Way too much carbs( rice) over the weekend and less water. Let's see if I can drop this 3 pounds in the next 4 days.
9/26: 159.8 what just happen?!!!!!. Nope not gonna get too excited just water weight I'm sure.
9/27: 158.7. Yayyy Already hit my goal for this round. Super excited, although I'm still struggling with drinking enough water.
9/28: 158.7 well I will take that.
9/29:157.5. I'm so loving this.5 -

9/26 - 179.2 We had a birthday celebration Saturday and big brunch on Sunday. I went for a 5 mile hike to earn calories for Saturday and still came in at a deficit. Sunday I didn't track. I drank a lot of champagne. My mother was there. Lol
9/27 - 179 Calories have been on track the last 2 days but I'm not drinking enough water. I've pre logged my food for today.
9/28 - 180 This number is so discouraging for me, but my day got totally derailed when I realized I was expected at a community food/wine event last night. I've logged it, and my calories weren't too bad (still at a slight deficit over what I burned, and I moved very little yesterday) but the sodium... oy. So I'm hoping it will drop. I've got a slight cold, too, which is weird. I never get sick. I don't feel too bad, I think it's a sign to take better care of myself. Is it possible to plateau before making progress?
9/29 - 178. Yay!! A drop! I think I like this challenge. I imagine there are many learning opportunities about ourselves on it. Thanks for inviting me!4 -
I can't remember what board I found this challenge on! Was it the motivation one? I definitely want to participate in round 18! I'm on my phone, and for some reason I can see the challenge but not which board. Sorry if I sound like an idiot. Lol.0

SW: 269.4 (9/12/17)
Highest: 278.8
CW: 264.8
R17GW: 260.0
Goal: Log all my food each day. I tend to get lazy in the evenings and on the weekends.
9/20 - 264.2 - down .6 from yesterday despite the fact that I ate terribly last night and didn't exercise. I was stressed about my child's school work/preparing for picture day (today) and an interview that I have today at work (still pretty stressed about that!). Staying positive though, going to make better choices today
9/21 - 262.2 - I was emotionally and mentally exhausted after my interview yesterday, so I didn't eat well at night. But, I did make myself take a 15 minute walk last night. Unfortunately, I've got some foot pain that I'm pretty sure is caused by a bone spur on the top of my foot (so I'll be calling a podiatrist this week), so 15 minutes was all that I could handle. But I'm happy with the results
9/22 - 263.4 - Yesterday afternoon/evening was stressful. We had an event at my child's school that included dinner. Then when I got home, I just ate a bunch of junk food. I am working on controlling my emotional eating, but it's a process. I did just request an appointment with a podiatrist to try to resolve my foot pain. I can't walk for more than 15-20 minutes without pain and I need to get back to exercising. I knew my weight would be up today, but I'm not too discouraged. Today's a new day!
9/23 - 261.4 - Great way to start the weekend! Tried to walk a little more yesterday. The shoes I wore helped my foot, I think. And I have an appointment scheduled for 2 weeks out wirh the podiatrist. Can't wait to fix my foot!!
9/24 - 259.2 - Pretty happy with those results. Tomorrow will be a gain, Sundays are our family pizza nights. Definitely feel like I'm making progress!
9/25 - 263.6 - I knew it would be a gain, but that's more than I expected. But, when I went back and looked at the quantity of food (and calories) and the inactivity for the day, it makes perfect sense. Going out to dinner tonight and I've pre-logged my food. As long as I stay on task the rest of the day and get a walk or two in, I think I will be good
9/26 - 263.0 - It's a loss, I should be happy. But I feel a little discouraged. I did pretty well during the day yesterday (knowing that I was going out to dinner) and I walked more yesterday than I usually do when I work from home. I even ate less calories than I have in a long time (dinner included)! So it's kind of disappointing to see a small loss when I've eaten more calories and lost more. But I think there were several factors in play: I ate most of my calories at dinner after which I did not exercise, most of the calories were carbs, and I didn't get very much sleep last night. As disappointed as I feel, I do feel like yesterday has helped to put my mind back to the right mindset. I worked from home and DIDN'T overeat all day - I DO have some willpower! I should be happy that I lost anything, considering all the carbs I had at dinner. Either way, today's going to be a good day. I've got some willpower and determination to succeed, so I'm expecting tomorrow's weigh in will bring great results
9/27 - 260.6 - I knew yesterday would be a good day Last night I was really itching to eat junk food. I allowed myself a little indulgence, but not like I would normally do. Definitely paying off!
9/28 - 259.8 - Yay! I even ate a big chunk of my calories for dinner and they were mostly carbs. I was worried that I wouldn't have a loss, but I did! Also, I definitely noticed how bloated and uncomfortable my stomach was after I ate that. It made me realize that I haven't been feeling that way much lately anymore. And it's because I've been more conscious of what I'm eating because of this 10 day challenge. I didn't realize how miserable I felt all the time until I wasn't feeling that way anymore and then it happened again. So, definitely a big take away - I'm happier when I feel better and I feel better when I am mindful of what I eat!
9/29 - 262.0 - Well, I didn't meet my goal in the end. Over the 10 days, I had a total loss of 2.2 pounds. Not great, but at least it's progress. I had a mini emotional breakdown last night - these last two weeks I've had 3 interviews and a technical exercise to finish all for the same job. The last interview was yesterday and it did not go as well as I wanted it to. All the stress and emotional/mental exhaustion hit me last night and I ate a poor dinner. I do feel like I've at least started to redirect my mindset to being mindful of what I put into my body. I am proud to say that I logged all of my meals every day during this challenge! I think that's a big part of the mindfulness. I plan to keep up with that for sure!6 -
Starting weight 2012: 201
Starting weight 2017: 184
Round 16 SW: 175 - EW: 174.5
9/20: 173.5
Hm, didn't have enough water yesterday, I might be a bit dehydrated. Actually ate under calories Tue but I went out for a cocktail and dim sum.
9/21: 174
Plenty of water today, no added sugar, declined free cookies, got some exercise, stayed under calories. Potluck tomorrow, we shall see.
9/22: 174
Had a bit more to eat than I should have at my work potluck, but nothing with added sugar and it fit in my calories if I skip my planned dinner, not ideal. Light on water, I'll try to have more before bed.
9/23: 173.5
I hope the scale's not just toying with me again and this loss stays around. Got some exercise today, no added sugars, plenty of water, actually ate a little low, even with a piece of leftover pizza. Maybe a bit too much salt.
9/24: 173.5
No added sugars, good on water, good on calories but I left too many calories til the end of the day so I am overfull after a big dinner. Only incidental exercise. Today's my "Friday" and for the last five days I've resisted all kinds of desserts in the work lunch room, they seemed to multiply this week.
9/25: 175.5. What? Sigh. FML
Well, today I took a hike, ate under my calories. I had some fruit in a restaurant that I could tell were canned in syrup so I did have added sugar. Need to drink more water before the end of the day.
9/26: 174.5
I got lab tests back and my glucose (83) and cholesterol (176) are at an all-time low! [My cholesterol was 237 last year and fasting glucose is usually in high 90s.] I still need to raise my "good" chol a little but my changes have really made a difference. However, my iron is super low, which explains a lot, though not really a surprise. I think it's impacting my fat burning and definitely my energy.
Anyway, today's not over but I'm on track for plenty of water, no added sugar, eating below calories, and I plan to go for a run around 7pm.
9/27: 173.5..... A cautious hooray. Don't break my heart, please don't go back up.
I did OK on calories today, no added sugar, good on water, jogged my mile. Did I mention I can now JOG ONE MILE? Like jogging the whole way, even if it's slow. It's a big deal in my world.
9/28: 173.5
Fine on calories and water, no added sugar, got some exercise.
9/29: 173.0
Posting in the morning, but today I plan to walk to/from work, get plenty of water, eat about 1300 calories, and have no added sugar. Looking forward to Round 18.6 -
I started this journey on round 16.

Round 14
SW: 147.6
End of round goal: 146
Goal: Get to maintenance by the first of the year!
8/27 147.6 ~ (Steps 18,495 Miles 7.36) ~ Today's my sons birthday......Yesterday I was able to get a nice morning walk in plus hit the gym in the evening since it was too hot outside. I had to push myself to hit the gym, it did pay off in the scale, yay! Another pound off, I'm trying to lose the 5 pounds I gained from vacation,
8/28 148.8 ~ Yesterday, since I didn't get ANY exercise in plus my sodium was high, I have a gain. I didn't over eat though so my gain is only a pound. Yesterday's, was a success in my books!
8/29 148.3 ~ (Steps18,169) Miles 7 ~ I was hungry the whole day but was able to stick to my dairy, keeping my sodium low. I decided to try getting a workout before getting breakfast. Last night I had to alter my menu since my husband got off late from work. On the plus side a couple workouts during the day helped.
8/30 147.9 ~ (Steps 19,101 Miles 7.7) ~ Yesterday went well with goals, I was able to get a couple workouts at the gym. I switching up though, having my protein drink after my first workout. I need to focus on more fruits for snacks, after vacation, I'm having trouble incorporating them into my diet.

8/31 146.4 ~ (Steps 28,910 Miles 7.75) ~ Yesterday I was able to get a couple workouts in plus a morning run.... My vacation weight is starting to drop off, only a couple more pounds..... Consistency to no late night snacking is the key
9/01 147.9 ~ (Steps 20,039 Miles 8 miles) ~ I don't understand the gain, I was able to get a nice workout last night plus my sodium wasn't to high. I also ate under my calories allowed so I'm really disappointed with the gain. I did have some watermelon last night but that shouldn't matter.
9/02 148 ~ (Steps 15,232 Miles 6) ~ We went to the Spring fair so my diet wasn't like it usually is, I was able to stay under my calorie goal, making smart choice. I also got a workout after the fair.
9/03 148.5....147.9 ~ (Steps 17,547 Miles 7) ~ Again with the gain, doing everything right, I log everything, stay within my goal, sodium is low, get my water in. I'm going to try dropping my intake to see how that works!
9/04 148 ~ (Steps 15,435 Miles 6) ~ We ended up going to dinner last night but I was able to make healthy choices, in fact taking half home for breakfast today, with such large portions

Not possible to "flunk" this. Did you learn anything yet? That's the wonderful thing about these challenges -- what we learn! It's not all or nothing. Read others' reports. Some went up. Some went down. Some shared wonderful insights. Come back for the next round, please!

Day/Weight/Comment
9/20 255.4 -- Starting the challenge with a nice, new low weight. Hello, 255!
9/21 257.6 -- Chinese take out and a pecan praline-induced snack attack. Let’s make this the high for this round, eh?
9/22 257.0 -- Starting the slow descent; shedding the water and avoiding overeating. Another day or two (or three) and I should be back down to where I started this round.
9/23 256.8 -- Down a titch but I ate right through any deficit last night. Late night snacking is my nemesis!!
9/24 255.6 -- Yay! Self discipline! I even managed to watch Anthony Bourdain eat his way across Paraguay late last night without heading to the kitchen. The urge was there but I fought it!
9/25 254.8 -- CICO rocks! With a new pound reached, time to recalculate TDEE-500 and shave another 5 calories off my daily limit.
9/26 253.6 -- Well, that’s a pleasant surprise!!! Let’s see if we can hold onto it!
9/27 253.4 -- Okay, it’s only 2/10th of a pound since yesterday but it caused my homepage to proclaim 30 pounds down!!
9/28 253.4 -- Snacked right past any deficit last night. Insights abound. Among them: once I start I have difficulty stopping. Oh, I’ll just have this 100 calories morphs easily into 500. Old habits die hard!
9/29 253.6 -- One hopes for a shocking new loss for the last day but I can feel myself holding water this morning. Oh, well. The middle of the range for this challenge is 2.6 lbs. Less than the last so no complaints here!
Round 17/10: HW 257.6 LW 253.4 MidW = 255.5

ROUND 17
Joined MFP at 207 lbs
SW when I joined this challenge: 193.8
R15 start 192.7 End 189.6
R16 start 189.4 End 187.8
End Goal for this round: 185
UWG: 120-130
Goals for a perfect day (adapted from jlemoore's idea):
1. Exercise (at least 30mins)
2. Log ALL my intake (would be good if it stays less than MFP's calories goal, but if not, then not more than 200cal excess)
3. Hit carb and protein goals
9/20 - 187.4 -- so another round begins. I made peace with myself last round regarding those pasta that I mindlessly ate and now I'm back to my usual eating. Setting alarm for water as well since I've noticed that I only consume around 1L when work is hectic.
9/21 - 186.9 -- wonderful loss; slowly but steady. Feeling good also since I was able to drink more water. Also added plain green tea in my drinks list, it tastes weird when unsweetened but I think this is better. I wanna tame my tongue and stop craving for sweets. Stayed within calorie goal but over carb.
9/22 - 186.7 -- good record considering what I did yesterday. Well, I was able to exercise, however I ate too many carbs and too little protein. I ate way more than my caloric goal... like I overate bigtime. The culprit -- BREAD! Before I became mindful of what I ate, I have this habit of trying any 'new' food that I see. And here in my place, there's a lot of varieties of bread and pastries that I never encountered before. To cut the story short, my colleague brought with her a freshly baked stuffed bread with stuffing I've never seen before, soem sort of green powder mixed with feta cheese, I think. And it smelled so good and tasted good, the supposed one bite became 4 pieces of it, one piece the size of half my fist. Then I snapped out of it, asked the ingredients she used, and felt like crying. Need to behave big time!
9/23 - 185.6 -- Looked like behaving well yesterday did the trick, apparently. Was able to accomplish my exercise goal again and finally hit my protein goal. A friend of mine just came back from vacation and his greeting when he finally saw me was, "What happened to you? Aren't you eating? You lost weight!!!" and I was like thinking, "really? I don't even see the difference in the mirror..." but well, I was really happy.
9/24 - 185.4 -- yesterday was a repeat of 09/20: too many carbs and too little protein. Though I'm glad that it didn't affect my weight, I know that I should correct this or this will become a big problem. Any suggestion on how to avoid overeating carbs?
9/25 - 184.9 -- woohoo!!! still doing good! Exercise done! Complete log done! I finally lowered by carbs intake (though still over) and hit my protein goal! Hopefully, I can keep this rate and finally be able to consistently hit my macros goals.
9/26 - 185.6 -- water retention. Had a tasty yet salty noodle dish last night. I knew I shouldn't even have had it, but it's a dish I haven't have for years, so I indulged in a cup and half of sinful goodness... Moving on!!!
9/27 - 183.9 -- back on track! Got my macros in good numbers as well. Definitely feeling great!
9/28 - 183.2 -- I have no words. Just, I'm so delighted by these numbers! **dance**dance**
9/29 - 183.0 -- ok! Goal definitely reached, lost even more actually! It was a wonderful journey with all of you! See you next round!
