I HAVE the power and determination to do this.

    Observations, and Previous Rounds
Many events along the way will scupper our best intentions, but they merely delay the achievement of our goals. Life is for living, and one must learn patience. It takes many years to put on excess weight, so It follows that it takes much time to remove, but it is coming off, bit by stubborn bit! Stick with it! The game continues!

A lot of people get upset by apparent weight gain when they have been working their butts off. Body weight fluctuates, both up, and down, from one day to the next depending on so many factors. From my experience:
    • Changes often take several days to show on the scale.
    • A drop is often followed by a bounce up before it settles back down. A general downward trend is the aim.
    • A high sodium day usually results in a gain due to water retention, unless you drink extra fluids to flush it out.
Don't beat yourself up over a temporary gain. Trust the process and stick with the programme.
If you are making positive lifestyle changes it will lead to increased health and fitness.
Slow and steady leads to sustainable weight loss.
But remember to live a little along the way!

    Starting weight (Nov 2016): 202.2 GW1: 142 UGW: 135

    R16 SW: 159.6 R16 EW: 157.6

9/20: 157 :smile:/Getting closer to my lowest weight from the last round (156.2). I fit the catered Chipotle I had at work yesterday into my calories. I now make it a habit to ask what we will be eating on late nights so I can plan it into my calories so I don't have to bring my own food while everyone else is eating catered food. This is now two days in a row that I didn't go to the gym. I was so exhausted. I have to go tomorrow!
9/21: 156.8 :smile:/Continuing the downward trend, though it's going very slowly. I have today and tomorrow off so hopefully I can stay on track...it's harder on non-work days!
9/22: 156.4 :smile:/This is still higher than my lowest weight in R16 (156.2). I feel so impatient but I'm going to keep chugging along. I can't wait to see 155.xx. Ate out for lunch and dinner but relatively healthy and within calories. Did weights and circuit training exercises. Off to go swimming now.
9/23: 155.8 :smile:/Cautiously optimistic! Fearing the uptick! Nevertheless, it was thrilling to see 155.x! I'm now less than a pound away (154.9) from entering the healthy BMI range! Biked to the pool yesterday and swam laps. Ate under calories so I can save them for later.
9/24: 155.6 :smile:/Ate back all my exercise calories yesterday, which I usually don't do...including 3 glasses of wine. Had a thing in midtown last night and walked halfway and biked the other halfway home instead of taking the subway! I love these bike share programs!
9/25: 155.4 :smile:/Good day today. Went to the gym. Mostly did weights. A couple of unpredictable days coming up. Really struggling with water intake.
9/26: 155.2 :smile:/Slow and steady it seems. 0.4 lbs away from being in the normal BMI range for the first time in my adult life! Ate back exercise calories, so slightly under calorie goal (including exercise). My muscles ache from the lifting! Worried about my sushi dinner tomorrow. It's definitely a weakness of mine.
9/27: 154.2 :smiley:/Wow! This is an insane drop. Might go back up but for now...I've hit the normal BMI range!!!! Had my sushi today (delicious!) and I think it's within my calories (based on estimates, not measurements). Couldn't get any workout in today but played some casual badminton with my students.
9/28: 154.2 :)/This number didn't go back up! Ate under calories today but no exercise. Feeling major bloating right now from TOM, which started today. I'll see if this affects the scale tomorrow. Need to drink more water, like always :/.
9/29: 155.4 :(/Well, there's the TOM uptick. Ate over calories yesterday. It's so hard during this time. But under maintenance.

    Ready to go again

    Current weight: 135.8
    8 week goal: 125
    Long term goal: 115?

9/20 135.8 was lower yesterday but ate a burrito for dinner last night because kitchen sink exploded.
9/21 133.6 well that was unexpected. Let's see if the drop sticks around...
9/22 135.2 noooope. Oh well. Still trending downward
9/23 134.4 down again. Good enough.
    9/24 135.0
9/25 136.8 ooof. Let my carb intake creep up the last couple days and it really shows on the scale...
9/26 134.8 kept carbs lower yesterday and the effect is pretty immediate
    9/27 133.8
9/28 I guess my post gotten eaten yesterday. I don't remember what it was...
    9/29 134.8
    9/30 135.8

Well... I finished this round the same as I started, but dipped to exciting numbers during the will. My goal for next round is to stabilize at those lower numbers.

10 Day Goal:153.3 This is 10 lbs. down from when I first began

    Day/Weight/Comment
9/19- 154.44 Does walking Costco count as exercise? lol Kept to our grocery list and avoided buying a pizza for dinner, even though it was calling me the entire time. Came home and found a salmon patty instead with salad and a few sweet potato fries. Didn't follow my plan, but made positive choices.
9/20- 154.22 Managed to get in a mile walk before it started to rain. Feeling determined to reach my goal this round.
9/21- 155.32 Absolutely no reason for this gain. Eating below calories, getting exercise in, and drinking plenty of water. Hopefully this is only temporary. (my hair was damp when I weighed today, so that might be a small part of this)
9/22- 154.44 Glad the weight is back down. That Costco pizza was still on my mind today, but no one answered when we called to order ahead, so we ended up eating leftovers. Thank you Costco. You saved me a bunch of calories. lol Tomorrow we are doing a university tour with my son so there will be lots of walking.
9/23- 154.44 Seems like my body is happy at this weight, but I am not. I did tons of walking today to the point my feet and legs ache. Lots of hills and staircases. My plan is to take it easy tomorrow and perhaps work in my garden if the weather cooperates.
9/24- 153.78 Hopefully optimistic this weight will stick (or drop). I'm less sore than I expected, but still took a day off. Need to do meal planning for next week.
9/25- 153.12 If this number is true, I have now lost 10 lbs since starting. I've really worked hard and stuck to my calories each day (with the exception of one day I'm not 100% sure of). I have more to go, but this success has me on a high.
9/26-152.68 I have a chest infection and have slept the majority of the day.
9/27- No weigh in today. I have no hot water and the boiler piece is going to take a few days to get. On top of that, my oven died this morning. I will be without for probably the next week and a half. We ate fast food for dinner, and I'm ok with that. It fell within my calories (barely). Tomorrow is a new day and I will utilize my crock-pot the best I can. I just hope I can come up with some low calorie ideas for it.
9/28- 153.12 At little up today, but I guess I'll take it. Went on a 1.3 mile walk and stayed under calories.
9/29- 153.12 Met my goal again this round. Was over by 100 calories today, but I am finding it more difficult than expected to live without my oven.

I'm back! I've been a part of this group for so long now that posting is just an automatic response because it's truly a part of my daily routine. I'm so appreciative of all the support and encouragement along my journey. I am starting this Round down 4 oz from my last round. If I could just get to 174 this Round, I'd be happy.

    Start Weight: 202
    R17: 174.6
    GW: 174
    UGW:125

09/20: 174.6 So, Mom is getting released from rehab on Saturday. I fell off a table at work yesterday because I was hanging up some anchor charts and landed on a concrete floor. I know, I should have used a stool. I was pretty sore yesterday, but I am better today except for my finger. I jammed it when trying to catch myself.
09/21: 174.4 This is the 4th time I've seen this number. I have yet to get any lower than this or to have my BIG WHOOSH! It's been 2 weeks. It's only a matter of time, right?! The tortoise beat the hare.
09/22: 174! I hit my 4 oz!!!! I've officially lost 28lbs. I'm so behind thrilled. Now, I just want to lose 2 more pounds, and that will put me at a 30 lb loss and the same weight as my teenage son, who happens to be 7 inches taller than me.
09/23: 173.6 YIPPEE! I've dropped into a new number in the 70s. This is my newest low! I haven't seen this number since my first pregnancy, and that was about 14 years ago. Say what now?!
09/24: 174.4 What in the world?! I biked 6.5 miles yesterday before my day got crazy and walked about 8000 steps because we picked up Mom from rehab, and now she's back home. I stuck to my water, and I was under my calories. BTW: this is the 5th time I've seen this number now. I think it really likes me, but I'm starting to think I don't like it very much. Lol
09/25: 174.2 I completed a 5k walk yesterday in honor of Mom (MIL) for lung cancer awareness with my husband and 3 children. She has been battling it over a year now as some of you know and has done amazingly. I also grabbed some things from the store, came home and cleaned house, and I did my lesson planning for the kiddos this week. With everything combined that I did, I put in over 14g steps. Whew!
09/26: 173.6 Really struggling to meet my calorie goal. I didn't get it. Now, I do. If you don't consume enough, your body thinks it's starving and your metabolism slows down. Your weight loss will stall. So, eat those calories that MFP sets for you. It may sound weird, but it has something to burn, so you'll lose weight. I am determined to get 1500 calories in.
09/27: 173.6 I hit my 1500 calorie goal! No, I didn't eat more even though I exercised. That was an accomplishment in itself. :) I also decided to up my steps by 500 because I finally got into the swing of walking more. :) Let's hope this eating more calories things work! Oh...oh...oh...I also did research and found that what most doctors consider good macros is 40% carbs, 30% fat, and 30% protein. So, I've adjusted that too.
09/28: 172.8 I'm doing a happy dance, a happy dance!!!! I didn't meet my goal last round, but I met this round and last rounds goal together today. :) Woot Woot! I hit my 1500 calorie mark. I was very close to my macros, and I went on a 4- mile bike ride after work with my husband as a way to unwind and chat about our day. I am only 8 oz. away from losing a total of 30lbs! That's my next goal ladies and gents. :) I've got my eye on the target.
09/29: 174 lbs Birthday with my Daddy and a visit with my Grandma who lives out of state. Ate a sandwich high in carbs, but I did refuse chips and birthday cake and ice cream. I also refused soda and stuck to my water, but here I am again, which was my goal weight for this round so I shouldn't complain.
09/30: 172.6 YAY!!!! I lost 1.4 lbs more than I had planned. I made up for my last round too. So I did it!!!!! TOM ia about gone also. Took my MIL out to dinner last night for her birthday. We went Mexican, and I ordered arroz con frijoles (chicken, cheese, and beans). I also stuck with water and no dessert. Whew!

    Hi Everyone!

Excited to start my Round #2 here in Round #17.

    4/1/17 Highest Weight..ever 268
    4/9/17 Started Keto Lifestyle 268
    9/9/17 Started 1st Round 238.6 lost 30lbs
    9/19/17 End of 1st Round 233.9 lost 4.7lbs

    Round #2

9/20- 233.9 Same- which I'm surprised since last night I had a big salad for Dinner. No croutons of course!

    9/21- 233.9
    9/22- 234.1
    9/23- 235.0 I know its a tad over a pound but it's ok!
    9/24- 235
    9/25- 235
    9/26- 234.4
    9/27- 233
    9/28- 233
    9/29- 233

One of my down falls or Vise is my Diet Mt. Dew. I have stopped drinking it for the first 3 months of Keto but I've been slowly adding it back in because I love it so much. I've been drinking "as a special treat" since I was about 10yrs old. When I started working more, longer hours, stressed..I was drinking up to 3-4 a day. Long story short...I started drinking 1 a day. I'm sure this has been slowing me down with weight loss...BUT!!! I was so excited to find that Diet Mt. Dew now has Sucralose in it instead of Aspartame. So I don't feel bad drinking one of those. Diet Pepsi now makes theirs without Aspartame...which is great!! Anyway..On to Round 18!! Happy I'm at least down almost 1 more lb.

My attitude has always been, if you fall flat on your face, at least you're moving forward. All you have to do is get back up and try again.

    R09 SW 197.8. (My round 1)
    R10 SW 198.9
    R11 SW 196.7
    R12 SW 196.9
    R13 SW 193.3
    R14 SW 194.9
    R15 SW 192.7
    R16 SW 195.8
    R17 SW 194.2

    Day/Weight/Comment
9/20 - 193.3. 2 days of good exercise, eating the right number of calories and drinking plenty of fluids
9/21 - 193.1 Had a good day yesterday. Let's keep it up. Really had to work to get 10K steps recorded; I went to work with my fitbit left behind on the bathroom windowsill. :open_mouth:
9/22 - 191.6 I love the woosh. And jogging. And rotisserie chicken with asparagus after jogging. Feeling a little giddy obviously. Hope the rest of YOUR day goes as well as my weigh in!
9/23 - 191.8 This is a totally good number. Let's see the number tomorrow. I just ate lunch at Panera with some girlfriends and had a lovely time. Counted everything, but I have no idea how much sodium is in the food. I seem to be sodium sensitive in relation to fluid retention.
9/24 - 191.6 :sunglasses: Office day yesterday with a nice lunch break. Had a lovely T-bone last night and I limited myself to only 4 ounces. Gave the dog my fat trim. Now I have lots of delicious leftovers available. back in the office today. No days off this week for me.
9/25 - 193.6 Ugh. Way more carbs than usual. Too much sitting. Lots of factors. Hopefully this is the temp swing - not the 191 days before. Stay diligent.
9/26 - 192.2 I like the down days. B) Was a little light on the calories yesterday. Walked earlier than usual and the heat killed my appetite for dinner.

    9/27 - 192.2 Holding steady.

    9/28 - 192.7
    9/29 - 194.0
