I have been on Keto for a month and lost 16lbs so far! I haven't worked out yet but am starting next week to boost my metabolism and lose even more while toning.20

I've been Keto for 6 months and have lost 46lbs. I'm not working out, only doing keto. My husband is doing it with me, which really helps.27

I've been doing keto since August and have lost almost 15 lbs. Had a bad wk last wk due to some personal issues but I'm back on track this wk. And I do workout. It's been a game changer for me bc I had lost wt previously without any problems. Gained some back and tried everything.....decreased my calories, increased my calories, ate back my exercise calories, didn't eat them back, everything...I was just stuck for almost 2 yrs. Started Keto and it started coming off right away. Now I will go 2 or 3 wks and not lose anything which is really frustrating but I repeat in my mind over and over "trust the process". Then all of the sudden I'll lose 3 or more pounds in a matter of a couple of days. Good luck on your journey. I'm sure it's not for everybody but you just have to find what works for you.16

Been keto for 5 months and lost 22 lbs. which is all I had left to lose. Overall weight loss is 47 lbs. I'm also working out.16

When I was doing Keto I had a lot of energy and I would never stray from working out no matter what diet I am on. If you have the ability to exercise then I suggest doing it as it's wonderful. But, to each their own. I know a lot of people that don't work out and lose weight just fine as long as they're in a calorie deficit.8 -
I am currently doing Keto and working out 5-6 days a week. Did low carb for years and I think my body just got use to it. As soon as I started doing Keto, it jumped started my weight loss and I had more energy when working out.6

I started lowering my carbs June 22. Was kept by September. I'm down 53.2 since June 22. I haven't done much at all for exercise.14

Three years ago, I did keto for 5 months and lost 75 lbs but gained it all back after going back to bad old habits. I've been back on it for a week and I weigh in tomorrow. I wouldn't be surprised if I lost a good 5 lbs. I know a lot of it may be water weight, but I certainly do feel so much better already. My mood is better. I feel lighter. I have a bit more energy. I don't feel bloated and blah anymore. It's a big difference. I'm excited to continue this journey. Feel free to add me if you like.11

Started Keto September 1 of this year, and today I'm down 17 pounds. I have only worked out twice, and it was mostly weights for 20-30 minutes and a little running (1 mile).13

I started Keto in March of 2016 and lost 25lbs. I've mostly kept it off and I work out 4 days a week, lifting heavy and a bit of cardio.7

My husband and I just began the keto diet about a week ago and it's been a challenge to say the least. We have been walking about 2 miles every night along with it I've lost 4 lbs so far but I'm assuming it's all water since we just began.

That's awesome success! Good for you!! I've been on for a few wks and down about 7...took a bit to get hang of it but well on my way. Trying not to step on scale as it's discouraged me...feel like ive lost more just by my face and how I feel when I walk. I'm 4'11 and 138 down from 144 and 149 at highest not counting preggo weight which reached 165..urgh. So add me! Would love to do as part of a group!6

I started on the 10th of this month. So not even two weeks yet. I have so much more self control than i thought i would have. I never thought id make it this far. Im not working out.. I have five kids that keep me busy. Plus i have zero energy do to health issues. So im hoping keto helps. And eventually i will be adding exercise to this WOL. Even if i dont lose weight...id just like to feel normal again. I'd like to wake up and not feel tired. Id like to not need a nap every day. No dizziness or passing out. So many things. Im tired of having to see 10 different specialists. Normal is my first goal... Then weight loss.18

You can do it!!!!2

I've been doing keto with no exercise (my job is physically active though) for a little over 2 months and lost 36 pounds. 14-22 carbs a day I range and about 1200-1500 calories a day15

I started keto October 12, 2017 (eight days ago) with my husband. We did the fasting mimicking diet last Thursday into early Friday evening to get into Ketosis faster (we used the ketostix to gauge our level). We then calculated our macros and began eating a ketogenic diet. We both have always worked out but I couldn't get my weight to budge - I couldn't accept that you can't out train a bad diet. I go to the gym 5-6 days per week and do a little cardio and mostly strength train. I'm down 8 pounds as of this morning (whoo hoo!!). I'm doing the <50 gm of net carbs and I'm in the 1900 calorie/day range based on MFP calcs - I haven't yet managed to eat that many calories but I get close.
My Stats:
Height: 5'6"
Age: 45
SW:171 lbs
Weight Today: 163
GW: 140-150 (depending on where my body fat percentage lands - want to be in a healthier range)
Yesterday I only had 30 minutes to work out so I did 10 minutes of cardio (usually stationary bike - it gets me sweating quickly) followed by upper body strength training - bench press, lat pull down, seated row and cable tricep pulls 3x10 reps moderately heavy (it's relative). Woke up this morning 2 lbs. lighter. I try to drink 3 liters of water per day too.
Hope this gives you some perspective. Just remember everyone's story is unique to them. What works for one person may not work for another. Keep trying until you figure out your sweet spot. You got this!7 -
Hi all, I am just getting started with the Keto diet as well. Would anyone mind sharing their go-to foods? Also, what do you use in place of milk? I usually try to drink 1-2 glasses of grass fed whole milk a day to help with my bone/teeth strength and am worried about that. Do you just supplement with Calcium? Thanks for your help!2

Hi! Day 2 on keto and have lost .8oz already. Noticing it's a little hard with keto and the most important thing is to plan ahead and you will succeed lol. Meal prep is definitely key I'm noticing. My main thing is trying to stay away from sweets and pasta because I LOVE spaghetti but will have to control my urges lol. Am noticing I'm not getting vitamin c so I will be getting tablets. Also found out 1/4 Orange helps as well. Add me. Would love to see some more success stories4

If you really really want milk try switching to Fairlife https://fairlife.com/ultra-filtered-milks/whole-milk/ its whole milk/full fat but with reduced sugar and increased calcium2

Unsweetned vanilla almond/cashew milk is BOMB!! I don't even buy the regular stuff anymore.8 -
I have lost 90 lbs in about 18 months on keto. Lost 80 lbs in the first year then spent about 6 months messing around and not really losing or gaining. The past month I'm down 10 with only 10 more pounds to go! 305 lbs to 215 today.16

Down 35 lbs and have been doing keto 3 months. 15 to go!
I do cardio 5-6 times a week (run 3 times/elliptical 2-3). I also watch calories but the best part of keto for me is low appetite. In the beginning I had trouble meeting minimum calories daily - not such a problem now! For food, I eat fish, eggs, cheese, veggie burgers as main protein and make sure to get lots of veggies in. Dinner is usually a huge salad with full fat dressing (usually creamy like ranch) + a protein choice. Sometimes l'll make something like zucchini lasagne or a spinach quiche and eat it over a few days but generally keep it simple.
I aim for <20 net carbs a day.
YMMV7 -

Bell peppers, especially red and yellow have more vitamin c than an orange as do some other veggies. 1 pepper = ~3 net carbs.

I've been keto for 6 weeks and lost 23 lbs.
I have exercised exactly 2 times. Most of the weight came off in the first 3 weeks. Now it has slowed to 2-3lbs/week.
I put my calorie intake lower than MFP suggested, though. It had my maintenance calories at about 3000/day. Another calculator that I think is more accurate placed me closer to 2600/day for maintenance. So I put myself at 1600/day to achieve ~2lbs/week weight loss.7 -
Does anyone know why some people lose more weight on a low carb diet?
Is it because some people don't 'process' carbs well?
Thank you!3 -

Just to give an update on this thread, I lost 9.3 lbs in the first week, so even better than expected.7 -

So far, my "go to" foods, are avocado, spinach and 50/50 mix salad, cheese, different meat sources for protein (tuna, chicken, beef roast, ground beef, salmon), eggs, bacon, and almond milk. I drink the unsweetened, vanilla almond milk. I always loved regular milk, but this almond milk isn't bad at all as a replacement. I put it, or heavy cream in my coffee each morning.

On Tuesday I’ll have been keto for 1 year. Although I did go on and off between mid January through mid May. I’ve been back on fully since mid May. In total I’m down 51 lbs. Looking to lose 73 more pounds.5
