Success/struggles of the week: I have been having wicked cravings for carbs recently. It could be the change in the weather (it's finally gotten cold here in the Northeast) plus a bit of stress! I decided to adjust my macros to get more protein - 45% carbs, 25% protein, %30 fat. I will see if this alleviates some of those cravings. Also need to make sure I get my exercise in this week. I actually lost weight last holiday season (nearly 10 pounds), so I should be able to maintain now!3 -
@CoachJen71 What if you take off your fitness tracker for a few days? Yes, I would probably want to hurt someone if I did, but. Trust yourself to eat/exercise in a way that works for you. It is, obviously, easier said than done. I will if you will. Let me know...
What used to be your stress reliever (besides food)? Can you read a book? Bake? (I have lots of recipes that are low calorie and am willing to share) Draw? Write? Sew?
I have thought about going Fitbit free, but don't feel quite ready yet. I do so much better with externally structured activities like classes, but I don't drive so it's hard to work into my life.
Will have to give it some thought and to what I would like to do. I wish I was younger and had less damage to my body. I would adore taking dance classes of all kinds!! But unfortunately with my fragile joints, they are out of the question.2 -

Success/struggles of the week:
- I've been trying to get in my daily steps as much as possible. Some days I went well over and some days I didn't reach it.
- I started eating better at the start of the week but had incredible cravings the last couple of days. It was a huge struggle and I gave in at times.
- Sleep is not so good either which is triggering headaches/migraine.

Successes: Been gone for week on vacation in Cancun. We had a wonderful time, ate too much, drank too much, got lots of sun (vitamin D!). Didn't log the entire week. Was dreading the scales, but I had a happy surprise. I maintained my weight. Exact number. Today was 1lb less, but I'm not holding up hope that it's really a loss, not just a fluxuation due to air travel and water weight. I consider maintaining my weight after being at an all inclusive Mexican Resort for 1 week a major success. I also consider me starting back logging the day after we returned a major success. I even made myself go grocery shopping to get healthy food instead of relying on fast food the day of our return. My sinuses are on a weather related roller coaster, so my appetite is small. I expect some low days in my near future.
Struggles: Trying to decide what to make for Thanksgiving. Turkey is thawing, have plans for Cornbread/Sausage Stuffing, Mashed Potatoes and Roasted Brussel Sprouts. May buy a pie (request from my BF, I'm not that thrilled with sweets). I think we'll do our big meal Friday, as I have off work and my BF has to work. It will give me time to work solo in the kitchen. It's just us as our families do things seperate and after traveling last week, we are welcoming small and quiet.
The plan is to start with a personal trainer after the 1st of the year. I'm almost 39 years old and I've never worked with one, so it will be an experience!

Success/struggles of the week: Not much change this week, which is good in maintenance. We'll have to see how next week goes after the holiday. I'm not worried about it though. I know that even if my weight goes up a bit it will come back down. I managed to get through the last 2 Thanksgiving holidays without any serious issues so I'm sure this one won't be any different. I hope everyone who celebrates enjoys their holiday and doesn't stress too much about it. It is really just one day (maybe one weekend) and as long as we don't eat like that every day it will be ok.4 -

Success/struggles of the week:
Well, the week started out well... for the first four days I ate all of my magnificant, thoroughly enjoyable, "maintenance" calories. On Day 5 I ran into a severe calorie shortage due to "wasting" calories at lunchtime at a new restaurant, and not earning the 600 - 700 extra calories I usually earn through exercise. So I decided to eat somewhat beyond my daily allotment... then I decided to go a bit more beyond, and so on and so forth. That was my first binge in a year! And the first time I've ever kept precise track of how many calories were involved. I decided that I needed to
formally repay my calorie debt, and (hehe) worked out a repayment schedule. Counting today It's been three days, and I've made three repayments. I'm already noticing a difference with this "honour my debts" approach: whereas in the past I would have been thinking about repeating the blow-out, now I'm busy calculating how much I can increase my scheduled payments to get out of debt sooner - when I'm again debt-free it'll be a fine privilege and reward to be eating at maintenance again. Success/struggles of the week: my weight and trend are up a bit. Too much snacking, too much temptation around that i say yes! to. Also too much stress and not enough sleep. Well, so if i manage to turn it around, i should be fine in no time. Happy Thanksgiving to those, who celebrate!2 -

Successes of the week: I am starting to come out of my denial a bit about my compulsive and self-justified eating. Wearing my tightest pants for Thanksgiving helped clear that up a bit. My belly fat has been fluffing out for the last month, and it's now hanging over the top of said pants. (Weight is down this week because I did cut at least a little, and I think my Jasmine green tea must have counteracted yesterday's sodium, because a looooooot of water left me overnight.)
Challenges of the week: I ate less food than last year, but didn't entirely stick with my plan. Only took one plate at the table, but I nibbled on stuffing and cornbread casserole while transferring the tons of leftovers and holiday treats hanging around the house. Am going to go freeze some this morning.
On the plus side, I weigh less than I did this time last year, so overall I am still winning the war. Yay, me!!2 -

I hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving (USA).
It's been a horrific week stress-wise, due to some huge issues with a project I'm working on. Just when i was feeling a bit better, I got another email last night that set me off again. I'm not very good at dealing with situations that make me feel like I've been ignored for 6 months despite all my instructions.
I've kept my eating and exercise on track despite the stress and holiday, and I continue to make progress each week in my women on weights class. I'm closing in on some big FitBit milestones I plan to reach by the end of the year. Thank goodness for workouts!

Success/struggles of the week:
My back muscles have ceased being seized up since I hurt my back September 30. My moving average that jumped 1 kg has started moving back down.
Been keeping a nice balance between rest and running. Did 24 km on Sunday, and then rested till Friday and now Friday and Saturday’s performance stats have been excellent.
I also got scientific advice that tells me it's likely the 2 kg I've gained since January is due to muscle and glycogen from increasing pace and endurance while training for and completing my first marathon, and consistent exercise.

Success/struggles of the week/month: 8 weeks in increasing calories. It's an interesting approach but I feel really good and successful with it. I have a bingy personality and tend to yo yo so for me gradually increasing my intake every other week and now every week is working. My huge success this week was that I was able to run a new personal best pace. My goal is to be able to do 10 min miles in a 5K by the time I turn 60 next August.. I feel a new encouragement that I will be able to easily meet or surpass this goal. Struggles just the normal ones as far as thanksgiving and lots of goodies floating around. I had an interesting lightbulb moment this year. My parents have been gone for quite a few years and it always seemed to me like they were watching me like a hawk - was I eating. was I not eating etc.. (Jewish parents what can I say?! LOL) This year it suddenly occurred to me that no one really GAVE a *kitten* what I was eating or not eating. Talk about a relief. I think us yo yo 'ers feel more paranoid about stuff like this than normal people anyway. duh. No one really cares.3 -

Exactly the same as last week. And still not back in range, Oh well. However, I'm not so bothered. Probably because I'm smaller in size (took measurements) than I was this time last year when I weighed slightly lower. My clothes are the same infact a little looser. I'm tempted to bring down my maintenance max number but I'm just gonna keep it as it is just as a mental barrier. I will still be aiming to be around that number.4 -

Successes: I think I'm the only looney tune in the world that can lose a pound during Thanksgiving week, after just spent a week in Cancun at an all inclusive resort...our small Thanksgiving feast went very well, of course we have tons of leftovers left (that I'm trying to leave to my BF to finish). He asked me to make chocolate chip cookies last week (which I did Thursday). I managed to only eat 2 from the whole batch. I call that a success! Of course I kindly asked him to removed most of the them from the house Friday...LOL
Struggles: I had a couple days where I didn't log very truthfully this week. Which makes me wonder how I actually lost weight. I may have a beer or two more than what's actually on my log. And a few forgotten snacks. And maybe I might have not weighed a few things. Opps. That's stopping this week, I'm back to being truthful
Unfortunately I'm not sure if it will work out with the planned on personal trainer...she sent me some plan last week called "Holiday Detox" and was asking an astromical amount of money to do it. And I told her my goal is to have her show me things in the gym, not nutrition (since I'm doing well keeping my weight low on my own) she kinda got snippy. After telling her I'm literally lighter than I've ever been in my adult life, she said well this will help you keep it off. I politely told her I was doing well on that on my own! So, it seems my chosen personal trainer wants to dabble in "detoxes". And I'm not having it...
It's my 39th birthday this Sunday...Nothing major planned, it will be the last weekend until the New Year that I have my BF at home...his office is moving and he's in IT...so his schedule will be all messed up for the next month...

Success/struggles of the week: Thanksgiving went well. I tried to log, but I did a lot of guessing so I'm sure it wasn't real accurate. But my weight was actually down a little this morning. My trend is still in range even though my actual weight is a little below range. I was down to my lowest ever (lower than I want to be) on Thanksgiving morning and then up 2.6 pounds on Friday. But I am back down this morning. I knew it was just fluctuations, but it is good to see that even if I indulge some it is not negatively affecting my weight as long as I keep an eye on my portion sizes and keep my activity up.4 -

Success/struggles for the week: I cooked for 25 people for 3 days over the holiday weekend and didn't worry about tracking my food. I did not over eat during meals, but had way more desserts than I ever have. Overall I feel good about the scale results after the holiday.3 -

Success/struggles of the week:
During my weight loss phase, I steered clear of foods like cake and cookies and chocolate, and had a pretty serene, craving-free existence. Now that I am re-introducing these foods, and eating more and more of them, the cravings for even more have been extreme. Started buying awesome chocolate croissants and found myself wanting to eat them for breakfast, for lunch, and for dinner! And did! Oh that thick chocolate filling! So now I am reining myself in. Yes indeedy, maintenance requires vigilance! On the plus side, I am enjoying eating at my supposed TDEE, with no deficit. Still like the idea of being at the lower end of my maintenance range though, so come January may reinstate a small deficit.2 -

Struggles/successes of the week:
No binging and no restricting since November 3! I made it through a business trip to Atlanta and Thanksgiving! Still losing weight though, but I don’t want to change anything drastic yet.3
