JUST GIVE ME 10 DAYS | Round 23

11/19 - 158.4 ... (10,145)
11/20 - 157.6 ... So I think the loss is due to getting back on track with my steps (13,169) and mostly water weight. yippee!! I survived my first 2 get together advents of the season. Goal is to stay with the 5's
11/21 - 158.6 ... Still a 5!! (15,488 steps) Didn't pack a lunch but still ate well. Wasn't overly hungry but got in 1200+ calories. Working hard at trying to get it together so so busy and it's not 'gonna' slow down anytime soon.
11/22 - 157.6 ... (15,200 steps) Had cake, no idea how many calories it was. So shaved off some lunch items and had a light dinner. Got my walking in and forgot my salad dressing this morning.
11/23 - 157.7 ... (12,700) Just made my steps, hit cal goal and packed a lunch. Busy day at work filled with donuts, specialty coffees and STRESS... Happy Thanksgiving to all US friends, hope you enjoy the day, have a great dinner with family and friends and whatever happens just get back at it tomorrow!!!
11/24 - 157.0 ... (19,160) Pizza day at work. Do I opt out or just get a small piece? Extra STRESS today as SO is driving half way across the country (Canada) in a rig with landslides, road closures and winter/rain conditions. Need to hold my breath for 3 days!!
11/25 - 155.9 ... ‘what what’. Maybe my scale needs batteries? (17,800 Steps). Goal to hit 20,000.
11/26 - 154.4 ... This is the very tippy top of a normal BMI and a total loss of (- 68.7) lbs. Since finding my treadmill again and getting my walk on I think I’ve had a few whooshes. As per usual SO comes come in a few days so holding on to this will be extra hard. Oh yeah the stress has disappeared for the weekend perhaps that’s helped too. (20,549 steps). Off to buy a dishwasher!! Happy Sunday.
11/27 - 154.8 ... (17,380 steps) Went for a run yesterday, I'm pretty slow. 30 minutes and did about 3.76km and included a few hills, funny I am way better at running up hill than down.
11/28 - 155.4 (13,100 steps). Ugggh no sleep so tired! SO is in charge of dinner tonight. Gotta get those steps in, think I'll need to get 20,000 in but it's not looking promising. Hope everyone had a great 10 days... December up next.... Bring it I'm ready for you!!!4 -
@SheilaBoneham Thank you for your remark about feeling “stuck!” I have been feeling this way for several rounds but figuring my AVERAGE over each 10 days reveals a fairly steady (but slow) loss.
@cjsacto I wish I had read your entry from yesterday yesterday! Back in the 80’s when I first joined WW, I was a plate cleaner! Anything my girls left on their plates, I ate! So I had them clear the plates from the table, put them in the sink and run water on them! Much less appealing that way! I’ve done that with things like your banana bread just so I don’t have to hear it calling!

11/19 150.0 I got on and off the scale 3 times to make sure this was real! I even took a picture! So excited because the last 4 days have included 2 potlucks and a buffet at Golden Corral for my husband’s birthday and lunch today with our daughter and her family.
11/20 151 This is okay. It occurred to me that I accidentally fasted from our meal on Friday until Saturday evening. I was visiting with a friend who is moving and realized when I got home that I had not eaten anything all day. I may incorporate a one day a week fast into my plan.
11/21 150.5 Bouncy bouncy
11/22 150.0
11/23 149.0 What a wonderful Thanksgiving with our younger daughter and her family!
11/24 149.5 Not bad at all after Thanksgiving. Didn’t stuff my self but was quite satisfied. When I thought about having some dessert in the evening I had a piece of turkey instead. This +0.5 is a normal bounce. I’m happy with it.

11/26 150.5 WTH??? Salt? I do not feel this was deserved.

11/28 150 Until I figured my average, I was tempted to quit. My daughter and I are both feeling very frustrated. I have encouraged her to join these challenges and sent her the link to Rnd 24. We’ll see.3 -
Back for another round. So thankful for this challenge; I learn a lot from all of you.

Round 12: 171.4
Round 13: 168.6

Round 16: 164.4
Round 18: 164.1
Round 20: 165
Round 21: 164.5
Round 22: 164.1
11/19: 163.5 Nice little drop there.
11/20: 164.9 Grrr. I am not surprised. Started a new level on my weights this weekend and went to get a massage yesterday. Had some wine and a delicious dinner afterwards. I am sore all over! Focus is on the water today.
11/21: 164.6 I've stopped tracking; need to start that up again as I think it will help me with eating better foods at a deficit (instead of maintaining, which is what I have been doing). Had a good run on the treadmill last night. I am starting to feel my muscles again!
11/22: 164.3 Had a nice mini hike with my son yesterday. We went to his favorite pizza place and I managed to order a half spinach salad instead of the slice. Really did not want to see a bounce up today! lol Prepping for dinner tomorrow... stuffing, pie, and veggies are on my list.
11/23: 165.4 Okay, I have to keep reminding myself it is not about the number... but about my mindset and the changes I am making. I allow myself one plate today and one tomorrow and will get plenty of water, and plenty of exercise. Happy Thanksgiving!
11/24: 164.3 Nice. I was able to monitor myself pretty well. Yesterday I did my weights and 20 minutes on my elliptical before I headed over to my parents' house. Limited myself to one plate and I felt exhausted after eating all those carbs! It was quite delicious, though. Back on track today; went to the gym and ran 3 miles.
11/25: 163.3 I have seen this number before. TOM came back. Couldn't get enough of me apparently. @tishawj, you are so right... so unpredictable!!
11/26: 163.1 A day in the city with the family yesterday. Got my steps in, and then we got home and cleaned up leaves, pulled weeds, etc. Needless to say, too tired to exercise! My eating was not the best; a glass of white wine and some leftover artichoke dip and chips should not have been dinner, but I had a nice green salad for lunch, so... balance?
11/27: 163.5 Celebrated a friend's birthday with a margarita and mexican food yesterday. I only got about 5 hours of sleep; dragging today. I'd like to end with a loss this round, so am tracking every bite and getting the water in today.
11/27: 161.4 Had a pretty perfect day yesterday, food-wise, and got in my 40 minutes of running. I was hungry last night, but drank all my water and got to bed by 10. TOM is also winding down (for the second time this month, gah!) so everything just fell in place this morning. So much so that my new digital scale app asked me, "Is this Susan? "9 -
Hi Everyone! I'm back a day late. We were at a Hockey tournament a few hours away from Fri-Sun so I didn't have a scale.
SW- 182.4 in March 2017
GW - Was 145...beat this several weeks ago...so now I'm trying to work out how to balance calories and activity to maintain right around where I am. I seem to have lost a few more lbs though...was down into the 141's at one point last week.
11/17 - 143.6 - last weigh in before we went away for the weekend
Round 23
Day/Weight/Comment
11/19 - no scale
11/20 - 143.0 - amazing considering how much we had to eat on the fly over the past few days in between the 9 games both teams had to be at. I tried to make the best choices I could, apparently I did ok with what I ate and burned more than expected being a crazy cheering hockey mom.
11/21 - 143.6 - TOM arrived early in full force yesterday...peri-menopause is crazy, makes thing so unpredictable. A bit bloaty...but not too bad.
11/22 - 143.4 - not bad considering how hard it was not to finish that package of Hot Cocoa Oreos last night...limited myself to 3...that's a TOM victory!!
11/23 - 144.0 - the oreos won yesterday...but not the whole package...about 6 of them jumped into my mouth. Also fighting off a sinus thing that I'm determined isn't going to bring me down...
11/24 - 142.6 - lots of steps and stairs working in the showroom yesterday...I need to remember to take an extra snack with me to work now that I'm trying to stay where I'm at.
11/25 - 142.4 - I did not eat enough yesterday...we took the boys to the movies and I saved some calories for popcorn...but then ended up not enjoying it as much as I though I would and I hardly ate any. My tastes sure have changed!
11/26 -140.6 - ?????????? - Had a very busy and active Saturday. Tried a new work out and my glutes and hammy's are screaming this morning. I didn't drink enough water and clearly didn't eat enough...I may be a bit dehydrated...I expect this weight will bounce up again tomorrow if I re-hydrate and take it easy today.
11/27 - 145.4 - yep...that's almost 5lbs of pretty much water weight in one day. Chalking this one up to high sodium and carb day along with muscle repair from my screaming legs.
11/28 - 146.2 - higher sodium day again yesterday and still super sore and bloated, my rings were tight this morning. This is a prime example of what we put into our bodies and how they heal themselves can mess with the scale. I did not eat 25000 calories since Sunday morning and just need to stay hydrated and stay the course to see this come off.
Ending this round with my 7 day rolling average at 143.5...I'd call that success

I've decided that I am going to eat at maintenance/refeed for 2/7 days a week, which is why I am going to start using my average weight. I want to offset hormonal changes that occur when losing weight for extended periods of time that can make it harder to lose and maintain weight and I'm hoping to alleviate potential emotional stress of constantly being in a deficit.
Day/Weight/Comment
11/19--221.5 2lb increase over yesterday. I hit the trifecta of temporary weight gain--ate at maintenance, did not drink enough water, and worked out. Eating at maintenance today. I'm going to do some stretching today to help with the soreness from my kettlebell workout.
11/20--222.6 Temporary weight gain from eating at maintenance yesterday. Going to kettle bell again tonight.
11/21--222.0 Temporary weight gain from the hard work out yesterday, I am so sore, and lack of water. Today is rest day and making sure that I keep hydrated.
11/22--221.7 Still sore. Just a reminder that when you start working out you will show a temporary weight gain and your weight loss will slow for awhile. Going to kettlebell tonight. Goal is to stay hydrated today.
11/23--220.6 I am surprised that my weight went down after the tough ketttlebell class yesterday I thought I would still be retaining water. Going for a long walk today and then going out later for Thanksgiving dinner.
11/24--222.0 One day of eating above maintenance, now back to eating at deficit.
11/25--220.9 Nice to see the water weight going, but I still feel really heavy today and I can't see myself being able to eat at maintenance today, so I'll probably eat at a slight deficit today but that may change. Going to kettlebell today.
11/26--221.3 Slight gain from yesterday's workout.
11/27--221.5 Up and down. Just waiting for my body to stabilize from the new workout routine. I will just keep doing what I need to do and I will wait for the scale to catch up. Going to kettlebell today.
11/28--221.5 Kettlebell last night. This round has really shown me how much starting a new work out routine/working out hard can dramatically affect your weight loss. On to the next round!

Planning ahead for a small splurge but mostly healthy on TG. We've taken to having sweet potatoes without the sugar & butter (and I love them neat anyway), and I limit the stuffing and make my own cranberry sauce with chopped apple in place of sugar (I'm the only one who eats it, and I like it this way). So the big splurge is pie, and I minimize how much we have. Luckily by hubby isn't a big sweet eater. (To get my pumpkin fix this time of year, I get pumpkin butter and mix a Tbsp into cottage cheese or plain yogurt - yummy!) Everything else in our main dinner is healthy. The past three years I've run a 5K on TG morning, but we're in a different place and I didn't enter a race, so, unless it's pouring rain, I'll do my own private turkey trot. :-) I plan to enjoy TG without overdosing.
11/20 - 147.8
Went out for a ginormous (though healthy) breakfast yesterday, then had an apple for lunch and a light supper, so I didn't go over my goal, but did, I'm sure, get more sodium than usual. So this is fine.
11/21 - 148.2
Aha! There's my big, probably high sodium Sunday breakfast! Ok, moving right along...
11/22 - 149.2
Uck. OTOH, I'm under 150. I may give myself a little weigh-in break the next few days so the likely small gain on TG won't make me crazy. We'll see,
11/23 - 148.6
Ok, I have a pretty healthy day planned, so I will keep weighing after all. I will have some pumpkin pie, but the sweet potatoes are sans sugar and butter, and I'm skipping the stuffing. I have been a little careless this week, so no surprise that I'm up slightly, and I won't be surprised if I don't lose anything this round. Holding steady through the holidays is fine. Wishing everyone a happy Thanksgiving!
11/24 - 148.5
Well, there's a surprise! I didn't exactly pig out yesterday, but I did eat more than usual. Today is very healthy leftovers + a piece of pie. And a walk - finally a day without rain!
11/25 - 148.4
The pie is gone, and the leftovers, so back on track today. Hoping to finish this round no higher than I started. :-)
11/26 - 148.6
Doncha love the time lag on ups and downs? I ate within limits yesterday and got some exercise, so whatever.
11/27 - 148.4
It's really nice to see the numbers from past rounds and realize that, despite the feeling that I'm "stuck" because my weight hovers around a number for a few days, in fact it's slowly dropping off. And slowly is perfect - as is not gaining! So, again, I'm grateful for this challenge and for all of you for sharing your journeys.
11/28 - 148.4
Okay, I was hopeful but didn't expect too much this round. Onward!

OK day for food, not enough water. My goal for this round is 159.
11/20: 161.5
Did what I was supposed to do today. A bit anxious about a work event tomorrow.
11/21: 161.0
Saw this about a week ago. On my feet and outside most of the day today. OK day for calories, protein, etc. Probably a bit dehydrated although I drank over 2L. Kind expecting to be down tomorrow but I could be wrong.
11/22: 161.5
So, I was wrong on that one. Glad to have the day off tomorrow. We go to a relative's house for the holiday, not sure how I'll do on food. I pre-logged some stuff and I'm not planning to have wine or appetizers, but I'm going to have to say no a lot.
11/23: 160.5
Today was very bad, diet-wise. No surprise but I had kind of a plan I didn't stick to. Went way over on calories, yet didn't hit my goals for veggies or protein. Didn't have enough water. Definitely had sugar. I did get a little exercise at least. It's only one day, have to move forward. Hope those who celebrate had a nice Thanksgiving.
11/24: 162.5
Well deserved. I guess it's a victory that I got on the scale. Today I got quite a bit of exercise and ate pretty perfectly. I don't want to let the holiday derail me.
11/25: 161.0
Walked quite a bit plus did some other exercise, ate under my calorie goal.
11/26: 160.5
So, today... Banana bread. I did get exercise, good on veggies, protein, water but I went over a little on calories.
11/27: 161.5
More banana bread, the spoils of thanksgiving leftovers I couldn't (didn't) refuse. I have a couple pieces left, and so help me, I'm thinking I need to go ahead and eat them now so I can get back to my no sugar added eating plan tomorrow since I already blew today. Mostly I just want to eat them. This is why I gave up sugar, it calls me from the other room once I get started.
11/28: 163.0
Ah, bummer. Well, although I surely did have three pieces of banana bread yesterday, I technically stayed within my max calorie goal. I think this is more due to the sodium content in a Chinese stir fry.2 -
11/28 - 242.8 - Ugh. I am disappointed with these past two weeks but I keep telling myself not to give up. I keep trying to remember how far I've come and where I would still be if I had given up. I think I push myself too hard and then it's too much and I just quit. So I'm going to focus on small changes again to get back on track!
I totally understand the frustration with the ups and downs. As @cyranda63 said, it's not linear. I still have to remind myself of that when I am disappointed by an uptick.
5 years ago, I lost about 35 pounds of 70 that I wanted to lose. But then something happened...I got discouraged, I got tired and I stopped trying. And before I knew it, I was back to where I started. This time, I've worked through the ups and downs and stayed on track. Focusing on small helps sounds good. Groups like this have definitely helped me!

11/20 - 145.6 /Hopefully, I can make my way down again, even with Thanksgiving and such. Ate well today. Feeling bloated and moody in anticipation of TOM.
11/21 - 142.6 /Well, this is a surprise! Had pub food and drinks today.
11/22 - 141.8 /This is nice. I ate within calories today.
11/23 - 142.2 /Won't complain. Ate a lot today for Thanksgiving...and a lot of desserts.
11/24 - 144.4 /Well, I'm not surprised. Now time to recover!
11/25 - 144.4 /Hasn't budged yet. Continued to eat within calories today. 11/22 was such a tease!
11/26 - 142.8 /Making my way back to that elusive 11/22 weight. I'll be happy staying in the 142s for this challenge. Ate within calories and went to the gym today.
11/27 - 144.0 /And it's back.
11/28 - 142.8 /I'll take it. I weighed myself this morning at 144.0 and again after work at 142.8. I know I shouldn't do it but it happened and I'm taking the lower number! Was supposed to go to the gym today but didn't get out of work until after 7 for the second day in a row and was too tired! I hope to go tomorrow. Ate within calories today.

11/21: 289.2: great day up till dinner. Too much company so fast food for supper. Two pieces of Popeyes chicken and green beans. Portion size was way down for me so it must have worked.
11/22: 288.4: starting the day with oatmeal with bananas - yuk!
11/23: 288.4: steak nite last nite so just glad I didn’t gain. Didn’t get around to posting till 7:15 pm so hope I can stay away from the Derby Pie, Italian Cream Cake, Otster Dressing - it’s a minefield here!

Pregnant & gaining. Goals: hydration, vitamins, balanced macros, toning exercise daily. Honour my authentic self. Starting R23 @ 4 weeks into second trimester.

R20 SW 156.2
R21 SW 162
R22 SW 159.5
R23 SW 164.9
11/19 I overdid it yesterday and the expected hobbling pain came and I still hustled around moving boxes and furniture. I bought a candy apple based on the memory of enjoying them, but honestly, I only really enjoyed the green apple part. So I have added a new goal to this round: honour my authentic self. I am the girl who likes the green apple & I don’t need to eat/do/act in ways that do not align with who I am.
11/20 164.9 Healthy groceries shop, lots of greens in dinner.
11/21 163.4 Was in a rush and ordered pizza, then the snowmeggedon hit and I couldn’t attend my event anyway. Ate my bagged lunch- the avocado really paid off and kept me going. Dog walk was good until I overdid it.
11/22 came home with scary low blood sugar, ate rice crispies, milk and popcorn. Then when was feeling normal went about my evening and completely forgot to eat dinner. At least I was hydrated. Moved furniture into the new closet.
11/23 164.4 dinner was cereal and a protein shake, but lunch was super healthy. Had a nice long hobble walk with the fluffy pants.
11/24 165 just yesterday I was wondering if my lack of appetite was depression starting, and today it was definitely obvious. Hormones? No sunlight? Can’t really tell this year. All food is starting to taste gross. I just want to eat apples and cottage cheese. Maybe I’ll put myself on a plain meal plan, repetitive & nutritious.
11/25 165 we found my kitty after she was missing 6 weeks. Dropped all the Reno plans to chill for the afternoon and pet the cat and it was wonderful. Made a very late-evening lentil soup, but proud to have something healthy in hand with leftovers for the next two days.
11/26 I think I did really well today. Three healthy meals; yoga; decent water. Need to improve my sleep hours going forward, I’m not getting enough.
11/27 um, lost a day?
11/28 165.5 Good all around today except fear-ate some junk in the hospital waiting for blood work because I didn’t want to be low blood sugar/empty stomach. Probably shouldn’t have bothered. Where do they hide the healthy food in the hospital? Seriously. Also an emotional mess due to blood tests, but had two dog walks which are calming, house cleaning, and healthy main meals also helped.
Looking back at the 10 days, I think the diary is helping me stay food conscious but I need to be more proactive with the goals ahead of time.3 -

I HAVE the power and determination to do this.
Change in focus. In the normal range for my age height and build, on maintenance.
New Primary Goal - 160lbs +/- 2lbs.
I was ill most of Round 22, but achieved my goal.
Of course, losing a pound a Round would be ace, as I would like a cushion for celebrations.
to all the Newbies, and Hi to those returning for another Round. This has given me an element of daily accountability which is motivational.
Observations, and Previous RoundsMany events along the way will scupper our best intentions, but they merely delay the achievement of our goals. Life is for living, and one must learn patience. It takes many years to put on excess weight, so It follows that it takes much time to remove, but it does come off, bit by stubborn bit! If you stick with it! The game continues!
A lot of people get upset by apparent weight gain when they have been working their butts off. Body weight fluctuates, both up, and down, from one day to the next depending on so many factors. From my experience:- Changes often take several days to show on the scale.
- A drop is often followed by a bounce up before it settles back down. A general downward trend is the aim.
- A high sodium day usually results in a gain due to water retention, unless you drink extra fluids to flush it out.
If you are making positive lifestyle changes it will lead to increased health and fitness.
Slow and steady leads to sustainable weight loss.
But remember to live a little along the way!

Ready for another round! Live has been crazy with this new job so I'm hoping to find some way to work exercise back into my daily routine. It's been really hard to get back there again.

Day/Weight/Comment
11/19 216.8 - major binge Friday night and didn't track on Saturday. Not surprised
11/20 215.6 - coming back down. Really focused on keeping it together this week. Not sure if I'll make my goal this round at this rate. We shall see.
11/21 213.6 - Getting better. I hope it keeps going.
11/22 211.4 - Alright! Now let's see if I can stay down over the holiday weekend.
11/23 211.6 - Not to bad
11/24 213.4 - I'm OK with this given I was stuffed after Thanksgiving dinner. Morning average is still going down, so it is fine.
11/25 212.4 - Equal with my morning average now. Not a lot of hope for the rest of this weekend. Today we are going to my mom's and tomorrow is DucksGrilling (the tradition we started since we only have our girls for Thanksgiving every other year - they love it!)
11/26 212.4 - Holding steady. I'm amazed I haven't gained a ton over this holiday weekend...
11/27 213.8 - Not surprised after the DucksGrilling feast. Still down from my last official weigh in on Monday so I'll take it.
11/28 212.6 - Right at goal.
