    Speak for yourself, Sir.

Not my fault you don't know the definition of animal

Ummm, perhaps you should recheck that dictionary, and perhaps a primary school science book...

Webster: one of the lower animals as distinguished from human beings
dictionary.com: any such living thing other than a human being.

Which one are you looking at?

    Kingdom: Animalia
    Phylum: Chordata
    Subphylum: Vertebrata
    Class: Mammalia
    Subclass: Theria
    Infraclass: Eutheria
    Order: Primates
    Suborder: Anthropoidea
    Superfamily: Hominoidea
    Family: Hominidae
    Genus: Homo
    Species: sapiens

The first one from webster is definition #2. Definition #1 includes humans.

2 of the 5 definitions in webster include humans.

Like any other animal, it depends on which part of the body you are inquiring about.

    People are not animals

yes we are, we are mammals:glasses:

Look up animal in the dictionary what does it say

Considering the Dictionary is constantly changing, and quite possibly has 'slang' terms in it, so it isn't perfect. Even in SEX documentaries (like one from last night on Destination America) they refer to us as mammals as we are part of a small group of 'mammals' aka animals that mate for life. [Shrug]

Totally don't mate for life. Obviously documentaries and dictionaries are way off. Totally we are animals. Wild f*cking like crazy animals.

The one you conveniently glossed over:

Any member of the kingdom Animalia, comprising multicellular organisms that have a well-defined shape and usually limited growth, can move voluntarily, actively acquire food and digest it internally, and have sensory and nervous systems that allow them to respond rapidly to stimuli: some classification schemes also include protozoa and certain other single-celled eukaryotes that have motility and animallike nutritional modes.

You're aware that online dictionaries also list their 'common usage' alongside the correct definition right?

The standard definition is multicellular members of the Animalia kingdom with various biological characteristics.

A specialized secondary definition is any such creature with the specific exception of humans.

Which I would point out makes it clearly a matter of terminology, since the explicit meaning is that otherwise a human would be considered an animal since it meets the criteria of the standard definition.

Human flesh jerky is high in sodium...stick to a baked human flesh...

I stick to a raw diet since cooking kills nutrients but I am not a huge fan of most veg so I refuse to go vegetarian.

It's not a very sustainable nutritional strategy though.

I hate to point this out, but the word 'human' is used to identify us, in much the same way we would identify say, a dog, or a pig, or a horse. We don't walk around calling everything 'animals'. I'm a bit confused about why this argument is going on. We ARE animals, this was proved a long time ago and there is no debate to be had.

Unfortuantely there are a lot of people who think they're too good to be decended "from monkeys".
Apparently there's a movement somewhere in the States where they're trying to ban books on evolution in school... (heard this awhile ago tho, not sure what's going on with it now...)
