Last night had to finish Christmas shopping and buy ingredients for cookies.

Had to wrap gifts tonight. Now I need to figure out what to do with chicken for dinner. So another rest day but at least hit my 10k steps.

Saturday I'll get a workout in before I start baking! I swear!

@7lenny7 - Yes, 16 days makes it tough! That' a lot of mileage. It sounds really fun to plan. Hope it works out!
    Kody will be 12!

So full... eating way too much at my mom's house. Ahhh well... it's okay. Tomorrow's the last full day. Saturday is when I head back to Orlando. Been loving running in these lower temperatures!

@PastorVincent - it's amazing how many calories restaurants serve. I always think.... why don't they serve less and charge less?! Because then they wouldn't make money I guess.

I'm another one like @PastorVincent who logs all my food, and I log my weight every day too. 985 days and counting. It worked for weight loss and it works for maintenance.

Although @MNLittleFinn you didn't have to lose as much weight as I did, and can possibly head things off at the pass earlier without tracking, which is a great skill. I am a bit disturbed I'm more "OCD" about this than you!;) xo

@karllundy I like your number of recent rest days. I'm finding of late that it can sometimes be more beneficial performance-wise to have a rest day than a blah-blah run day.

Thanks for the comment on my candy cane run! It was so much fun!!

Oh, but the tension when I was syncing it to Garmin Connect!:smiley:

Another 5k done today. 40.3 miles complete of my 50 mile goal. Should be able to crank out those last ten miles no problem.

    12/19 - 4.2
    12/20 - rest
    12/21 - 5.1km

    53.7/75km

Didn't want to run - went anyway. It wound up being a really nice run. I was a bit overdressed for -7C but glad of it when the wind gusts hit every so often. Light snow but mostly clear footing and tons of Christmas lights made for a great run.

I'd planned to wrap some presents tonight but that's not going to happen so I guess I'll take care of them all tomorrow night.

Planning on at least 10K for Saturday. It's supposed to be okay out. Next week is supposed to be brutally cold though.

    Upcoming Races:
    1/1/18 Resolution Run 5K
    4/8/18 Jasper Half Marathon
    8/18/18 Edmonton Marathon 10K

Got out midday today to fight the wind. It felt good to run - just not against the wind. On the bright side though it is cooling down (supposed to be 36F tonight! - cold for us) and only to the low 60's during the day tomorrow.
I saw the nutritionist for the first time since September and the news was not good... I did not log much during that time. With all the travel I find that so difficult and it showed on the scale. I do have a plan going forward though especially for dealing with travel workouts and exhaustion. I also looked back at my spreadsheet and August-November are my lowest running months since I started running. Definitely need to correct that!
@Orphia - loved the candy cane! did it take a lot of planning?
@Ralphone - I find and copy my previous post and and onto it. Sometimes I post daily but most times it is every couple of days depending on how busy I am. I keep all my stats in a spreadsheet and have it going back to when I started running in 2012.
@girlinahat - I can't imagine running in heels. I would trip or twist my ankle. Most likely I would just take them off and run barefoot :)
@HonuNui - Happy Birthday a couple of days late! Ok - so you are just a little older than me but not by much!
@skippygirlsmom - the PJ run sounds like so much fun!
@ddmom0811 - so glad you enjoyed your vacation running at your mom's. Can't wait to hear about your runs on the way back to Florida!

On the Denny's discussion... We had a truck stop just outside of town (Boise) where we all would hang out in HS and drink coffee and eat too many french fries.

On the CICO - I still log my food and exercise most of the time (traveling is the exception). I also still weigh my food when I am home, mostly because it is a habit but it is also good for me to check and make sure my portions aren't growing. Right now though I mostly just need to eat more consistently and not skip meals.

I was able to do 6.7 miles on the elliptical this am.(65 minutes with a lower resistance than normal) I babied my calf some on the intensity of the workout. Calf felt better after exercise but still sore. I want 13 miles tomorrow but I face the calf issue and the forecast is for freezing rain. If I get lucky they'll cancel swim classes and I'll get to run on the treadmill. Here's to hoping the meteorologist are their usual accurate selves. (I'd rather run in a blizzard.) Made my target this month I may even get to my mark of 150 if next week goes well.

December goal: Keep kicking at Zumbro training
Nominal mileage goal: Let's say 120?? I really don't know. Going for like 70% trail

    12/1- 7.2

    12/3- 9.5
    12/4- 5.8

    12/7- REST
    12/8- 8.4ish
    12/9- 9.1
    12/10- 6.6
    12/11- REST
    12/12- 4.1
    12/13- 6.6
    12/14- 4.9

    12/16- 6- ugh, so slow
    12/17- 8.1
    12/18- REST

    12/20-6.7
    12/21- REST
    12/22-7.2

    Total: 111.9

Today's notes: Today's assignment was 4x1mile Cruise Intervals at 7:15 pace. First interval was 6 seconds under time, second was 6 seconds over. The wheels totally came off for the last 2 intervals though. I don't know it it was lack of sleep, the somewhat slippery conditions or my own not being used to 1 minute recovery between reps, but both the last 2 reps were +30sec from goal time. Getting ready to go visit family for the weekend.

    Have a Runderful day Everyone!

You decide what counts for you. Like I do not count walking for myself, but others do. It is very personalized that way. :)

@PastorVincent I am with you 100%. If I stopped tracking I would without a doubt be fat again. And eff that
This! I will not stop tracking my CICO or charting my weight. This is working for me and truth be known...I really enjoy it!

I am kind of the same. I try to log 7 days a week, although sometimes I get a little sketchy on the weekends. But it is almost like a security blanket for me. I decided to try not logging the last two weeks of this year because it can get difficult this time of year with baking and sampling, carry-ins and holiday parties and what not. I thought it might be a good break for me. But I am finding it kind of stressful. It's been a combination of mindless eating and eating the wrong foods. It's left me feeling bloated and sluggish with stomach issues. I am actually looking forward to getting back to logging. I am still holding out because I am curious to see if I gain any weight between now and the end of the year. So far I haven't, but there's still another 9 days of holiday eating to get through...ugh!
