I don't know about Katie, it sounded like it doesn't get cold enough there for that to occur.
During the 10,000 meters they said for the first time in a long time the area Jorrit Bergma grew up in is going to do a canal race because the ice is safe enough to skate on. That is in the northern part of Holland, so if they can't skate up there, wouldn't it seem the same would be true for most of Holland?0 -

Favorite thing was watching a good friend of mine skate in the Women's 500m Speed Skating event thus fulfilling a dream she's been working towards for more than 5 straight years!5
