May was a blur. So much stress, hospital visits, anger, frustration... I gained 4.5 pounds in June and inflammation came back with a vengeance. Jumped back on the wagon on 6/11. Hoping to not fall down again. I am tweaking my diet a little to see if a vegetarian keto is doable. I'm still eating whole foods, no processed foods, 10-15% animal protein, and drinking now -gulp- a gallon of water. 2 or 3 meals a day, no snacking.

5/28 169.8 Thrilled!! Noticeably stronger & trimmer (tape measure) as I step up calories & exercise distance & weights. I was really nervous about slowing my weight loss rate, but it’s definitely working & helping. It feels like slowing a fast moving train- it took some extra effort to pull on the brakes & adjust them just right— now the train is still moving just at half speed & it’s more effortless now. Yay!

My scale cooperated at the last moment. Silly scale.
6/11 168.8 Was lower, but a few days of no to low fiber diet (and more sodium) to prepare for a medical test has bumped me up temporarily. Water retention. I miss my high fiber veggies, whole grain bread, & nuts!! Back to normal Tues afternoon.

So. Did I make my goal? I say no. Am I in my goal RANGE of 145 - 150 by the end of the challenge? Yes. Did I EVER get to my ultimate goal of 145 or even 147? Not even once. I was down as low as 148.2 a couple weeks ago. My trending weight has been very steady at exactly 150.6 for over a week, and at its lowest was 150.5. So no, I didn't meet my goal. I'll still believe I'm on track, just going very slowly. I also may change my goal and consider this as a decent place to stop and maintain. My original goal when I started lowing weight in January was 151. It was sort of arbitrary, but guess what? That's where I am!

I actually was planning to end this challenge on the first full day of summer which was yesterday. But since the scale was kind to me today, I figured I could extend the challenge by a day. That extra day could be the difference between meeting and not meeting my goal simply from daily fluctuations, and it's a reason why I ~do~ weigh every day.

5/21- GW: 172 ✅170.0 Delighted! I’m purposely slowing weight loss down; focusing on building muscle/fitness. BMI: 25.1
5/28 169.8 Thrilled!! Noticeably stronger & trimmer (tape measure) as I step up calories & exercise distance & weights. I was really nervous about slowing my weight loss rate, but it’s definitely working & helping. It feels like slowing a fast moving train- it took some extra effort to pull on the brakes & adjust them just right— now the train is still moving just at half speed & it’s more effortless now. Yay!

My scale cooperated at the last moment. Silly scale.
6/11 168.8 Was lower, but a few days of no to low fiber diet (and more sodium) to prepare for a medical test has bumped me up temporarily. Water retention. I miss my high fiber veggies, whole grain bread, & nuts!! Back to normal Tues afternoon.
