You're "promoting" Zumba and yoga, but the simple fact is your results came from starving yourself. Doctor's supervision or not, that's still what it is. Normal people with normal diets and calorie deficits will not have anywhere near the same results, plus a lot of that weight lost is a massive amount of water, so when you adjust your calories back up a lot of it will come back. No key is bashing you personally, just pointing out to others that the way you achieved your results is unrealistic for other people.

You could've done 90 minutes of ANY cardio exercise with the incredibly low calorie diet you are on and had the same results.

As a Registered Nurse who graduated in the top 10% of her class, I think you are doing fantastic. You will know when to up your calories and when to eat them back. Do not let *****es on this site ruin your motivation.

My mother is an RN who graduated at the top of her class (not top 10%, the actual TOP.) And is a semester away from her bachelors and she disagrees with you.

She graduated at a higher rank and soon to have more qualifications so her opinion is more valid. That is how this whole 'my doctor said...' justification works right?

Im not starving myself...I still eat and I eat a RAW Vegan diet that is Gluten free under the supervision of a nutritionist and a doctor. Once I lose the initial weight my workouts will be reduced with the same amount of calorie intake As I said, everyone is different. People lose weight at different rates. you guys are not familiar with my battles and challenges or my health conditions. Everyone has their own opinion , this was a success story for me. I posted it because I have worked hard to achieve MY results and I am proud of them. I posted the pictures because I am proud of what i have accomplished! Not to tell everyone they will look like me if they do Zumba. In my original post all is said was to do zumba and yoga and they will see results. Will they be as extreme as mine? Probably not, but its still encouraging healthy excersize. I never once encouraged anyone to be on the diet I am on with my level of activity. That is clearly written on my profile.

and my Dad worked on a farm ....really people congratulate the girl on her success and get your noses back into your own diets and workouts........everyday we see people struggling with different ailments and not only that we see people who have taken what we call the easy way out. Here we have a girl working hard putting in the work and your bashing her...get a life. .....OP my suggestion is leave the thread with the many congratulations you have gotten and with a smile and leave the haters in their own misery.....CONGRATULATIONS!....if I were you OP I wouldn't even look back at this thread.....hugs!

No. Its not. Because she is not by any means familiar with my doctor and dietitian.

so why post at all then?
Because you're promoting a very low calorie diet. 1200 calories a day, 90 minutes of exercise 6 days a week, and not eating back exercise calories. What were you netting in calories? Maybe 450-500 a day? THAT is not a healthy way to lose weight. You need to fuel your body. And possibly seek professional help if you're so obsessed with losing the weight that you are willing do it in an unhealthy fashion and possibly cause harm to your internal organs.

    Good luck.

Ok first of all Im not promoting a low calorie Diet. I am promoting doing zumba and yoga, which has proven results. I am under the care of a nutritionist and a doctor for an underlying medical condition i have that has nothing to do with disorders. I have PCOS and my nutritionist has informed me not to eat back my calories for the first 6 week of my diet and to work out like this for 6 weeks. In my previous posts and my profile I publicly announce this.

I am beating my own Syndrome and to me thats progress and I dont give a hell what you have to say about it. I think i would trust my doctor and my nutritionist over anything that you have to say to me.

People will ultimately do whats right for their body, and this from health professionals is the way for me.
Obviously you do care what I have to say since you got your panties in a bunch over my post :flowerforyou:

I'm glad you've been advised by two medical professionals to do something unhealthy. Just remember, 50% of doctors graduated in the bottom half of their class.

A doctor who has graduated at the bottom the class is still a doctor...which im sure you are not.
Secondly, if you were truly concerned you would have messaged me about it ....but you didnt, so the point of posting it was just to be an *kitten* and bash me. So yeah call it having my panties in a bunch or whatever, but it was still rude .
I see we've resorted to name calling. Very adult-like.

If I were truly concerned, I would've called you out so others can be warned about your behaviors. Maybe I'm more concerned with a noob desperate to lose weight, and your post is promoting over exercising and undereating. If you're going to do so under "doctor supervision" you should point that out in your original OP and not expect everyone to research your previous posts or check your profile for disclaimer.

And since you're not inside my head, do not tell me what my motives are, unless you're so qualified. I guarantee you're not a psychiatrist.

If I had to chose from a doctor that was top 10% in their class and did a residency at John Hopkins, or one who barely passed from Joe Schmo college, I'll choose the former. I have standards when it comes to medical care and advice.

She's pretty familiar with PCOS though and is interested in your doctors justification is for what is considered the minimum of food health wise (1200-1000) combined with all that cardio activity and how exactly it relates to PCOS.

Its honestly none of anyones buisness. This post was not about my PCOS . It was about me doing zumba and being happy with my results. there are other things factoring in that doesnt concern anyone but my doctors and I. So thanks for your concern, but its not needed.

And you really shouldn't tell people that they will see results if they do yoga and zumba under false pretenses. without the full story, you have made deceptive claims.

My own personal success. not yours or anyone elses... everyones results are different. Everyone has a different STORY. If I choose not to divulge my WHOLE entire medical problems on MFP , which i dont feel is anyones buisness but my own, then that is my choice. I was proud of my results. And I posted them. Actually, I am pretty sure that she did not do it to bash you as much as to prevent the promotion of an unhealthy weight loss technique. Regardless of what you are doing under whoever's advice, it is still not a healthy thing for everyone to be doing.

As you have never mentioned it in your initial posting here, and we are not all just so interested in your life to follow every post you have ever made, plus your profile is not public, so most people won't even know your special case.

They will just see your post, and see this is how to lose a bunch of weight. Great. I'll give that a try since I am new to weight loss and fitness, and here is the solution. I did see you buried a disclaimer deep in the thread, after you were challenged on it, but you should probably have done so in an edit to your OP. Even though, I am still fairly convinced, that will not stop more people from doing what you said.

Also, a nutritionist is not that big of a deal. Anybody can become a nutritionist. It doesn't require years of schooling. I would talk with an RD before a nutritionist. The RDs have a 4 year degree, or more, and didn't just take a test to gain their title.

You did a great job. When you put it out there, with as little background information as you provided, you are promoting what you did to succeed as a method for all who read it. That includes those who are brand new, and have no idea how anything works, and come to the success story boards for motivation and ideas about how to drop some serious poundage.
  • 1200 calories and 90 min of exercise= hellova dangerous calorie deficit. Thats great you exercise but wow this is overall unhealthy.
Please read my previous post. This is under supervision. I was by no means talking about my diet. I was talking about doing Zumba and Yoga. I was not promoting my diet.

I appreciate the note to your previous post, I did read it. However, by the mere mention of your diet, you are promoting it as part of your success along with the zumba. There is plenty of scientific evidence to back the danger of netting low calories. Please be careful, I wish you healthy, long term success.
