Is there research that demonstrates this is a more effective way to grow muscle or is this one of those "it just makes sense based on how I imagine it would work" assertions?
I trust my cousin, who works at a biology lab at the University of Manitoba when tells me anything regarding the human body. He's such a perfectionist that I've heard my family mention the possibility of him having un-diagnosed Asperger's. I wouldn't trust anyone more than him on the subject. So, no, it's not my opinion, it's just the knowledge that I have been given from as a trusted a resource that I know...way more trustworthy than anything on the internet (including this comment lol). Feel free to do whatever research you need to do.
It's not your opinion, it's your cousin's opinion (which may or may not be based on research).
Before you give others advice, you want a more solid basis than "My cousin says so."
Having (diagnosed or not) Asperger's doesn't make one an expert. I'm not even sure what that has to do with the subject.
He has a Bachelor of Science and runs the lab he is in. There is an opinion. Then there is a scientist explaining the facts of life. But I digress. You have no reason to trust me, I would think less of you if you did. I will continue to benefit from his knowledge as I continue this life, but as I stated, do your own research. I went to an scientist, happened to be a relative...maybe I should have left the relative part out. Some of you are having a tough time with this one lol not my intention. Just go ask someone who paid a lot of money to know the difference between internet BS and knowledge.
Do your own research and come back knowledge instead of indignation. While I was very clear that I was not an authority, I didn't pull my info from a random website or magazine either. I took time out of my life to sit and learn. But I'm sure the internet has all your answers for you. Keep it classy, kids.6 -

I'd have to see the science behind this before I can buy into it. Show us some research3 -

I’ve been going anywhere from 4-6 days a week from 6-7am since mid January. I always start with cardio and end with strength training. If anything my weight on the scale has gone UP though my body composition has changed (body fat % down and muscle % is up). The problem is I’m not SEEING the changes and I’m getting frustrated with it. I know my body is changing for the better but damnittttt I want to SEE IT already!! How long did it take you to really see the changes you work so hard for?? I’m not even close to giving up but I need some reassurance that this is normal or something. I dunno, I just need some fkng positivity cuz I’m feeling defeated after weighing in today.
1 month isn't long enough.2 -
If you’re doing this as a lifestyle, in other words, not trying to get in shape and/or lose weight for a wedding or something then you need to look at this as a life long pursuit. A pursuit of taking care of the only body you’ve been given. I strongly recommend you take photos of yourself at all angles. Then take photos every month or at least every 90 days in the same outfit. It’s so motivating because if you are eating at a deficit and working out, you WILL see a difference. Trust me.1
