Like others I am so done with winter, -20C and a nasty south wind this morning so I postponed my run until late afternoon/evening and went over to the local Ski Hill for some end of season laps. In the morning the runs were ice slopes so you really had to stand on your edges hard to make turns. By the afternoon it had softened up and was a completely differant hill. 13.73 km of Downhill skiing. Home for a break and changed into running kit for 5 km along the Riverbank Trails on Tired legs trying to hold tempo at 6 min/km. Finish the month at 104.75 km of running - 35 km short of goal. Basically in taper now for Jasper HM next weekend.

    03/01 0.0 km – 0.0km – 140.0 km – YTD 128.32km
    03/31 5.0 km -104.75km - 35.25 km - YTD 233.07 km Riverbank Tempo

I RAN 13.2 MILES UP AND DOWN A MOUNTAIN TODAY.
    TWICE.
IT WAS REALLY HARD AND SOMETIMES I HATED IT, BUT WAS SO PROUD OF MYSELF FOR DOING IT.
    That is all.

Well done, now just to find a Mountain HM or a 25/50 km Ultra :)

Well... it was intervals, it was slow, it was terrible.... but I got a 5k today. 3.1 miles. It also puts me in a spot where I might actually have to set a real goal in April... I will have to think about that.
@hanlonsk Just the fact that you have been able to add a few slow runs in is a great sign of injury recovery progressing.

@__TMac__ Many of us Lurked around the edges before joining in with a modest goal and then slowly building from there. New shoes = mo miles/km's.

@garygse especially since it also shows 10:00 min/mile under avg pave. I wonder if it was 9:59.99 and it did a funky round up. It's still OCD funny. You should send that picture into Garmin with a big WTF ??? and see if they have a explanation.

8.23 miles today, slow. It was incredibly windy and I experienced some GI issues mid-run that slowed me down.

    0329-4k Total-65.8k Goal-80k

Dreadmill yesterday after work. Would have done more but ran out of time.

Going to fall short of my goal again this month but not by much, planning a 10k tomorrow morning. On a business trip to Shanghai at the moment, and they've got a paved red running track for loooong stretches along the river (a news article said 25km last July and still expanding). Awesome stuff, will check it out tomorrow morning.

Well that didn't happen... bringing my March grand total to 65.8km.

    March 30 – 9 miles

Fell short of my March goal by 1 mile. Think I will keep the same goal for April. Weather shouldn’t be a factor unless having thunderstorms might cancel a morning-before-work run.

    Upcoming Races:
April 7 – Cooper River Bridge Run
May 6 – Pittsburgh Half Marathon
September 7-8 – Blue Ridge Relay
October 20 – Cherokee Harvest Half Marathon

Good morning. I've missed you all. I'm not going to set any type of goal for this month I'm just going to run as I can. It's been I think 4 weeks since I broke my ribs, I'm not supposed to run until June, but for the most part they don't hurt anymore. They get sore depending on what I'm doing. I ran last night for the first time with my running group. I ran with the group training for a 5K since they were supposed to run for 25 minutes without stopping and the advanced group I'm in was doing half mile repeats at tempo pace (I'm not even sure I understood that at all) anyway, I ended up doing just over 2 miles. No pain. I did have a long talk with the speed bump I tripped over. Honestly I looked at it good, it's like 5" high. The church and the town are going back and forth over who is supposed to paint it since I tripped. I said tell them I'll come paint it. geesh.

Anyway, no way I can read the entire month of April. I'll try to keep up to date from here.

@skippygirlsmom Gee, I just read about your ribs. Man! That's terrible. Yeah, sadly ribs heal on their own. Be sure to do some deep breathing...or just blow up balloons. Most people who get into trouble with broken ribs do so when they don't take deep breaths (because it hurts). I am glad to hear that you are doing better.

I am finally posting on the March thread. I finished the month of March with 31 miles toward my goal of 40. I gave up reading around page 70 or so. You guys are great....such inspiration. I know that if I kept up with the thread, I would have made my goal somehow.

I did run an 8K on March 31st ....my shortest race to date. I started too fast but wasn't worried since it was only 5 miles, but then probably a quarter mile from the finish I started coughing hard, felt like vomiting and had to slow to a walk. When I recovered my breath, I sprinted to the finish. Really frustrated....I was going to finish around 1:01 and ended finishing 1:02:36. 7 runners passed me before the finish. GRRRRR. Even though I am not that fast, I am still competitive.

    Now to the April thread.
