    🥺

Someone wise once said to me “you’re relentless” but proceeded to give me what I wanted so......I persist.

That last sentence goes for everyone i think

People, love yourself for who you are now
Don't be too harsh on yourself
And if you do want to tone/shape up, go for it, it takes time and effort, but everyone can do it

Totally. I think some people equate “loving yourself with being comfortable to stay where you are”. I think of it as “loving myself while still wanting to improve”. I’ll tell you when I didn’t love myself I sure as hell wasn’t interested in changing. Not enough to do it anyway.

Love the last line. About the egg. 😂

    Yes. This.

I have a friend who tries to practice ‘body love’ she calls it. But it has confused her entirely. She believes that the pursuit of improvement and ‘body love’ are mutually exclusive. So now whenever she indulges in candy, she hollers “body love!” before popping it in her mouth. Attempts to exercise are, in her mind, further proof that she hasn’t yet achieved proper body love.

I don’t think the desire to reach new goals necessarily means you dislike your body as is; quite the opposite sometimes. Taking care of your body is kinda the ultimate form of loving it.

I feel like half this thread just disappeared, or I’m literally losing it, but I’ll participate anyway... Mama of 4 boys 💙💙💙💙 1 with special needs 🧩 I Mostly just wear my gym clothes, bc I don’t get the chance to change out of them before my crazy starts.

I love just wearing gym clothes. It's practically all I wear day in and day out due to job and me always being active. Although for me, I just buy several of the same shorts, shirts, pants and just rotate them daily. My family always makes fun of me and kids at school (I'm a yard duty 2 hours a day at lunch time) always ask if I ever change my clothes.
    BTW you look so awesome.

I consider exercise brain love more than body love. While I appreciate the physical results of working out, the mental impact is what keeps me motivated. I feel it most when I've pushed my body and the 2 day delay kicks in. That feeds my psyche and reminds me to tell myself that I'm a bad *kitten* in my own way.

Love it too; just wish more people remembered to love their body as is, at this moment in time. I have to keep remembering this imperfect body birthed 4 children, suffered hardships, felt bad, felt good, persevered through all types of storms, helped and supported others, worked for over 49 years to stay afloat financially, loved, grieved, gave, took, and the scale or mirrors don't reflect any of that back to me.

The first and hardest(IMO) thing to do is care enough about yourself to live as healthy as you can. You, and your body deserve it. <3

You are so right, it’s crazy to think how much my body has done for me, yet I find myself still being so hard on it. Self love has probably been the hardest thing I’ve ever tried to teach myself.

The hardwoods are excellent as well.
